'Fast and Furious 7' Director

We Will Finish Making the Movie

12/7/2013 9:29 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

120713_james_wan_launchPaul Walker's death may have put a halt to production on "Fast and Furious 7" ... but last night the movie's director told us there are absolutely no plans to abandon the flick.

A somber James Wan was leaving LAX when he told us how the cast and crew are holding up after Paul's death a week ago ... and assured us 'F&F 7' is still a go.

Wan didn't offer details on how he'll complete the movie, but there would seem to be only two options:

1) Keep the footage they've already shot of Paul, and write out his character, Brian O'Conner.

2) Rewrite the whole thing without Brian O'Conner and shoot the movie from scratch.

Got another idea?  Write it in the comments.

Clearly, any option will require extensive script changes, so ... it remains unclear how long Universal will have to postpone production.

I would like to see the footage that Paul walker had already made, as a fan to see his last footage would make it possible for me to be able to say my goodbye. As for continuance of the movie,If replaced I would like to have seen Paul's brother take his place as a tribute. But of course I clearly understand the difficulty in that. Cutting him out of the movie by having Brian sacrifice his life for his child. Then the team is steamed up and goes after the attacker. But whatever they do, I don't think the should rewrite without Paul nor should they take out the footage of him. This is a final ride of Paul and I'm guessing fans want to see him in the last part. R.I.P Paul.

My daughter and I have come up with an ending to the movie....the cast is standing around Paul's casket...they each place a Red Rose upon the casket...Torreto steps up and places a set of car keys, remembering his promise to give paul a "ten second car"...everyone goes to a brightly painted street car and leaves, but one car remains...its the ten second car...then, another car suddenly pulls up, its windows heavily tinted..the window starts to come down and...fade to black..

The number one cause of death in people under 40 is unintentional injures from accidents or violence.
Because it woulbe extremely insensitive from the producers to kill Paul's character in a car crash the best bet is if the plot goes with Stadham character killing him and then the rest going for revenge.

I would love love love to see Taylor Kitsch from Battleship taking not Paul's character but rather playing either his brother or cousin.....

The plot may include a "secret spot" from Brian's childhood where he hidde crucial info to capture the bad guy, and here is where his "cousin" played by Kitsch will come along.....

They can say Brian was planing a get away with his family and he was intercepted by Stadham and killed....

Paul Walker will be never be replaced on FF franchise, the producers know that, they have to be very clever in how to handle his death in a sensitive way not only for his family but also to keep the fan base.

As a fan, we would love to see what he filmed before he died and also bring an actor who will NOT replace him but rather gives a glance of him I think will work for all....

BEST ENDING: Allow his character to die a hero. A reflection of his selflessness outside of his acting career.

Depending on the footage taken of PW you can get a double that can stand in for him during driving scenes that may have not been filmed yet or even scenes that don't need to show his front side. The scenes will be happening so fast that there's no true need to see his face just the out line of his head or what have you. He can last in this movie and be killed off at the end instead of early on or even mid way. If you can keep the focus on Statham and his revenge or even the huge amount of new actors you'll be able to pull it off and possibly get away with semi PW shots. As for killing him off he can be the last casualty of the movie maybe at the hands of Carter Verone the villain from 2 fast 2 furious which can make a come back in fast 8 (he did say he was getting out right? lol) Sean boswell better step his game up because although he wasn't brought in to replace anyone the attention will now shift to him and Toretto. PW cannot have huge parts in this movie for this to work out. His scenes should be spread out evenly and carefully through out the movie. Don't have these drawn out scenes that will use up all the footage he has causing for a possible double to get too much screen time and be spotted as a double. This movie is going to be epic just don't start over w/o PW.

They shouldn't kill him in the movie at all. That would destroy the whole franchise if they choose to continue. I think they should continue the series and finish it strong. Or option two would be have Brian and Mia going into hiding with there baby because things are getting too dangerous. But I for one am a huge fan of Fast and Furious, and I would love to see them finish the series with all the characters even if they have to hire someone new. Then when the movies are released, some of the profit should go to Walker's charity. He was an amazing actor and a good person. I don't think he would want the series to stop. If they keep Brian alive in the movie it would show us that he is still with us in spirit.

The whole series sucks. I wouldn't pay 10 cents to see all 6 movies. A bunch of Honda Civics with nos. Get some real cars. Just goes to show you how stupid the public really is.

im sorry but they will have to kill of his character. NO ONE will ever replace him in his role. The entire production real life actors and the roles they play all need closure.

Most who watch the Fast and Furious 7 will be aware that it became necessary to handle the real life loss of Paul Walker. Reshooting previously shot scenes to not include Paul will be judged. Possibly this will upset fans. Killing his character off will be judged possibly as being disrespectful. Another alternative is to have his character leave the gang due to being upset with continuing to chase Jason Statham's character down, tired of this vengeance lifestyle. In which case, Brian and Mia, and their baby must leave the movie (maybe she can return in next sequel). Or we find out t hat the baby was not Brian's, so Mia explains that Brian just left.
