'High School Musical' Star

Judge Orders His Parents to Fork Over $330k

7/8/2013 3:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0707_Chris-Warren_getty"High School Musical" star Chris Warren is singing a happy tune these days, because a judge recently awarded him $330,000 ... from his own parents.

As TMZ first reported, Warren sued his mom ("Passions" actress Brook Kerr) and dad, (Christopher Warren Sr., not famous) claiming they established a trust for him back in 2001 for all the money he made as a minor, but were secretly dipping into it ... big time.

Neither of Chris' parents ever responded to the suit, despite being properly served, so the judge sided with Chris ... to the tune of $337,186.68.

Now that's what we call an allowance.

Oh sure he won the suit. But if his parents dont have 337k then he isnt gonna get 337k People who sue for money don't realize that.

He's 23, & they really need to change the laws again so that child actors don't end up with their parents or legal guardians spending everything they earned.

Even if he does not get the full amount awarded to him.. he, & anyone else that sues will have the satisfaction of standing up & putting a stop to whatever wrong that was done to them !!

If parents relocated to get their child into acting.. I can understand using some of the money for family expenses until everyone finds work.. but bankrolling your life off of your kid's hard work is just wrong !!!

Lovely parents, stealing from there own child. If that is true they should be prosecuted. Then to not even have the balls to show-up,is sickening. I hope he manages his money well and don't ever trust anyone else with your money, especially not family, they will screw you over faster than a stranger wll.

I never understand why parents do that. That's messed up.

I thought that trust funds were untouchable until the child is of majority age. I also thought the parents or any guardian had to go through the courts with a good reason for needing to withdraw from the fund.
