'Fast and Furious 7' Director

We Will Finish Making the Movie

12/7/2013 9:29 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

120713_james_wan_launchPaul Walker's death may have put a halt to production on "Fast and Furious 7" ... but last night the movie's director told us there are absolutely no plans to abandon the flick.

A somber James Wan was leaving LAX when he told us how the cast and crew are holding up after Paul's death a week ago ... and assured us 'F&F 7' is still a go.

Wan didn't offer details on how he'll complete the movie, but there would seem to be only two options:

1) Keep the footage they've already shot of Paul, and write out his character, Brian O'Conner.

2) Rewrite the whole thing without Brian O'Conner and shoot the movie from scratch.

Got another idea?  Write it in the comments.

Clearly, any option will require extensive script changes, so ... it remains unclear how long Universal will have to postpone production.

Most who watch the Fast and Furious 7 will be aware that it became necessary to handle the real life loss of Paul Walker. Reshooting previously shot scenes to not include Paul will be judged. Possibly this will upset fans. Killing his character off will be judged possibly as being disrespectful. Another alternative is to have his character leave the gang due to being upset with continuing to chase Jason Statham's character down, tired of this vengeance lifestyle. In which case, Brian and Mia, and their baby must leave the movie (maybe she can return in next sequel). Or we find out t hat the baby was not Brian's, so Mia explains that Brian just left.

I feel they should kill him off the way he died in real life. Why re-write the entire movie? This was his final movie. All of his die hard fans would like to see him in his final roll, after all it is the roll that made him famous and he loved doing it. He has said that it is was his favorite roll, and also it would be even more dramatic to catch the other actors true emotions because they will be real. I am using Glee and Cory Monteith as my example. The Quarterback was the best episode made because it was real.

I would think that with all the technology and special effects of Holly Wood that maybe using a Holograph of Mr. Walker's character and continue using the same script; and if there is not enough budget to use this type of technology try considering using a mask. I've seen famous people made out of wax in wax museums, if that could be done I would think you could possibly use the same technique for movie characters. I'm sure you could find someone with the same body structure and height to apply this to.
Second note if Hollywood is looking for someone with ideas, I have a lot of ideas LOL.

They gonna finish the end but not what they expect. I think they put a stunt man as Brian and he gonna die and to the end they will record his real funeral! That would be something. Rest in peace Paul Walker!!

It's sad we even have to be discussing how to continue the series without Paul Walker. Walker's untimely death was horrible and he will surely be missed, both for his acting skills and for his great heart when it came to helping others. The thought that came to my mind about how the writers could continue with series 7 is to have Paul's character go into hiding due to being chased. He has surgery to alter his face and returns to kick butt. The two actors who I thought of were Hayden Christensen or Bradley Cooper. In no way am I saying that Paul can ever be replaced, but just looking for another option for the series.

With everyone talking about how to proceed with Fast 7 I came across this and thought that it would be perfect when I read it...
"I think it would be more respectful if they wrote his death in and had his funeral in the movie. Like maybe he dies in the middle of the movie. Life lost in a fiery crash. Dom tries to get to him but the car explodes. Slow motion running and crying. Dom holds Mia back from trying to go near the burning car. There's no time to mourn. They must turn their sadness into anger and get revenge on the people who caused this... Action and racing ensues. A short moment where tyrese is chasing Jason Statham. He says "This is for you Brian" and rams his car into Jason Statham. His car flips and in midair there's a flashback to the lunch during Fast 6. Tyrese says the prayer. End Flashback. Tyrese awakes to what sounds like Brian's voice calling his name. He pulls himself out the car. Mission Accomplished.
Final Scene: Cemetary. Closed Casket Funeral. Silent. Each Person places a rose on the top of the casket except for Vin Diesel. He walks up to the casket. A flashback to the "you owe me a 10 second car" scene plays. Vin places a set of car keys on top of the casket and walks away. The team is seen walking away from the grave site in classic movie slow motion. A series of brightly colored race cars lines the edge of the lawn. Each member gets into their car and drives off. One car is left standing there. A flashback shows it is the car that Paul Walker is first seen driving in Fast 1. The scene shows the car driving off into the beautiful sunset. The screen fades to black and "In Loving Memory of Paul Walker" shows on Screen"......
As a personal addition it would be a plus if when each member of the team places their item on the casket, we get a quick montage of key moments that they had with Brian...

They should keep the footage they have and end 7 with Brian getting killed saving one of the "family", then bring back Lucas Black who plays Sean for the end of 7 or even the 8th one to help avenge the death of Han and Brian. They also have the option to fast forward to Brian and Mia's baby as either a teenager or young adult and creating the story around him, keeping Paul Walkers character alive in that way.

How about sending him to jail. Maybe his character was actually running drugs or illegal stuff and finally got caught.

Sorry no DO NOT RECREATE HIS DEATH that is wrong. People do NOT want to see that. It's not likes he taking a break from the movie people he actually really passed away. That is so disrespectful I hope that what ever they do it is not that.

Just bring in another actor to replace Paul..Finish the film using product already shot. The whole world will understand and appreciate the completion of Mr. Walker's last appearance on the Big Screen. No fans of that series will respond negatively to a mixing of old film and new scenes with a different actor. I think the film will become a CLASSIC issued with these alterations. I look forward to seeing all of the scenes with Paul in them.

My prayers and good wishes are with Mr. Walker's family, friends, co-workers and those, who like me, will miss him in the future.
