Amanda Bynes Driveway Fire

Rap Producer To The Rescue

7/28/2013 12:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0726_amanda_bynes_driveway_cleaned_article_tmzGood News!!! Someone has stepped up and PAID for the damages caused by the driveway fire Amanda Bynes set at an elderly woman's home a few days ago.

But there's more to the story ... and it involves Amanda's aspirations to become a rap star. Allow us to explain ...

The good Samaritan who paid for the driveway cleanup is Daniel Herman -- who owns Chinga Chang Records, an East coast hip hop record label.

Daniel tells TMZ he's been following Amanda's journey to become a rap star and would love nothing more than to sign her to his label.

That being said, Daniel says when he saw the damage Amanda caused at the elderly woman's home, he wanted to help -- so he called the woman, Bonnie Braaten, and asked for permission to bankroll the cleanup. She agreed ... and he happily cut a check for the $1,000 job.

So, is Daniel a good guy who saw an opportunity ... or is he an opportunist posing as a good guy?

Either way ... Bonnie tells TMZ she's happy for Daniel's help and is looking forward to moving on with her life.

Not sure if this guy has seen some 'Amanda' no one else is seeing or she just alters personality around the right people.. but either way, he paid for the damages and he didn't have to. Doesn't sound like he called the paps to come film some cash exchange so good for him and her since her parents said they won't do it. I'm more worried about her issue with her parents, where have they been until just this week? Now they want to control everything 'after' the police and judge ordered the psych eval, to which their first response was 'we aren't paying for the fire damages'. If there is anything fishy going on it's with them. Why didn't they try and help her sooner, seems like there is past issues that they didn't get along , yet the parents didn't seem concerned then that it was a mental illness. Now they are worried that she can't take care of herself?? .. oh and of course she's going through alot of their, I mean her four million dollar savings account.

It says the guy personally asked the woman if he could pay for the clean up. She said yes and he cut a check. Maybe she took the $1000 and then had a friend come do a power washer job.. just because he gave her $1000 doesn't mean he went out and found the company and paid for actual job.

Just what someone should have done, clean up her mess, she will never take responsibility for anything, just like Lilo.

if they paid them $1000 to clean that up. they . Did a horrible job..the only thing they did was make it a little later other than that they have ripped off... And I hope Amanda gets all the proper attention that she definitely needs,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

power washing does not cost 1,000 especially in cali where illegal immigrants are plentiful.

You can still see the spots. I'm sorry, but if someone causes 1000 dollars of damage to someone's home how is that not a crime? Is it because the owner refused to press charges? I'm confused

The amount of publicity he'll get from this $1,000 makes it all well worth it. TMZ rose to the bait, lets see how many other media outlets do too.

For $1,000, they should have sanded down and patched the concrete. The obviously power-washed it, which was inadequate, and should not have cost more than $100 or 200, tops.

Ummm...all they did was power wash it. He got ripped off, but good, I'm glad since he's just using Amanda for the publicity.

Does this guy realize that if she were not mentally ill she probably wouldn't want anything to do with rap music. She got into it more as her illness progressed. Which doesn't say much for that venture.

Daniel Herman, some big producer,...wants to "rescue" Amanda from getting mental health treatment.......even before she's been committed? All he's thinking about is how to exploit this nut for money for himself!
