'Monster-in-Law' Arrest

Woman Jailed

For Overdue Video Rental

breaking news

An out-of-business video store in South Carolina just taught a former customer a very hard lesson -- DON'T BAIL ON RETURNING VIDEOS OR YOU'LL BE ARRESTED!!!!!

Kayla Finley was arrested Thursday when she visited the Pickens County Sheriff's Office on an unrelated matter ... and according to reports cops discovered she had a nearly 10-year-old warrant.

Turns out Kayla allegedly rented "Monster-in-Law" from Dalton Video in 2005 but never returned it ... so the store owner got the police involved before going out of business.

It's unclear when Dalton Video went out of business ... but cops say they've been trying to get in touch with her about the warrant for years and never heard back.

Kayla swore she never got a notice -- but was hauled off to jail anyway ... and released a few hours later on bond.

The charge she's facing: "failure to return rented video cassette."

Fun Fact: "Monster-in-Law" has a 16% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Well, we are talking the great state of South Carolina here. They probably think it's black magic that a plastic tape has people on the tape has captured their souls or something and they should have gone to church more often. On the flip side, this sounds like a personal thing to me. Had she been dating the video store manager or something? What is the cost of a new Monster-In-Law tape anyway...$4.99? Give it up South Carolina. Wasting your tax dollars on prosecuting this woman will only cut into your food stamp budget.

I think when someone has nothing intelligent to say they revert to racism. Why would racism be brought up in this matter. Makes no sense.

She must have really pissed the owner off...for him to take the time & energy to file charges over a VHS. LOL - The movie did suck...except for Wanda Sykes! She was a hoot!

Harvey said on TMZ LIVE said that having a law that prosecutes people for stealing video cassettes is a "Stupid Law". Well Harvey I agree. In fact I think we should be able to take and make anything we want. Toward that end, please visit the TMZ store and select any item. Contact me and I will sell you a knock off. Harvey won't mind. He si opposed to "Stupid Laws." Unless they effect his Liberal Ass. Dumb ****.
