Boycotting Our Cover is a

0717_rollingstone_bomberBostonians upset by the new Rolling Stone cover -- featuring Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev -- need to grow up and learn from the tragedy that rocked their city ... according to the magazine's editors.

The editors just released a statement, saying their hearts go out to the Boston bombing victims -- but "the cover story we are publishing this week falls within the traditions of journalism and Rolling Stone's longstanding commitment to serious and thoughtful coverage."

The statement continues, "The fact that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is young, and in the same age group as many of our readers, makes it all the more important for us to examine the complexities of this issue and gain a more complete understanding of how a tragedy like this happens."

In other words, we're exercising our 1st Amendment rights to investigate a terrorist -- so, stop burying your heads in the sand, people.

As we reported, CVS and the Boston-based Roche Bros. supermarkets have boycotted the latest issue of the magazine because of its controversial cover ... saying it's disrespectful to the victims.

That's right when foreign (colored) terrorists attack they are vermin but when domestic (white) terrorists attack they were somehow led astray or brainwashed. **** you RS

Rolling Stone's editors are often irresponsible in its coverage.

I know first-hand that it has run stories that were incomplete and only half the story. But this is America . . . screw accuracy, right?

I think Rolling Stone is right on the money. Putting a FACE to the what humanity in America has become. Complain all you want about it...but it's the truth in your face!

Wow ...

I can't imagine people are outraged about the article, but about putting this terror suspect on the cover and "glamorizing" him.

It's not like they're trying to make him the next teen idol.
If it's a serious piece of journalism, there's no problem with it.
The Ayatollah and Hitler were both Time Magazine's Person of the Year once, you know.

Nothing new. Rolling Stone has always done this. They put Charles Manson on the cover.

Rolling Stone jumped the shark years ago.
It's now a worthless rag trying for publicity in honoring a terrorist to put its name back in the news.
FOR SHAME THIS COVER WILL BACKFIRE FOREVER!

That's all fine and good, but why not use his mug shot , instead of his smoldering selfie. I understand that they are trying to say he could be any unassuming young guy, but damn, the dude killed people and it hurts to see his face. Maybe have some compassion. Bad move RS

CVS is just stupid. Read the article, people. If this was a "news" magazine, CVS wouldn't have pulled it. Rolling Stone has some great investigative journalism, unlike the mainstream media in this country and Fox News.

Pressure should be put on the advertisers of the issue to speak out about Rolling Stone's f**ked up attitude. It's bad enough that they make such an A**ININE misstep, but then they have the never to try and pass it off as journalism.

Would Tsarnaev be on the cover is he wasn't attractive? Would he be on the cover if he were young and darker skinned? It looks like Rolling Stone is trying to turn him into some kind of rock superstar. Tsarnaev has no business on the cover of this magazine.

Rolling Stone has gone down in quality over the years, but I still pick up a copy. I won't make that mistake again. However, I will make a trip to my local bookstore and see who are some of their biggest advertisers this month.

Screw you Rolling Stone!
