James Holmes

Victims Families Outraged

Apt. On the Market

12/30/2013 12:50 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

1228-james-holmes-aurora-getty Victims of James Holmes' murderous rampage are anguished and angry that the apartment he turned into a death trap is being rented again.

We spoke with a number of families after breaking the story that the apartment -- which Holmes booby trapped with 30 grenades and 10 gallons of gasoline with the intent of killing cops -- is on the market, and they feel victimized again and disrespected.

Bill Hoover -- whose grandson A.J. Boik was gunned down by the Aurora shooter -- says, "The place should be burned down or bulldozed."

The landlord is asking $850 a month, boasting the 650 square foot 1 bedroom/1 bathroom unit is completely renovated and furnished.  There's no mention about the previous tenant.

Hoover adds, "He [Holmes] is the epitome of evil and what went on in that building was horrendous ... I don't think anyone would want to stay there if they knew the evil acts that were done."

A member of another victim's family says, "There needs to be a sign saying a worthless killer lived here."

Still, we gotta ask ...

Come on, somebody else OWNS that apartment. Are they expecting that guy to take a loss for something he didn't do?

So stupid. If that's what they want they should buy the building and do with it as they please.

What a bunch of whiny morons. Of course the apartment is going to be rented again. They have no special privileges over others' property just because a member of their family got killed.

while the victims families are going to be understanably angry with the guy, it is just an apartment.
destroying a place where some messed up evil place is not an answer to anything.
destroying the sandy hook school achieved nothing but higher debt to the school system's taxpayers.
tearing down this guy's former apartment isn't bringing anyone back either.

Once again, TMZ does their best to destroy an innocent person's life.

That guy

I live in Denver that place is ghetto is hell in the area where he lived it looks like section 8 housing. If the families are so outraged they should buy that ghetto ass apartment complex and tear it down themselves. The families that had a victim die received 220,000 thousand each if they really cared but they don't like anyone would pay that when they get that kinda money so they should shut the F up.

It's not like the people were killed in the house. Get over it already, move on. It's just a house. If these people care about it so much, raise the money to buy it.

i can see where people are outraged over it because of what happened. tho what can they do honestly? there are other people living in that building to. want them to be homeless?

If they want it destroyed the family members of the victims should compensate the landlord for loss of income. Considering the apartment building nets the landlord several thousand dollars per month, might I suggest a fee of $100,000 for the demolition and another $1,000,000 to construct a new building?

Why should the apt owner not be able to rent that property? No one died there - no one was murdered there - and it's not his fault he rented to a psycho. Unless the families get together and BUY the place, they have no say in this.

Inconceivable!

The homes killers lived in or grew up in are still standing all over the country. The difference (as many pointed out) is that NO ONE DIED AT THIS APARTMENT! If the families feel this way they should be demanding the movie theater be "burned down or bulldozed" since that is where the actual murders and injuries took place.

Get over it folks, it's just an apartment and no one died in it. The wankers who want it bulldozed also forget that it is connected to 11 other apartments in the block. GET OVER IT !
