James Holmes

Victims Families Outraged

Apt. On the Market

12/30/2013 12:50 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

1228-james-holmes-aurora-getty Victims of James Holmes' murderous rampage are anguished and angry that the apartment he turned into a death trap is being rented again.

We spoke with a number of families after breaking the story that the apartment -- which Holmes booby trapped with 30 grenades and 10 gallons of gasoline with the intent of killing cops -- is on the market, and they feel victimized again and disrespected.

Bill Hoover -- whose grandson A.J. Boik was gunned down by the Aurora shooter -- says, "The place should be burned down or bulldozed."

The landlord is asking $850 a month, boasting the 650 square foot 1 bedroom/1 bathroom unit is completely renovated and furnished.  There's no mention about the previous tenant.

Hoover adds, "He [Holmes] is the epitome of evil and what went on in that building was horrendous ... I don't think anyone would want to stay there if they knew the evil acts that were done."

A member of another victim's family says, "There needs to be a sign saying a worthless killer lived here."

Still, we gotta ask ...

So the landlord is at fault? He or she should burn down the whole building? Seems ridiculous to equate that with the loss of family members. Do we burn down every home a murderer lived in?

OH NO!

People are so ****ing stupid. What's landlord supposed to do? Take a loss each month an not rent it out? Those ****ing morons who think this are probably the same **** suckers who watch duck dynasty.

I don't....I don't get it. Why are they worked up so much about this?
There's no big deal about it.

Um Holmes murdered those people not the Landlord.

I get thier angry but it's not thier right to demand the world change because of thier feelings.

That apartment owner has a right to his property and in this economy every rent counts.

They may think its in poor taste not to tell the world Holmes lived there. But the owner is are still within the law not to.

And I think they are verging on defamation of that persons property.

That's a bit much to ask that the building be destroyed. It's not like the murders happened in the apartment. If we destroyed every house or apartment where a criminal lived, it would be a gang of empty lots all over this country.

Also if they need to watch their mouths. Besides defamation they are setting that owner and that building up to be vandalized or burned down by another lunatic trying to seek some sort of revenge for them. I hope they have security at that building.

****ty situation but you can only take it so far.

Would they feel satisfied if some one burned down that building for them, killing the people within? I would be worried if I owned that place.

Why should the landlord lose hundreds of thousands of dollars and possibly go bankrupt? He has probably already lost a truckload due to the apartment being associated with such a high profile crime. The victim's families shouldn't be punishing an innocent third party for the crimes of someone else. If Bill Hoover wants to bulldoze the place, he should probably buy it first.

While we're at it, why don't they bulldoze every hotel and restaurant frequented by murderers? Ever hired someone who later became a murderer? Get ready to also lose your business.

Ridiculous. I understand people lost family that day, but they shouldn't be victimizing the landLord. The families are going after a man who had nothing to do with what James Holmes did and asking for him to be punished. In case they have failed to notice the current economic situation, not everyone can afford to rip down their source of income, lose that income for minimum of a year and a half and then pay probably more than all the victim's families pay in mortgage (all combined for a year) to rebuild the building. I'm sorry but people need to learn how to mourn in private, amd not make themselves and the memory of their loved ones disgraced. If they truly care about the family they lost, they would stop striking out at people that don't deserve it.

He's yet to be convicted, TMZ. Better change that first sentence before you're sued for slander.

LOL bulldoze or burn down the apartment complex. I can understand the family being upset over their loved ones they lost but they weren't criminally murdered where he lived. What's next? Burn down the hospital he was born in?

How about blow up the planet he lived on?

Take your taint elsewhere.

Not fair to the landlord. Not like he is trying to make it a tourist attraction or get rich off the infamy of this guy living there. The family members of the victims can always take up a collection and offer to buy the place from the landlord at a fair price and then demolish the place.

Does the landlord not have the right to make money? It is his property, not their's or Jame's . James is in jail so his apartment was taken from him. Isn't that good enough for these people to see a consequence? James is the one who allegedly did it, not the landlord.

The guy is bonkers either way and he probably did not act alone or even mastermind the situation. It is hard to believe that one kook did all that without any help, plus witnesses say a second man came in through the exit door that was opened during the movie and he is the one who was doing the shooting.

The consequence for murder is that someone goes to trial and to jail. It is not that everyone else in the world needs to stop living.
