Dennis Rodman is in rehab to treat his never-ending addiction to booze ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to Rodman tell us the 52-year old basketball Hall of Famer checked into a treatment center a few days ago in New Jersey ... on the heels of his disastrous trip to North Korea.

We're told Rodman is "beyond exhausted and overwhelmed" ... and he will be in treatment for 30 days.

The Worm has had multiple stints in rehab. Dennis checked into a Florida treatment facility in 2008 ... and in 2009 he appeared on the third season of "Celebrity Rehab." He relapsed shortly after the show premiered.

Rodman blamed booze for his explosion during a recent CNN interview from N. Korea.

Are you sure it's just alcohol? I guess drugs aren't a factor here. You realized you were out of your league and made a fool of yourself and now you think going to rehab will save your pathetic image. DR, you're a POS and you should go to rehab with Kin Jon Gofuc.cka yourself.

rehab is short for "rehabilitate my image"
because the minute a celeb does something ignorant or stupid- they/their PR people's main focus is to rehabilitate the image- the faster the better - so they can keep the big buck$ rolling in
and a great majority of people still believe they are addressing their drug use/alcoholism/philandering, (whether or not they really have that issue, or just an ignorance/stupidity/arrogance problem), but in most cases it's a damage control attempt as they spin things to show that they're not the problem- the "disease" is!

This is just another attempt to 'save face' with this loser. After yet another publicity disaster, it will be blamed on his alcoholism once again.

Patriotism rehab. Personality rehab. Hygiene rehab. I guess he couldn't stay in North Korea for his rehab? I hope next time he goes over his little buddy decides to make him a snack for a pack of hungry dogs. Friendship rehab.

In all honesty, I could not understand a word DR was saying in the Korea interview with CNN. At that time, I was struggling to ask one of the other players to step in and take over the segment for some meaningfulness. He's probably a good guy and needs love.

Good for him. It will take a good year to change behavior patterns. If he has the money he should stay longer. He seems like when sober he is decent. Alcohol can be the devils urine.

It's a "never ending alcohol addiction" because he never takes rehab seriously. I've seen him in celebrity rehab on VH1 and it was all a joke to him.

Maybe his only friend, Kim Jong - Ugly, will send him some love letters and a bag of fortune cookies to console him in rehab.

Gee, aren't we in NJ lucky. He'll probably check himself out just prior to the Superbowl, just in time to hit all the parties.
