Justin Bieber

Surveillance Captures

Low Speed NON-Drag Race

1/26/2014 7:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

012614_bieber_driving_miami_launchJustin Bieber's "drag race" through Miami Beach was captured on surveillance video ... and backs up evidence TMZ first uncovered -- there didn't appear to be any high-speed racing going down at all.

In the video ... Bieber is leading in the Lambo, while his buddy Khalil drives BEHIND him in the Ferrari, and an SUV drives along side of both cars.

Single-file driving at reasonable speed ... with an SUV preventing any passing ... would make a race between Bieber and Khalil near impossible.

The video -- obtained by CBS4 in Miami -- also shows police tailing the group for a few blocks.

We broke the story ... the rental place where Justin got the cars had GPS tracking devices on the vehicles -- showing they were both doing 27 mph at the time of the alleged racing

What

So even without the drag racing, that's still expired license, and under the influence of narcotics alongside resisting arrest.

Here's hoping Florida is a three strike state.

the police are already in pursuit so maybe this isn't the actually race but as they were slowing down once they saw the lights in their rearview mirrors......possible???

You CAN be racing at 27 mph. Besides, group of cars traveling close together like that are up to something.
Police SUSPECT drag racing and that is probable cause for a stop. Cop stop was legit.

Why is TMZ now trying to justify his behavior? Seems maybe you've been swayed.

Someone just slowed the speed of the video down. They definitely were racing.

These cars go 0-60 in seconds people. No way they would be able to stay under 30 mph if they were drag racing.

For all of you saying he was drunk, on pills, etc. In America, you have to have PROBABLE CAUSE to pull someone over. The reason this video is important is because the police claim they pulled him over because he was drag racing. They didn't pull him over because he was swerving or crossing over the line. He didn't appear impaired in his driving. Do you want to be profiled and pulled over just because the officer feels like it? Think twice before you advocate such a stupid, stupid thing. As far as the video goes, I don't believe this proves anything. The police officer was already behind him, so chances are he saw the police and stopped drag racing. And yes, his average speed could easily be 27 MPH and he could have been drag racing. The definition of drag racing is normally 1/8 - 1/4 of a mile. It's very short distances.

I still don't get it. What was the reason for his crew blocking off a street for them? Isn't that intent?
