James Holmes

Victims Families Outraged

Apt. On the Market

12/30/2013 12:50 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

1228-james-holmes-aurora-getty Victims of James Holmes' murderous rampage are anguished and angry that the apartment he turned into a death trap is being rented again.

We spoke with a number of families after breaking the story that the apartment -- which Holmes booby trapped with 30 grenades and 10 gallons of gasoline with the intent of killing cops -- is on the market, and they feel victimized again and disrespected.

Bill Hoover -- whose grandson A.J. Boik was gunned down by the Aurora shooter -- says, "The place should be burned down or bulldozed."

The landlord is asking $850 a month, boasting the 650 square foot 1 bedroom/1 bathroom unit is completely renovated and furnished.  There's no mention about the previous tenant.

Hoover adds, "He [Holmes] is the epitome of evil and what went on in that building was horrendous ... I don't think anyone would want to stay there if they knew the evil acts that were done."

A member of another victim's family says, "There needs to be a sign saying a worthless killer lived here."

Still, we gotta ask ...

I heard the negative spiritual energy still resides there, rendering any future tenant murderous on contact. The rampage wasn't something Holmes is responsible for, it was this apartment, that's who's at fault, there's demons in there, and it must be burned. <--- religious nutjobs with IQs about room temperature who can from the dark ages to void murderers all responsibility and blame it on inanimate objects

Yeah

Yet the theatre where the murders actually happened is still being used. Granted they tried to stop that too. These are the type of people that make sure that everyone knows that they are victims so that others will feel sorry for them. They feed off the pity. Dont get me wrong, I am sorry for their loss and wouldnt want this to happen to anyone. But they need to let it go and move on. If they are so set on tearing the building down, then pay the landlord for the building and all future earnings he will lose for each apt. Then they can tear it down and do what they want with it.

James Holmes is NOT 'the epitome of evil'! He has a mental illness!

If only we knew what horrendous acts took place throughout the ages on any given property or general area.
It's not as though Holmes himself is trying to make bank off the property. What's next - suggestions to bulldoze the movie theater, raze his parents' house, and condemn the schools he attended? Sheesh...

As Max Smart said, if anyone feels "disrespected" because the apartment is being rented again, let them BUY the building. It's so easy for people to demand things like this when they have no financial connection with the building and THEY wouldn't be losing any money. The landlord did nothing wrong. Don't punish him

This is completely ridiculous! I don't mean to sound insensitive, but if family members are seriously outraged by this then they are looking for excuses to relive the pain and should try therapy. I'm sorry a tragedy struck your family, but that doesn't give you an excuse to take income away from a landlord. Especially in a building that no murders took place in. They didn't tear down the theater where the shooting actually occurred. Seriously people, do you really think this kind of petty thinking honors your family members? If anything it dishonors them because your making your own family seem stupid. Get over yourselves.

TMZ actually called up these people to see what they thought about it? Holy hell and who's insensitive? I would have told them to F*ck off and got a restraing order. No class TMZ, no class

Memory

It is not the landlord/owner's fault this guy did what he did when he lived there. The owner/landlord still has to make a living and needs to rent the apartment. If every place that was involved in a death or crime scene was torn down, we'd have nothing left!

People are so hypocritcal. What did the landlord do that he should not be able to rent out this property? How many of these idiot commenters would actually burn the place down if they owned it? None?

Hate to tell the family of the victims to shut the F up because of what they went thru, but SHUT THE F UP!!!!!!!

The apartment had nothing to do with it!!!!

God I live in Denver and these people think they now should be getting everything handed to them. I'm sorry about what happened to you but life goes on. Either live your life or go kill yourself!!!!

I do feel sorry for the victims' families, but the landlord has to make a living. Hey, people moved into the Manson house post-murders and paid big bucks for it, too.

If we burn down every single place someone was killed or murdered, there would not be a whole lot standing. Can't blame the landlord and you can't just burn down someone's property.
