Philip Seymour Hoffman

GF & Children

Emotional Funeral Exit

2/7/2014 3:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0207-mimi-funeralSad day in New York City Friday -- Philip Seymour Hoffman's longtime girlfriend Mimi O'Donnell and their 3 children just exited the Manhattan church where the actor's funeral just ended ... and it was emotional.

Mimi -- flanked by 10-year-old son Cooper, 7-year-old daughter Tallulah and 5-year-old daughter Willa -- exited the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola together moments ago.

Other famous attendees also found it difficult to contain their feelings -- Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Williams left together, both wearing dark sunglasses. Michelle held her hand over her mouth.

It's tragic ... Gyllenhaal was set to star in Hoffman's upcoming directorial effort "Ezekiel Moss" -- in fact, his involvement in the film was announced just days before Hoffman's death.

Williams starred with Hoffman in "Synecdoche, New York" in 2008 -- the same year her ex Heath Ledger also OD'd on drugs.

Greiving children... No sh*t, they're burying their Father. Way to stay classy TMZ and post their heartbroken faces over the internet on whats probably the saddest day of their lives. Whoever thought this was a good idea should stick a needle in THEIR arm. Douchebags!

This is why you disgust me tmz. You don't need to be taking pictures videos or whatever of family and friends leaving or going or getting ready for a funeral!

I wish he could see the picture. It tears my heart out.

PLEASE LEAVE HIS EX AND THE KIDS ALONE. What they are going through is extraordinary and something us regular folk will never come close to experiencing. Their father was a brilliant man, and an international celebrity, a man who died too young .....when they are young, and a man who died in a sad and pathetic way. Those variables have to be overwhelming for Mimi and the kids. Photogs calling out to them, a zillion flashes going off...please stop! I have always been amazed at his talent but am sad and mad that he let the demons win. The kids will need counseling for a long time, long time because among other things, they will wonder why they werent (good) enough for him,so as to keep him from doing this. I wish MIMI and the kids well.

way to stay classy, harv....
this website has become my own personal drug.... i disagree with half the stuff you guys post, and the other half is kardash-bieb paid endorsement, yet like a crackhead i'm here everyday...
i hope i can kick this place, this picture is so wrong on so many levels.... the kids just lost their dad -- doesn't matter how at this point --- let them cry and mourn and grieve and miss him with a telephoto lens there to capture the moment...

It's time for Hollywood to step up, as a whole community, to help their actors from becoming legends in the wind... Also, us as a fans should stop supporting actors that do abuse drugs by boycotting their films. Granted drug addiction is a disease but there are resources to help these folks come clean. Be a friend and help...

Wow! It's really low of yous at TMZ to post private pictures of children grieving their fathers death! Give them privacy. to be sad and not show the world,. Very pathetic of this site.

Sadly he only has himself to blame for this sad ending when you abuse drugs you die. It happens everyday throughout this country.

I have a question ... No offense to PSH but I thought heroin addicts were skinny?

Youngest one, doesn't seem to have a clue what's going on. The second oldest look more distraught than the mother. Once they become older. His death will hit deep to them.

The only movie-star not wearing pretentious shades was the corpse.

It IS horribly terribly tragic and sad to lose your Dad, a tragedy I cannot even fathom and I am a grown woman. For these children the magnitude of his death will never go away, they will have to live without their father for the rest of their lives. No daddy asking how was their first day of school, no daddy waiting for them as they get off the school bus, or chasing the boogyman away, no daddy at their school talent shows, no father-daughter dances, no Dad at their graduations, no Dad to walk the girls down the isle at their wedding. No father and son fishing trips…its absolutely tragic and sad and the people with no empathy for this man saying he did it to himself, that's its enough; it no longer matters WHY, the man is dead, he isn't coming back and his children have to live with this for the rest of their lives. It's beyond devastating.
