Sylvia Browne

World Famous Psychic DEAD

11/20/2013 6:13 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

World famous psychic Sylvia Browne -- who appeared on all sorts of TV shows including "Montel" "Larry King Live" and "Unsolved Mysteries" -- has passed away .. TMZ has learned.

Browne specialized in psychic detective work, and attempted to help on several missing person cases ... with varying results.

Browne's son, Chris, tells TMZ ... Sylvia passed away this morning in San Jose, surrounded by family and friends.  She was 77.

Browne most recently took heat after famously announcing that Amanda Berry had died after she went missing in 2003 ... because, as we all know now, she wasn't dead.  Sylvia chalked up the misinformation as a simple mistake.

The following message was just posted on Sylvia's Facebook page, "Sylvia graduated today. She was surrounded by family and friends. What a legacy. She shared so much. We will carry on her knowledge with hypnosis and Journey of the Soul and her many books. What a great party they must be having on the Other Side. Bless everyone."

What a respectful way to honor a person's life. to add a blooper reel to their death announcement.

I wonder what George Nooray will say about her on Coast to Coast tonight. He was not a big fan of Brownes, kicked her off the show for life because she was a phony. She seemed nice though, RIP

Seeing as she made a living out of talking to the dead, is she talking to herself now?

She was a total fake and liar. My brother is a cameraman; he told me she made up an entire ghost story in the car on the way to a show taping. My brother was in the car with her and she spun the whole story out of some feedback that was in the camera. Sylvia blew it into an entire FAKE spiritual incident with the camera as a conduit to the bond. She alo told one of the families f the Arial Castro victims that the girl was dead - one of the women who was rescued this year.

She allegedly once predicted that she'd die at 88 -- only off by ten years..

Good riddance to bad rubbish. She caused untold suffering to many. She was a fraud and a liar who made a living off the misery of others. There is a special place in hell reserved for people like her.

Not a huge fan of Sylvia Browne... her ridiculous fees, her bad predictions (like telling kidnap victim Ben Ownby's parents he was dead and after the Montel show offered to take them to where she saw him buried for a "nominal" fee) - Amanda Berry - she said on live radio during the big mine collapse the miners would be found. When they all died she bluntly stated, "I never said they'd be found alive." THAT BEING SAID... The poll, "Saw it coming, didn't see it coming" is a bit over the top considering she just passed away. R.I.P. Sylvia.

Rest In peace! There may be negative comments, and haters but the people making the comments won't be famous.. This woman did something she believed in, she talked to spirit and the one time she was wrong everyone was out to call her a fake. Even psychics get it wrong sometimes.. It don't mean they are fake..

Even though she may have been a "hack" or a fraud or whatever you may call her or think of her, she was a person. She had a family, friends that loved her, and a life. I have a friend on Facebook who commented "Good Riddance" to her passing away and it really ticked me off. Anyway, rant over, Rest in Peace Sylvia.
