Budweiser BAILS on Sochi

We're Not Comfortable There

2/5/2014 2:25 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0205-budweiser-olympicsThere's no Bud for you, Sochi ... TMZ Sports has learned Budweiser has decided to NOT throw its traditional Winter Olympics party this year and it's all because the company is not comfortable with the situation in Russia.

In the past, Budweiser was known for hosting huge parties -- like the Club Bud bashes during the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and at the 2006 Olympics in Turin.

But we've learned ... the King of Beers has decided it won't be throwing a similar party at the '14 Games ... at least, that's the plan for now.

In fact, we've seen an email from a Budweiser rep which says the company does not want its U.S.-based representatives in Sochi ... and the message is clear -- the terrorist threat is simply looming too large.

A rep for Anheuser-Busch confirms to TMZ Sports ... there will be no Club Bud in Sochi -- but the rep didn't give a reason for why the company is not throwing the party.

Fifty per cent of Russian men between ages 18 and 50 die as a result of alcohol addiction.

It does not take much brain power to realize trouble is brewing, where is our lame President? He should be commenting on these Olympics,, he is the wizard of smart who never shuts his mouth.if something should happen do you think he will act or play dumb. I guess he does not want to comment because these are the Winter Olympics he has no interest in this team they are own their own.

They could get a bunch of good publicity by shipping tons of their non-alcoholic products over there since you can't drink the water. Hell, they could probably do some big deals with other countries to supply their athletes, too.

TMZ, they do not want their American employees there. That is why. I am proud of Budweiser for putting their Employees first over profit. GREAT JOB BUD. We are personally boycotting the olympics because of the capture of two wild orcas for the event. Jerks did not have to capture wild ones, there are plenty in captivity. Not to mention Orcas are a pack animal. they are a family and they stole two members of a family and split them up.

I hear some journalists were particularly looking forward to Club Bud -- as a space to sleep on the floor, given the dismal state of hotels in Russia.

Well, that is exactly what terrorism wants. Folks hiding in their homes afraid to go out. They just won without firing a shot. Now I am not saying throw caution to the wind but one must take a stand.
