Michael Douglas' Ex-Wife

'I Stand By Michael...

Let Me See My Son!'

9/23/2013 12:45 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Michael Douglas and his ex-wife -- who once battled bitterly -- are in lockstep over what they call the barbaric treatment of their imprisoned son ... TMZ has learned.

Diandra De Morrell Douglas tells TMZ ... their son Cameron has been treated like an animal while in solitary confinement at the Cumberland Federal Prison in Maryland.  He's serving 10 years for heroin possession and conspiracy to distribute narcotics.  Cameron failed a drug test in prison and was placed in solitary until recently.

As you know ... Michael talked about Cameron after winning an Emmy for "Behind the Candelabra," saying he wants to visit his son badly but isn't allowed.

Diandra tells us when Cameron got out of solitary he couldn't walk in the daylight, because his skin would burn because it couldn't adapt after living in an underground hole for so long.  His hair is also falling out.

Diandra says even though Cameron is out of solitary, part of his punishment is no visitors.

We called prison officials ... they were very abrupt with us, and said everything's confidential.

Should not of broken the law. Or done drugs while in prison. Prison is harsh for a reason because your too dumb to figure it out like normal people. I went to prison it is no picnic but it can also be a very rewarding and good experience if you want it to be.

Their son was in there for drugs, he tested positive for drugs, he is treated the same as.everyone else. He shouldn't get 'Special' treatment because his dad is famous.

What do they expect a summer camp. Their son has been given chance after chance before finally been given jail time. Once in jail he continued to use drugs and his family act as if he is the victim. They need to stop making excuses for him.

It is a good example of how the war on drugs are failing. If the only option the society has is solitary confinement to a person who suffers from an illness then it is not only waste of money which could be spent on fighting real criminals, it is lost case for the society at all.

He would have killed himself at some point due to his illness, but it should be his choice only whether he wants to die or not.

Damien Echols from the West Memphis 3 spent years in solitary and was white as a ghost. He never complained about sunburn and hair loss.
Had Cameron kept his nose clean he would have been out in under 3 years, but he's a hopeless case. At the rate he's going he may never get out.

Their son is being treated like any other drug pusher and criminal. Why is it that Michael and his ex wife think he should be given preferential treatment? Who do they think they are?

Michael Douglas chose his career over being a father to Cameron as he was growing up. The lack of this father role made Cameron wayward . Michael now expects the system to relax the rules where his repeat drug pushing son is concerned. It is wrong that Michael aired his frustrations on national TV, simply to gain public sympathy. Shame on him, and for being a bad father.

It's hard for me to feel sorry for someone who has had every advantage in the world to be successful and he blew it.

Let me see my son. Is what the parents of the dead parents said after buying drugs from their son .

That's probably his body missing all that drugs!! Part of me feels sorry for him because it seems as if he grew up with nannies taking care of him. That's what money does and people not using it wisely. Yet Hollyweird won't learn

It's jail not party town.
Rules and consequences.
It's not a complicated concept.

It is simple.
If you do not want to be a heroin addict....
Never try heroin.
If you do not want to shoot yourself in the head....
Never point a gun at your own head.
