The demolition derby known as Paula Deen's empire rolls on -- she's just been dropped by one of her publishers, which says it will no longer release her next project ... which was expected to be a best seller.

In a statement released Friday, Ballantine Books announced it has cancelled the publication of "Paula Deen's New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up".

But get this ... even though the book wasn't set to come out until October, it's already #1 on Amazon with pre-order sales.

Ballantine adds its name to the long list of companies abandoning ship in light of Deen's n-word controversy ... The Food Network, QVC, JCPenny, and Smithfield Hams, etc ...

This crap is unbelieveable! People hate her because she is a southern white woman. People hate her for what she has achieved. As far as former employees go, why didn't they speak up sooner? Because the gravy train hadn't left the station yet. Her former employee has the same amount of credibility as the first witness in the George Zimmerman trial. She claims to have written a letter, but when she was asked to read it, she claimed that she couldn't read cursive. What an effin disaster!

I keep reading statements about " oh , Paula will come back .." but comeback where ? how ? on Planet Pluto ? She's now dropped by a Major Publisher ( Media...) even with a No .1 seller ..I think only Oprah can bring her back now .. That's if Oprah doesn't face the Wrath herself..

Paula wasn't hired to represent any company. She was hired because of her own reputation as a cook and food personality and business woman. These companies are all ridiculously stupid and are creating a huge backlash much more damaging than anything Paula could do to them. I imagine she's got her millions tucked away, so y'all go right ahead and play the race game with Jesse. She can retire on the beach or wherever she likes and chill with her money.

The publisher has done the right thing. People tend to forget that it's not just a word, it's the history that is attached to that word - from the lynching, to segregation, to the attempted extermination of the minority race.

It's almost akin to Holocaust denial iamo.

I am telling you, these companies know something we all don't know yet. I am thinking they know what's on that behind the scene video tape Paula has blocked. It has to be more then the N-word being said more then 20 + years ago. Yup, I am thinking that video is damage good to Paula Deen career.

Until about a week ago, Paula Deen was just Food Network's most lovable diabetes peddler this side of Ina Garten. She'd tell America to squeeze hamburger patties in between a split glazed donut, and we'd turn a blind eye. "Deep-fry lasagna, y'all," Deen would coo, and everyone would let it slide. When she came out last year with diabetes and became the face of a diabetic drug, that was just fine. America even let this woman tell Al Roker with a straight face that "I've always encouraged moderation."

But that all changed when a deposition surfaced in which the Georgia chef admitted to using the N-word and fantasizing about an antebellum-themed wedding, complete with slaves. Her lawyers pushed back, but then Deen went into full-on scramble mode: She canceled on the Today show, released bizarre videos left and right, then got fired by her network and her sponsors. On Friday, Kmart, Sears, J.C. Penney, and Walgreens dropped the cooking star, joining Target, Home Depot, and diabetes drug company Novo Nordisk less than 48 hours since Deen re-appeared on Today and claimed she wasn't a racist. "Would, I have fired me, knowing me? No. I am so fortunate that so many of partners, that know who I am," Deen told Lauer, speaking about partners she no longer has. And now her publishing company has ended her contract, despite it being a best seller, number 1 on the Pre-sale list at Amazon.

Paula admitted she used the word -- back in the 1980s - when a black guy walked into the bank, stuck a gun in her face and ordered her to hand over the cash.
The national media failed to mention that part of the story.
I'll give credit to the Associated Press for telling the full story.
What Is left out t is that people are more upset that Deen's deposition has roots in an employment discrimination lawsuit with a slew of ugly allegations, the most serious of which is that Deen enabled a hostile and racist work environment. Yes, most people say certain things that are ugly and stupid and wouldn't want to be judged for the rest of their lives for it, but there are exponentially fewer people who get smacked with an lawsuit.

It is what she said in her deposition and what was in Lisa Jackson's deposition that has her corporate sponsors dropping her, not her use of the N word.

Man, oh, man, you liberals and gays at TMZ have got a HARD ON for this woman. I think you are enjoying bashing this old Southern Woman just as much as you have enjoyed mocking Tim Tebow. So transparent. While using the N word is of course wrong, liberals just love seeing a traditionalist fall. See, this really, really isn't about racism. Anyone who has the appearance of being prim and proper and "old school" gets the sh!t treatment from you. Not surprising at all. It is typical behavior for ultra liberals and gays. Did you all ever stop to think that someone's entire life, which they have spent many years building, is being destroyed over the N word used many years ago and some questionable behavior. Does that seem fair? No. Total shame on all the endorsements and company joint ventures that dropped her. Cowards. Caving in to social pressure and political heat, without really stepping back to assess. And it is extremely interesting that some of her biggest defenders have been black. Why? Because they are still overwhelmingly traditionalist and Christians. And in their book, that, many times, trumps minor racist behavior. They somewhat get it. But the ultra liberals and gays do not. And that is what is really running this disgusting scapegoat show.
