The Boston supermarket chain Roche Bros. is also boycotting the magazine -- a rep tells TMZ, "When Roche Bros. learned of the cover for the current issue of Rolling Stone, we chose not to offer that product for sale in our stores. We join with our customers and neighbors in focusing on the recovery of the victims and our community."

Walgreens and Stop & Shop have also boycotted the magazine.

CVS
apparently believes the First Amendment has limits ... because the pharmacy chain just announced it won't hawk the latest issue of Rolling Stone, featuring Boston Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the cover.

A rep for CVS says "As a company with deep roots in New England and a strong presence in Boston, we believe this is the right decision out of respect for the victims of the attack and their loved ones."

It's kind of a bizarre reaction, since the story is about how Tsarnaev "fell into radical Islam and became a monster."

So we gotta ask ...

Harvey is a lawyer... he doesn't know what the First Amendment means? Dear God guess that is why his bar membership has been inactive for almost 20 years.

CVS is a privately held corp and they can choose to carry or not carry any magazine they like. It has zero to do with the First Amendment.

They should have done a story about the victims instead.

Your wrong TMZ (not surprised), but the first amendment works both ways. Rolling Stone has the right to publish and CVS has the right not to sell it or most of us not buy it. No one is stopping R.S. from exercising their rights!! Everyone else has rights too.

The first amendment says they have the right to say it, print it...etc. It does not however say that, as a society, we have to accept it. So, this is our formal comment to Rolling Stone---f*ck you.

Just like Rolling Stone's has the 'right' to publish it, companies, chain stores, individuals...etc, have the right not to see it or buy it.

The reality is, I think in some cases bad press is good press when it comes to stuff like this. But, for Rolling Stone, I think they took the wrong gamble.

In other words, the 1st Amendment doesn't mean much here. We never said they couldn't print it, we're just saying we refuse to acknowledge, view, or buy it.

How many of you guys really buy this magazine anyway? Do you not get that he is on the cover to prevent terrorism. The article is anti-terrorism not anti-American. Why is society so dumb. Thank you lil Wayne and 2 Chainz. You have succeeded

What's so different about RS having a cover like this. Pretty sure we glorify terrorists/mass murderers, etc.. on tv and magazines every day of the year. I really don't get why people are upset. Why does RS get slammed while other magazines put killers on their covers.

this magazine cover has nothing to do with democracy, it has to do with people becoming celebrities in the wrong way. Its a disgraceful thing for our young people to see. too many bad things have happened to the country in the name of "against the constitution" like God out of the country and prayer out of schools etc.

I also need to comment on the marine who said its o.k. to urinate on bodies of the taliban. They are our ememy its o.k. to kill them in war. But marines are supposed to be respectful and an example to our young men. Its not "macho" to piss on a body. We are a family of Marines Viet Nam, Korea, Desert Storm and Iraq. one is in Afghanistan now. Purple heart winners none of them would piss on a body !!
