Nigella Lawson's Hubby

Files for Divorce

I'll Teach You, Bitch!

7/7/2013 10:23 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The husband of famous TV cooker Nigella Lawson has gone from the throat to the jugular -- filing for divorce because his wife didn't come to his defense after he choked her in public.

Yeah, you read right.

Charles Saatchi -- the mega-wealthy art collector who famously put his hands around Lawson's throat last month outside a famous London restaurant in plain view of paparazzi -- issued a statement announcing the divorce:

"I feel that I have clearly been a disappointment to Nigella during the last year or so, and I am disappointed that she was advised to make no public comment to explain that I abhor violence of any kind against women, and have never abused her physically in any way."

Saatchi got a warning from cops to not do it again. Boy, those Brits are forgiving.

But Saatchi wasn't done. He went on to blame Nigella, saying they had drifted apart over the last year and essentially admitting that he went to town on her throat:

"The row photographed at Scott's Restaurant could equally have been Nigella grasping my neck to hold my attention -- as indeed she has done in the past."

So what should happen to Saatchi? Please advise in comment section.

This is one case where it was good that the paps were around to take the photos. I don't know if witnesses can be brought in in divorce cases, but if something more than just the photos is needed, I hope the paps who were there to witness it and take photos can help her get the most out of this sack of **** in the settlement.

Nigella needs to pick up what little self-esteem he has left her with and never look back. I did...and found peace.

if women keep giving men a pass the first and second and third time they do it then men will never understand. Men should not abuse anyone and women should not abuse anyone. when a man lays a hand on a woman she should charge him and leave.... no forgiveness. Letting it happen is the same as condoning it; at least it appears to be in a lot of men's minds.

The nerve of Nigella, not defending him! LOL He should publicly apologize, to her! He seems to be a nasty old money sort of guy, who is shut out of British society. You know how the "English" are! You're never "one of them". But Nigella's no angel either. She took up with this guy while her husband (John Diamond) was dying, and moved in with him 9 months after her husband's death. Not sure if he was divorced from wife #2 yet. Maybe time for all to move on.

Mother Nature

"So what should happen to Saatchi?"

He should be made to understand his behaviour is not acceptable via a method he truly understands: through his wallet.

More public humiliation would also be nice, and perhaps several hundred hours of community service tossed in for good measure.

He can help Nigella Lawson by continuing to make idiotic comments and pulling bone-head stunts.

He's a disgusting human being, and elicits absolutely no sympathy.

Solution: fundraiser for charity!!!!

Winning bid gets to choke Saatchi at a trendy outdoor restaurant of his or her choice.

Said like the perfect abusive spouse...SHE did not DEFEND HIM for choking her...clearly choking her...and there were about 5 or 6 photos from the wasn't for a brief moment (not that that would matter), but he held her like that for at least a few seconds. You could see in her eyes that she's not shocked by his behavior; clearly he has done this before. And you can see him gesticulating at her for some horrible infraction she must have committed. He's an abusive and rich man, so he'll be just fine. Jerk.

I must say, I really do admire Nigella Lawson sticking to her guns after suffering domestic violence at the hands of media mogul Charles Saatchi. We see so many women buckle here through intimidation and lack of self-esteem, but not this lady.

We finally see the attitude the Saatchi company and it's subsidiaries have towards women, domestic violence and abuse. It will be very interesting to note which companies have and will stay on their books after this. Complacency will speak volumes in this case...
