Boycotting Our Cover is a

0717_rollingstone_bomberBostonians upset by the new Rolling Stone cover -- featuring Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev -- need to grow up and learn from the tragedy that rocked their city ... according to the magazine's editors.

The editors just released a statement, saying their hearts go out to the Boston bombing victims -- but "the cover story we are publishing this week falls within the traditions of journalism and Rolling Stone's longstanding commitment to serious and thoughtful coverage."

The statement continues, "The fact that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is young, and in the same age group as many of our readers, makes it all the more important for us to examine the complexities of this issue and gain a more complete understanding of how a tragedy like this happens."

In other words, we're exercising our 1st Amendment rights to investigate a terrorist -- so, stop burying your heads in the sand, people.

As we reported, CVS and the Boston-based Roche Bros. supermarkets have boycotted the latest issue of the magazine because of its controversial cover ... saying it's disrespectful to the victims.

Haven't looked at an issue of RS in years and am glad of that.

.

Publishing an article on this Muslim TERRORIST is one thing, but putting a photo, and even worse that particular photo, on the cover just crosses the line.

.

Disgusting, just disgusting.

I have no problem with an article about the whole situation, but having him on the cover is a big F U to everyone affected by it. The magazine has gone so far in the last 5 years it's not interesting to read. If I still had a subsciption i would surely cancel it now (and send back the issue, since they continue to send you issues years after cancel sometimes.)
I hope this is their lowest selling issue ever and it hurts them. Screw RS for trying to justify it as well.

Just another case of sensationalizing the murderer! ....I will never buy another issue..

the RS editors NEED TO "GROW UP" and stop being insensitive a@#holes to the victims and their families.

I'm sure if this was one of YOUR family members, or friends or family of the people who lived thru this nightmare, that have had their lives turned upside down.....had limbs blown off, with lives that will never be the same...you'd be singing a different tune!!!

SHAMEFUL Rolling Stones Editors!!!

Unfortunately religion is all fake and there is no hell where people go for accusing this kid of doing the bombing. No one has any evidence, yet they know enough to condemn him to death. Good luck in the afterlife mother****ers.

I see nothing wrong with the cover. It was news wasn't it?????

White people got their drawers bunched in a knot about a picture on the cover of a magazine but want black people to shut up about the murder of an unarmed black kid. WTF

Addressing the issues behind what he did, what he became...fine, totally makes sense. However, to put him on the cover to glorify HIM, is absolutely f*u*c*k*e*d up!! That is exactly what is wrong with our media, you glorify the people responsible for these heinous crimes, but completely ignore the survivors/victims. You just gave the next person thinking about doing this, just another reason why they should...attention attention attention.

Hey Googie #2 - I totally agree. Rolling Stone has NO BUSINESS putting that little pr*cks face on the front of their mag. Hes a freaking terrorist for Gods sake!!! That was in very bad taste. I wonder what that girl who lost both legs from the bombing thinks about that??? Do an article on him, yeah, but he should NOT be on the front of that magazine like hes some kind of rock star or something!!!!! Its like spitting in the faces of all the people who were hurt and suffered from the Boston bombing. BOYCOTT this issue of ROLLING STONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's new. The USA is a banana republic with lowering standards by the day. The left and media elite will have us a 3rd world nation before you know it.

This guy is on the cover because he looks like a 60's-70's rocker, that's the bottom line and that's sad. No need to read the article, it's all about the picture.

I don't mind if he is on the cover of the Rolling Stone as long as there bruises, cuts and blood on his face. This picture of him kinda smiling is terrible.

How about putting that guy who lost both of his legs on the cover? A cover is a celebration of subject, and why do they want to celebrate a domestic terrorist?
