'Criminal Minds' Star

I Didn't Cheat on My Wife

... We're Separated

8/20/2013 12:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"Criminal Minds" star Thomas Gibson wasn't pulling a fast one on his wife by conducting an online relationship with a shameless catfisher -- sources tell TMZ, the actor and his wife have been separated for years.

Sources close to the couple tell us, Gibson and his estranged wife Christine Gibson still live together for the sake of their children, but they've been separated for 2-and-a-half years ... six months before Thomas started messing around with one of his Twitter fans.

As we reported, Gibson and the woman -- who catfished him by posing as a porn star -- carried on a heated relationship for two years before Gibson discovered the entire thing was a sham ... he even sent her a sexy hot tub video (it's hilarious).

Bottom line: Gibson might be a sucker ... but he's no cheater.

Before everyone jumps on the I HATE THOMAS GIBSON bandwagon people need to realize that there is another participant who lied to him then after sending the video ran with her tail between her legs if she was a human being at all she would come forward but she is a COWARD!

Dear Thomas, I'm not sure you can read this, but I hope so.

I don't know you, and I cannot call myself a fan of yours, but I do know Hotch, the fictional hero you portray (who does not exist in real world ), and I am a true Hotch's admirer.

This fictional hero inspired me and encouraged me during the darkest period of my career, companied me though my middle age professional life crisis. For that, I owe you a big "Thank you!"

And I never said that to you, but I think now, this week is the appropriate moment to tell you so!

I am sorry I googled CM on net and find by occident this piece of news. Frankly talking, I am not shocked, and I don't understand this (sorry) a little childish, silly video is a big deal. What surprised me most is the media's move and mob's reaction.

I am more interested in Hotch'life, care more about the character development (which I am quite upset since S6 to S8). but not yours, not because I am not one fan of yours, because I think people love for good or for bad, for true or for fake, is totally their own life and business, not mine.

And we are unable to judge the nature of fact based on gossips and rumors, and we have no right to point fingers on the others on totally ignoring we are too flawed human being like the others we judged.

I like Criminal Minds but some episodes not all. like the quotes, most of them, not all. I remember them not all but a lot.

"When you look long into the abyss, the abyss also looks into you."

"No man or woman who tries to pursue an ideal in his or her own way is without enemies.

"There is no formula for success except perhaps an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.

"What though the radiance that was once so bright, be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower; We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind."

These quotes and your Hotch indeed inspired me and encourage me when those days, I found I almost lost the only thing I have in life, the only thing which I worked so hard to get, the only thing I gave all my energy, my youth. When those days, I found the family still rely on me, just I could not rely on them, the bosses, the subordinates, the peers suddenly become strangers or worse, my horrible enemies, when those days, I felt so lonely, so anxious, so stressed and so angry.

I know in today's world, it is odd to learn and get strength from a fictional hero, and
I am just a middle age middle class white collar, a workaholic, who is good on business, bad on politics, and my job is not a noble job, like FBI agent.

But still, I owe you a big "Thank you" for portray Hotch and to inspire me.

The development of technology indeed provides us entertainment, enjoyment, convenience... but the development of technology also exposes people, humiliate people, hurts people with such convenience, with "0" distance,"0" tolerance, '0" mercy! But it is not the fault of new technology, it is the fault of the mob, the so call popular mind. People just get bored, need more reality shows, pay more attention to find someone else dirt to shame them, to humiliate them, to entertain themselves, in order to insure themselves that they are better human being than the others.

As human being, everyone has dark side, has flaw, has something to be shamed for, has some guilty has some regrets.

We feel more embarrassed, and humiliated when our failure, our vulnerability and our weakness are enlarged and exposed in front of public eyes. But we have no choice, but only stand up, and move on, without looking back from our shoulders. That's also courage.

Bon Courage et Bonne Chance!

Every one of us goes through rough times in our lives and we can never predict how we are going to act during that period. I don't care who a person is - rich or poor, brilliant or average - we just don't know. It is so sad and disgusting to see how this situation is playing out – the pain that it is causing not only an individual, but his family, friends, co-workers, etc. To the media who keep rehashing this story over and over again and to the negative responders – how can you even look at yourself in the mirror? How can you point a finger at this individual and his family? Are YOU all saints? Is YOUR life so picture perfect that you do no wrong? How would YOU feel if YOU were being treated like this when you are “less than perfect” in your life? Does it make you a bigger person by condemning someone who is down and out? Remember one thing – what goes around comes around and every one of us will be in a difficult situation at one time in our lives. Wait until it’s your turn. I hope people will react to you the same way you are reacting to him. Then you will know how it feels. To Mr. Gibson, his family and friends, please know that there are people out there who do understand what all of you are going through and wish you the strength to take one step at a time towards healing and peace. There are people who truly care. And to anyone who knows someone experiencing a
crises in their lives, please be there to support them – even if that means keeping your negative opinions to yourselves. Everyone deserves this courtesy. And one day, when you need it, this courtesy will be extended to you.

I don't know why he's called cheater, since it's obvious he's never even seen this woman, let alone did some incriminating stuff with her. Sure it's not something to be proud of, but it's not that awful either.

But what he did was royally careless and he really should know better. I'm sad it all came to this, because I enjoyed his blogging and his tweets and pics were quite fun.

I sure hope all will be well for him and his family and they'll be able to put this all behind them.

I am so sorry Thomas Gibson is separated; that must be really devastating for the children. They both looked so happy to gether. Hopefully there could be a reconcile in the works, I think thats why he started to lose weight so much. Had he started to drink and maybe thats what caused
separation. Surely he can remedy his situation
and become a family again, hopefully we shall keep hoping.
