Paul Walker Death

Alleged Wreckage Thieves Charged with FELONY

12/9/2013 2:57 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

1209_paul_walker_crash_tmz_splashThe law has come down hard on the guys who allegedly pillaged the Paul Walker crash scene ... they've been charged with 3 crimes.

18-year-old Jameson Witty was caught on video stealing the T-top roof of the Porsche right off the tow truck ... and, as if that wasn't enough of a smoking gun ... he then bragged about the heist by posting pics of the stolen wreckage on Instagram.

The L.A. County District Attorney has just charged Witty and his alleged accomplice, Anthony Janow, with felony grand theft, along with 2 misdemeanors -- destroying evidence and resisting, obstructing and delaying a peace officer.

If convicted, the 2 men face up to 4 years and 6 months behind bars.

Absolute jerks. Didn't their mothers teach them that you don't take things that don't belong to you?

well instead of getting a job and earn (like how they tell the other group of ethnicity to do) these men decided to steal and be the hypocrites that they always are..!!!!!
merciless greedy bottom feeders…
I'm sure they are going to find someone or something to blame..its never their fault.!!

Those talking about Tyrese. Firstly, he picked up debris that was not only on the ground, but had been left behind by the police. Secondly, he didn't 'steal' anything. It's possible he obtained permission to keep it and even if he didn't, I'm sure they would have asked for it if it was needed. Thirdly, Tyrese and PW were best friends. Quite different from somebody jumping out of their car and removing a large part of the car off the back of a tow truck while it was at a red light.

Opportunistic thieves who knew neither victim personally and had no other objective than to boast, versus visibly completely broken best friend at crash site the day after the incident who wanted something, anything to help them.

Put yourselves in position of both and ask yourselves, honestly, if you think they both deserve the same charge.

Yeah, only the blood sucking media is allowed to profit from this! Know your place citizens of America, or prepare to be singled out by the media while also providing fodder for them to stay employed to write about

Picking up a small burnt piece of the car like tyrese did is not illegal. These guys were trying to steal good parts and trying to sell them.

shouldn't they be getting life in jail for what they did?

ya, let's not go after the idiots racing their car on their own private race track...who killed themselves.

If this car ran anything like mine did then if u rev the crap out of it then floor it, it stalls out at some point which locks the stearing wheel and brakes leaving rodas w only an e break. By the time u figure out u need the e brakes its too late. This would also explain why the tire skids were in a straight line.

How sick could some people be to make $$$$ off a crash site from a big celebrity that's pretty low. Well they deserve to get charged. If they were smart and had respect for the dead they would have thought first of not too.

With a felony on your record...good luck getting a good job. So basically these dirt bags ruined their lives for bragging rights..real smart.

the charges are ridiculous. ignorance doesnt excuse anything BUT one of the charges is delaying. the minor delay for this mans ignorance has now delayed and added to the already blocked judicial system that wasn't built to work proper and sustain ignorance from both the "criminal" and the law enforcement. the time and energy. the cost involved. the overlay cost of their prison term for what again? felony grand theft? the grand theft of a burnt piece of overpriced fibreglass? since the "law" wants to throw its money on a system like this, why not spend the same on a system where the punishment is a proper education earned by implementing a strict employment and some schooling? i mean, if your spending the money anyways?

Well, in any other state, they would serve jail time, but since it's California, they'll get off with a little community service and a small fine. Ya know, that's the way it's done THERE.

So, they're saying that these people that stole items from the wreckage and tree bark from the tree they hit should not be profiting in any way from Paul Walkers death? Really? What about the producers of the Fast& Furious franchise? Should they be profiting from his death? Because, today I saw a commercial for the video re-release of F&F 6. It cannot be a coincidence that it's being re-released just a week or so after his death. And, there was a note saying that a part of the profits from sales will be donated to his charity. A part of the proceeds, not all, just part, meaning that the rest will go into the pockets of the producers. Don't tell me they're not turning his death into a way to make a few more bucks from gullible, grieving fans.

Yes they should be in jail! They don't show any respect to the family and friends of Paul Walker.
