'Fast and Furious 7' Director

We Will Finish Making the Movie

12/7/2013 9:29 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

120713_james_wan_launchPaul Walker's death may have put a halt to production on "Fast and Furious 7" ... but last night the movie's director told us there are absolutely no plans to abandon the flick.

A somber James Wan was leaving LAX when he told us how the cast and crew are holding up after Paul's death a week ago ... and assured us 'F&F 7' is still a go.

Wan didn't offer details on how he'll complete the movie, but there would seem to be only two options:

1) Keep the footage they've already shot of Paul, and write out his character, Brian O'Conner.
2) Rewrite the whole thing without Brian O'Conner and shoot the movie from scratch.

Got another idea?  Write it in the comments.

Clearly, any option will require extensive script changes, so ... it remains unclear how long Universal will have to postpone production.

i think to leave the parts of brain in is a gud idea bt they of killing the character there is something to thinking a lot and put time to it ,( its a action high enery flick so as he died i think its best to give him a well entertaining exit- sorry to say so)give us the last action of brain please.... away we will miss him, dont jus kill the character

Personally, I don't see why he has to die in the movie. Yes this is a movie but it is his last movie and his family will be watching it along side his friends and fans. Do we really want to see him die all over again? I vote for a ride off into the sunset. I think his death in the movie is going to be just too emotional and painful. Think of how the rest of the crew is going to feel if they have to play out his death scene. There is more at stake than movie sales. There are real people with real feelings to consider.

I really don't think they should even continue making FF7, even if they recast, rewrite, or keep what they have everyone knows the truth and its going to be hurtful either way. It just won't be the same no matter what they decide to do. It's just too damn sad!!

i think that they should just keep his character because it is important for him and the rest.... so people would know that he will live long in our fast and the furious movies and in our hearts
thank you :)

I think it is best if u leave in all scenes with paul walker in them he is gone n it is the last time we will c him in action. He is irreplaceable . But if u r goin to continue the movies u should put in channing tatum.

Keep Paul. No redo, otherwise the film will flop. Just write out, O'Conner suddenly takes off. His family (Mia) is under a threat that's hard to avoid, but is later solved. And in the end when all is finished, everyone is gathered around remembering Brian O'Conner with some FF clips. Paul walker cannot be replaced.

They should do the old flashback story line. Using the Paul science as the flashbacks scenes
