George Zimmerman

Not Off the Hook (Maybe) ...

FEDS Could Prosecute

7/14/2013 3:25 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

The U.S. Department of Justice is now investigating the shooting death of Trayvon Martin ... meaning, if slapped with federal charges, George Zimmerman could face jail time -- even after his not guilty verdict.

The DOJ issued a statement Sunday ... revealing they are looking into the case, evaluating the evidence (including testimony from the State trial) -- and will determine whether or not federal prosecutors should file criminal civil rights charges against Zimmerman.

Here's why it's important ... Zimmerman was found not guilty on Saturday of both second-degree murder and manslaughter when tried by the State of Florida -- and is technically a free man.

But since the news broke ... civil-rights activists have been up in arms, like Al Sharpton and the NAACP who are clamoring for the DOJ to bring civil rights charges against Zimmerman.

If the Feds decide to go through with new criminal charges ... then a jail sentence is back on the table.

Although, according to legal experts, it will be an uphill battle to prove in court that Zimmerman was motivated solely by race.

I think GZ acted foolishly and that this could & should have been prevented. That said, if the state couldn't convince a jury of 6 women (5 mothers) that this wasn't self defense, then I don't see how they could possibly convince a separate jury that it was purely racially driven. We'll flush tax dollars down the toilet and be left with exactly the same outcome.

Ah yes... the usual. If we can't get him with one court, let's throw out the Constitutional ban on double jeopardy and try him on spurious new charges. They did that with the cops in the Rodney King case, too. And there will be the civil case, taking everything he has because a sympathetic jury will cry and moan about the poor boy.

"Not Guilty" should mean "NOT GUILTY". In other words, he was justified in killing the boy. Period.

Again: May The True and Living Yahweh bless the
Martin and Zimmerman families, respectively.
While you may disagree with the -Jury- verdict, it must be respected.
Meanwhile, those who are attempting to exploit this tragedy - including ABC,CNN, "Civil-Rights" leaders- are grossly inexcusable.
Rioters, once again, are merely enemies of the
U.S. Constitution: Cowardly, traitors.

So a want-2-B-Cop meets a want-2-B-Thug and as it should be the want-2-B-Cop wins.

So tired of hearing how how George zimmerman is White. His father is white and his mother is Hispanic. Thus, saying George Zimmerman’s race is white is not exactly accurate.

His true ethnicity is half white American and half Peruvian since his mom is from the country of

What I heard is that the DOJ just got a petition today from the NAACP demanding that they pursue a federal civil rights charge. The DOJ is then responding to that petition.

If they can get a petition up and filed that fast, then why can't George's supporters? If the pro-George Zimmerman people file a petition asking that the case be dropped, then they would have to consider that as well.

Seeing how there is no evidence of even a crime being committed, what would be the civil rights violation? It would just waste more government time and money. I know the people in DC are into doing that, what with 100 million dollar safari vacations, but it really doesn't make any sense.

If they start threatening a civil suit, George can file right back and i bet earn himself and his legal team a heap of money for defamation of character.

Here are some facts: More African Americans in America are killed every year than the total number of U.S. service men and women that have died in ten years of armed conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan. To add, 93% of African Americans are killed by African Americans. Chances are, most haven’t heard this from the Obama Media Group. Why not? They don’t want you to know the truth. Neither do Obama, Sharpton or Farrakhan. It is a sad reality that African Americans kill more members of their own race every year than do all other races in America – combined. All while that particular community makes up only 12.5% of the U.S. population. Yet, today's "black leaders" tend to pay attention only to the matters that fit their political agendas. Yes, this includes the funding of protests based SOLELY on their biased opinions. This, by no means, justifies the killing of a young black man. The reason I point this out is because the internet is currently flooded with irrational perceptions of what truly is. You cannot have selective unity. It must be in full. You cannot let your emotions rule out all logic and fact. Al Sharpton does NOT care about black people he cares about his pockets, and perms!!! Anyone who disagrees needs to go read a book.

If Trayvon has been compared to Emmett Till by his families lawyers, how is it fair that the DOJ is going to look into filing charges against Zimmerman, yet they refused to file charges against Carolyn Bryant.
