Major Drug Org.

SCREW KITSON

We're Not Taking Donations from Rx Shirt Sales

One of the biggest anti-drug organizations in the U.S. has drawn a hard line in the sand -- telling a trendy L.A. clothing boutique it will NOT accept donations collected from the sale of "irresponsible" drug-inspired shirts.

The shirts in question have been at the center of a media firestorm  -- featuring the names of various prescription drugs like Xanax and Vicodin plastered across the back.

After taking all sorts of heat, Kitson -- the boutique selling the shirts -- has said it would donate part of the profits to the Medicine Abuse Project ... a partner of DrugFree.org.

But DrugFree.org is pushing back HARD -- firing off a letter to Kitson saying, "We would not entertain any direct donation from Kitson while you flagrantly, and without remorse, continue to sell these products."

Translation -- take your money and stick it.

DrugFree.org also demanded Kitson remove the org.'s name from the store's website -- and Kitson has obliged.

As for the shirts, Kitson is still dealing ...

Sleazy. My wife says kitson is a tramp store. No class. She wouldn't be caught dead there.

The pearl-clutching posters on this board are pretending that the culture doesn't already celebrate recreational prescription drug use.

Nice to see that Kitson likes to promote drug use to its young customers. As if kids nowadays weren't messed up enough already - they have no sense of responsability, and making these drugs look "cool" cos they are on a shirt, well, you do the math.

Mr. Litchenberg's justification of this line of shirts "in the name of art" is preposterous and insults the intelligence of America. Their design as sports jerseys inarguably seeks to glorifies the drugs in the same manner as we do athletes - an interesting dichotomy to say the least. His ridiculous attempt to legitimize this overt sales tactic reeks of what is worst in retail. Following your warped line of thought Brian can we next expect to see jerseys with "Jack Daniels" and "Jim Beam" on them? Oh sorry -Too late. They're already available at truck stops across America, which is right where your creations belong - right next to the Velvet Elvis "art".

Oh hell all these big companies have to get over themselves. Take the money who cares where it comes from...politicians do it all the time. Put it to good use and have a chuckle at the cool shirts. As for the drug companies....come on guys its great advertizing....everyone will want the drugs the pro athletes are taking....
