Steve Nash

Drops $4.8 Million

On Retirement Home

Forget Shady Pines, when Steve Nash retires ... he'll be in the lap of luxury -- 'cause the L.A. Lakers star just dropped $4.8 million on a Manhattan Beach pad ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Our real estate sources tell us ... Nash had been on the hunt for a permanent home on the West Coast -- somewhere he could settle down after his NBA career. Then he found a 4,175 square foot gem just 2 blocks from the sand.

Problem is ... it's super ugly and outdated.

Solution is ... we're told Nash is gonna knock the whole thing down and build his dream house.

We're told the place was originally listed for $5 million ... but Nash was able to get the price down to $4.8 mil with an all-cash offer. Strong.

Sources tell us Nash already has a builder in mind and wants to get to work ASAP.

As for the "Shady Pines" reference in the first line -- yeah, we like the "Golden Girls."  Back off.

If you actually know Nash you'll find out that he's pretty fake. Look at his lifestyle and his marriage. Don't get fooled by his whiteness, dude fronts like no other.

I don't like Nash.He ripped off the Lakers. Sits on his ass and watches the team lose while getting a nice fat paycheck. We need to send him back to Canada with Bieber.

The interiors aren't too bad, though there are a couple of weird, inconvenient angles in a couple of the rooms. The exteriors needs a complete re-do though.

The house is right on top of the main drag. That alone is a big negative. I bet the seller was shocked they finally sold it. No matter what remodeling he does to it, the location is permanent. It's true what they say about location, location, location.

No wonder he refuses to retire and save the Lakers the $10 million. He needed a new house. But what a bum. Go back to Arizona. That was one of the dumbest trades the Lakers have made. So many draft picks given up for an over the hill player who can rarely play.

Used to be the bestest Canadian until JB hit the scene. Sorry Nash: NO RING 4 U!!! Justin hates when he goes to McD's for a Big Mac & Fries & they McSqueeze the fry container so he only gets half an order of fries. Bieber is warning all his fans about this McScam. Next time it happens to you, make sure you confront the McEmployee! Tell them to fill your fries without squeezing the container! JB actually found out that this trick is taught to McEmployees during their McTraining!!!

You paid all that money to have a house that sits on a main road - are you kidding? Not to mention, that is too much beige for me inside. Hate to hurt your feelings, but that's an ugly home.
