Malaysian Plane

Cell Tower Could Be the Key

In Mysterious Disappearance

3/13/2014 11:54 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

A cell tower in Kota Bharu could be the missing puzzle piece in the mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 last weekend.

There's a theory ... the aircraft doubled back over Malaysia after it began to cross the South China Sea, and crashed off the opposite coast instead ... somewhere in the Malacca Strait.

Malaysian officials have rejected the theory -- but if it's true (as some still believe) the plane would have passed over the city of Kota Bharu, which contains a powerful Celcom cellular phone tower.

Credible mobile analysts tell TMZ, if the plane flew over the tower there's a high likelihood the tower would contain data transmitted by cell phones inside the aircraft ... if the phones were on.

Roughly 30% of passengers leave their phones ON during flights -- this according to published reports.

So ... the cellular tower could be the critical piece of evidence to either prove or disprove the U-turn theory.

We've reached out to Celcom about possible data transmitted to the Kota Bharu cell tower -- so far, no word back.

What's so odd to me is I could lose my tiny cellphone and immediately be able to use gps to locate it within 200 ft or so. I am really confused why this plane didn't have any location technology.

At least in this speculative report they didnt say the flight was lost "back in the day". It's doubtful Celcom will respond to your teenage staff.

So TMZ, a site which can barely get a story told without incorrect spelling or grammar has a theory that trumps international aviation experts and agencies. If you have that information I can promise you it didn't come from any of your flunkies.

Too bad Justin Bieber wasn't on the plane.

Dear TMZ, leave news to news sources, stick to the sensationalized garbage you're so good at.

What if cabin lost pressure or oxygen (like whatever happened to Payne Stewart), and maybe pilots tried to return to airport but everyone perished quickly and plane flew on auto-pilot until fuel ran out. It was reported that last words from pilot were mumbled. So sad, 200+ souls lost. :(

For me, there is no "great mystery" as to who may be the culprits in the disappearance of flight MH370; a rouge pilot, or two rouge pilots working in consort.

The only question to be asked is-- why?

A thorough investigation should be launched into the activities, and associations of the captain, and the first officer spanning back at least six months prior the disappearance of the aircraft.

A deep comprehensive probe into the lives of the pilots will garner all the leads authorities will need to put this so-called mystery to bed....Artofwar

My guess is suicide either by co-pilot or pilot.
