CBS & 'Big Brother'

We're OFFENDED By

Our Racist Houseguests

The honchos at CBS tell TMZ ... they were certainly OFFENDED by several racist and homophobic comments made by the current "Big Brother" houseguests ... but hey, that's live programming for ya.

The houseguests have been under fire from what appears to be the ENTIRE INTERNET over the following comments:

-- GinaMarie referred to welfare as “n**ger insurance”
-- Aaryn called gay contestant Andy a "queer."
-- Spencer referred to Andy as “Kermit the F**" ... and praised Hitler as a gifted speaker.

CBS has released a statement to TMZ ... saying, "We certainly find the statements made by several of the Houseguests on the live Internet feed to be offensive."

However, The Eye points out that 24/7 live programming can sometimes reveal some bad things about people ... saying, "At times, the Houseguests reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone."

There have been rumors that Big Brother will be 86ing some of the offensive cast members -- but it certainly doesn't appear that's gonna happen.

Teach them a lesson. Just like it is being done to Paula Deen.

One of the guys--I believe it was Nick but I'm not 100% certain--commented on how tan he was getting and said he was going to start rapping soon. My jaw dropped.

Don't offend blacks, homosexuals and Jews. It's okay to offend all the rest.

Glad to hear they were offended, these groups don't seem to have a problem offending others when they shove their disgusting behavior in the faces of normal people. Get over it.

I hate to admit that BB is one of my guilty pleasures, but have enjoyed the show.

After reading the open letter from Ragan Fox (former contestant and college prof) about this stuff and reading what was said, am surprised CBS isn't doing more.

They need a ZERO tolerance policy on this stuff, some of it is WAY over the line.

Trying to figure out where that line is and when it is crossed may prove more troublesome than possible, though....

I in no way agree with the house guests comments/opinions, but I do not believe that CBS is responsible and/or should remove them. What happened to Paula Dean can not become the norm. This out for blood mentality is wrong! It lacks any proper education and just instills fear that you have to think what everyone thinks.

Great double standard here.
Paula Deen loses her entire career over admitting she used the N word once 30 years ago.
The morons on Big Brother get to keep saying whatever they want without so much as being called out or getting a slap on the wrist.
It makes no sense to me.

The television show is EDITED as it should be for it's on during 'family hour' , a 'PG' rating, with younger children, tweens , teens along with adults who watch the 'show' as a family, In reality, the majority of the TV viewers are not the ones who what the uncut live feeds,,,,, However, those watching the uncut live feeds & find them to be offensive in any way, 'always' have the option of 'not watching',,,,I agree, the cast is not exactly 'PC', however, this isn't the first season & most likely not the last. Again, for those live feeders who watch non edited live feeds, IMO, have the option to 'not watch' the live feeds that they find offensive & just watch the 'edited' television show instead should they wish. If unhappy with the show, that's the beauty of the remote control for it gives you the option to switch channels at any moment one shoud desire.... #choices
