Paula Deen

Dropped by Walmart

Another one bites the dust ... Paula Deen has just been dropped by Walmart.

The retail giant just released a statement, saying, "We are ending our relationship with Paula Deen Enterprises and we will not place new orders beyond those already committed."

Walmart is Paula's latest business partner to sever ties with the celebrity chef in the wake of her n-word scandal ... a list that includes the Food Network, the Caesars casino company, and the ham company Smithfield.

Deen appeared on "Today" this morning, offering a tearful apology -- saying, "If there's anyone out there that has never said something that they wish they could take back ... please pick up that stone and throw it so hard at my head that it kills me."

Walmart has no room to talk about anyone . They are the ones that treat their employees badly, wont give them enough working hours to live decently. I think its as bad in the USA as it is in Canada...working for Walmart.

Walmart, all those people that were killed over in Bangladesh, were they not making clothes and stuff for your company? How much were you paying them? Was not your company the leader in moving American jobs overseas to enhance your profits? Paula Deen has not done an nth of the crap your company has done to this country. So she made few mistakes, nothing compared to your company taking our jobs and the very bread from our childrens mouths. For you all to jump on the bandwagon is so hypocritcal and overkill.

For those who think this is "out of hand" or "outrageous" for Paula, read the civil complaint. http://www.scribd.com/doc/148781831/Jackson-v-Deen-Et-Al-Complaint
after you pick your jaw up off the floor, you will have a changed mind, hopefully.

How come this lady gets fired for using the N word and Quentin Tarantino gets an Oscar nomination for writing it a zillion times in Django Unchained?

: "I is who I is and I'm not changing" is a terrible soundbite when you've been accused of being racist.

I cringed so hard at that, I fell out of my chair.

GOOD GRAVY, PAULA. Just... no. Just stop talking. Every word that comes out of your mouth digs you deeper and deeper into a really gross hole. Just. Stop. Talking.

I applaud The Food Network for not renewing Paula Deen's contract and believe that QVC and Walmart should do the same. Paula has demonstrated a gross display of racial insensitivity and extreme lack of judgment with her comments. She has failed to understand how the negligible amount of "white privilege" which she has grown up under in a very racist south has afforded her and her family a continued life of benefits. Meanwhile, many black men and women who are her age and older have yet to be given an official acknowledgment or Presidential Apology for slavery and the continued effects on those decendents of slaves. Many groups like the Native Americans, Japanese and our Jewish brothers and sisters have not only received an official apology, but have also been given, reparations in the form of govt. land, forgiven debt and billions of dollars in annual grants to support our friends in Israel. Her suggesting to host a Southern Slavery party in 2013 is reprehensible and speaks volumes of anyone who chooses to continue supporting a person who feels this is somehow "ok or harmless" and not majorly offensive. A few years ago, a CNN anchor by the name of Rick Sanchez was fired for simply making the comment: "I'm telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Jon Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they - the people in this country who are Jewish - are an oppressed minority? Yeah." [sarcastically] Mr. Sanchez quickly apologized but was still fired. If Mr Sanchez's comments were grounds for being fired, then certainly Paula Deen should be fired and held accountable for her comments. Additionally, as more of her employees continue to come forward, perhaps she should consider using a portion of her $24Million Dollars to establish a museum of tolerance for more racial equality in the racist South of which she is so proud to have come.

Everyone makes mistakes. Its not like she killed anybody. It is just a word and I am pretty sure most people say racists things. People who are hating on her most likely said something racist in the past. Who cares?
