Paul Walker

Final Moments Before Fatal Ride [Photo]

12/1/2013 8:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Moments before Paul Walker took what turned out to be a fatal ride -- he posed proudly next to the exotic car that exploded on impact in the deadly accident.

Paul was photographed with the red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT that belonged to his friend Roger Rodas. They were attending a fundraiser in Santa Clarita, CA.

We're told the photos and video were taken about 30 minutes before the accident.

As TMZ first reported ... Paul had put together the charitable event -- through his Reach Out Worldwide organization -- to support typhoon relief efforts in the Philippines.

Paul was the passenger in the Porsche when Rodas lost control and slammed into a tree. The car exploded, and the Sheriff's Department says speed was a factor.

I'll admit it.. When I was younger I too use to street race. But sadly, this is the result from street racing. It happens more than you think. I had one friend lose control of his car at high speeds and flipped it over and over again. He died in that accident.
I has another friend attempt to make a left turn onto a 4 lane road at roughly 30 mph and he hit loose glass in the intersection and wrapped his car around a light pole. His mother was in the car behind him and witnessed her own sons death.
As you get older, you realise the dangers. Cars are NOT designed to be pushed. Even at normal speeds things can go wrong. I had a BRAND NEW car (3 months old) and driving down the highway at the speed limit and the rear suspension came loose from the frame causing me to do 7 spins.
This doesn't include factors you can't control. People walking down the street, birds landing on the road, a cat, someone coming down the road in their car.
Don't believe the moves or TV shows. Street Racing is NOT like the TV show Street Outlaws. They do NOT set up generators with high powered lights and so on.
Not too long ago some people were street racing in an industrial area and an employee at one of the factories was leaving for his 2am lunch break and drove out on the street when they were racing. The Mustang involved in the racing went right through the concrete wall of one of the buildings killing someone working inside plus himself.
Keep the racing on the track. Check your local airport as most airports will run charity races. They'll host a race on the landing strip at night when the airport is closed. This usually costs $50 for the night and you get 3-4 runs down the strip and all money made goes to local charities. In some cases, the police will get involved and you can race a cop in a cop car down the landing strip.
What's cooler than racing a cop and NOT getting in trouble and doing it at a safe location. The photo's above are a true reminder of what can happen when you street race... It's NOT worth it...

He starred in those fast and furious films and died in a fast and furious way. At least he went quick and didn't suffer. What a tragedy. This guy had it all and died so young. So sad he left a young daughter.

Such a senseless loss of life; All in the name of speeding on city streets that are not meant for "racing". RIP

May Paul R.I.P. It is so sad that he had to die at such a young age, & even sadder that he was one of the good guys, always giving to charity...It is so true, that the good die young. His friend was the one who caused death for both of them. What an idiot he was for driving the way he did. He must of been driving at God knows what speed... Very very sad. My condolences to his family, especially his young daughter Meadow....
