Family Believes Road Bumps Sealed His Fate

Paul Walker
died after the speeding Porsche in which he was riding hydroplaned on reflective plastic markers in the street ... at least that's what his family and accident reconstruction experts believe.

Sources close to Paul's family tell TMZ ... the family has been in touch with stunt experts who have gone to the crash site and come back with what they believe is a solid theory -- a speeding car that hits the plastic markers -- called Botts' Dots -- will hydroplane, causing the driver to lose control.

We've learned the experts have told the family ... a car going speeds approaching 90 MPH will lose traction after hitting a series of Botts' Dots.  It's akin to driving on ice -- and  control is further compromised by the fact that the Porsche was outfitted with special racing tires that have very little tread.

And there's this ... Porsche sent out a memo to dealers back in 2004, warning about control problems with the Carrera GT, saying, "This vehicle cannot drive over a Foster Beer can that is lying on its side.  It will crush the can and damage the carbon fiber under panels," adding, "You need to be aware of what type of road surface you are on (dips, pot holes, seam heights, etc.)."

Law enforcement sources say they have not concluded the exact cause of the accident, but it appears they're looking at the Botts' Dots ... as a viable theory for triggering the fatal crash.

Yall arnt experts on what happened. The family are talking to experts to find out the possiblities to what caused the acceident including speed, road bumps and whatever else to get closure. They are not saying it wasnt speed coz obviously it was driving very fast but as roger was an expert race car driver the family want to find out if there were other factors to figure out how roger lost control. Your input is not needed.

Sorry but that is so much BS.
What killed him was the speed that the driver was going on a public street and not w race track. The law was indeed broken and sad to say, but the lawbreaker and his passenger paid the price for that fact. There is a big diff. between a program or a movie when all sorts of unsafe things are done and rel life wher e there is an order and law to follow.

There are a lot of "Why". Whe he did not slow down in the corner? Why Rodas lost control? Why Paul Walker did not ensure they were driving safely and bla bla bla... It happened and the guys are gone. We should leave this case and humble. It is a disrespect for his family, relatives and friends. R.I.P Paul Walker

How much longer is this going to be news?It has turned into Idol worship or worshiping the dead.Actors and singers die as we all do.Bury him or cremate him and let him RIP.But driving these cars at 90 mph above is like poking a sleeping bear with a stick. The Bear will wake up at some point.

stop looking for a reason..the reason was he was driving to fast.screw the bumps , the only good thing that came from this ( don't call it an accedent ) was no one else got killed..next time try a Vette it;s can handle the bump's ...drive american not some euro trash

so basically if the driver wasnt speeding he wouldn't have lost control I feel for both families but it was just a tragic accident however I wouldnt be surprised if Paul Walker's family blames the driver(best friend and business partner of Walker's) and sues his estate at least that's what it feels like what is coming why else say speed and the bots dots were the contributing factors

I'd be interested in seeing the security camera footage from the building right at the curve, Rye Canyon Business Park building #27 occupied by the Hypercel Corporation. Google earth shows cameras on the roof at each corner of the building. It may have caught a glimpse of the car moments before the accident.

Why is the blame never placed where it is due? With the driver. He shouldn't have been driving 90 mph. Botts Dots or the tires wouldn't be an issue if he were driving a normal speed..
