Church of Scientology

BLASTS LEAH REMINI

Over Missing Person Report

The Church of Scientology is spewing venom at Leah Remini for daring to file a report with the LAPD ... claiming the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige is missing.

A Church rep claims Leah cooked up the allegation "with unemployed, anti-religious zealots."

Leah -- who broke ties with Scientology last month -- was alarmed that Shelly Miscavige hasn't been seen publicly in 6 years.  The LAPD closed out its investigation last night, and as TMZ first reported, cops say they had a face to face with Shelly.  They did not indicate if they probed as to whether Shelly was being held against her will.

The Church rep calls Leah's actions "an inexcusable distraction for the LAPD."

And the Church took this shot:  "Sadly, rather than move on with her life and career, Ms. Remini has aligned herself with a handful of untrustworthy, lunatic tabloid sources who obsessively harass the Church to advance their selfish agendas."

Someone is pissed.

I'm, thankfully, not a religious person. I mean no disrespect to those that are, honestly, but IN MY LIFE, I've only ever really been in contact with religious people who just don't know when to quit. Scientology is no different than any other religion. They believe what they believe and there are those that keep their views to themselves and those that try to push it on every person they come into contact with. HOWEVER, a friend of mine broke free from Scientology (her family still remains with them) and they (and pretty much everyone she knew) completely disowned her. From what she told me, based on her personal experience, it's not so much a religion as it is a controlling cult. It's shocking some of the things she told me about. To me, all religions sound crazy, but this one a little more so than some others.

That so-called church is nothing but selfish. I don't doubt that those cops were bought off. They don't Cate about anything but money and getting people to join that cult. If they can keep the wife of the current leader hidden for six years can you imagine what they could do to someone that isn't connected to a public figure? That is a scary thought.

My religion/spiritual life is about love and tolerance of others and most importantly FORGIVENESS - this whackado religion nauseates me by even having the word CHURCH in it's name - read the facts - this is more of a house of horrors and mind control then it is a house of Worship!

Should anyone of my realm of friends disappear without explanation, I would be very concerned way before 6 years passed. Should it be a person who is and/or was an important component of a social circle I was involved in in depth, I'd also be equally concerned. This lady was definitely on the social radar for the group. She was definitely within the definition of "realm of friends" for Leah and her family. Leah wasn't the first person alarmed at her disappearance and certainly won't be the last to continue to be alarmed, as "appearing" doesn't mean a great deal with a group notorious for their control issues not to mention alleged heavy handed enforcement.

You don't make one of the first ladies of any religious/political/social circles just dis-a-friggin'-pear without question, inquiry or protest. Not anywhere. Certainly not in a religious group. The arrogance is astronomical.

The query is 5 years too late if you ask me. Hell, someone needs to check with adult protective services with the state of california to do a welfare check on this woman. She's breathing and that's the only thing verified at this point.

The insults against Leah made by the church at this juncture scream they have a helluva lot to hide. Protest too much while snarling? I think so.

Not sure why Leah would want to mess with this Group; its like poking a hornets nest with a stick. You're out, be happy about that and move on.

I keep hearing "being seen publicly," which is way different from not being seen at all. So which is it? I hope Leah has her will in current order because if she keeps this up she's not going to be around much longer.

Good to see a "Church" rip its former followers like the "Church" of Scientology.

In addition to all the bad press the 'religion" (ROTLMAO) gets and given how they ex-communicate former followers . . . this should be more than enough evidence that Scientology is a cult.

From the fringe of the internet, I give a shout out to Leah Remini for doing what anyone who was GENUINELY CONCERNED about the well-being of a friend would do. After asking and asking and not getting any response she did what any responsible friend would do. A REAL publicity stunt would have been to allege Shelly was missing in the media and then DO NOTHING.
That is not Leah Remini’s nature

If anyone else had they're wife locked up for 6 years where no one saw them, they couldn't come and go as they pleased, they'd be charged with unlawful confinement and doing time. Not these nuts. Seeing as COS has the LAPD in their back pocket, they get a free pass. Take it up a level or two and investigate the cult, shut it down and let the imprisoned, brainwashed, free!
