EXCLUSIVE

Ultimate Warrior Cause of DeathThe Ultimate Warrior died from a massive heart attack ... this according to the medical examiner who conducted the autopsy, TMZ has learned.

Officials tell TMZ ... the official cause of death for Warrior -- real name James Hellwig -- was determined to be "Atherosclerotic/Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease" ... aka heart disease.

Officials classified Warrior's death as "natural" -- meaning neither drugs nor alcohol were directly involved.

As we previously reported, Warrior clutched his chest outside of an Arizona hotel on April 8 while walking with his wife. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but never regained consciousness.

Warrior was 54 years old.

I would guess the roids played a part in this. Does the WWE have a testing program for the athletes they have now. A testing program by an independent testing company. Steroids used to gain muscle in a non medical setting needs to be seriously banned with very stiff penalties. Ones selling this garbage need to go to prison for a long time.

Yeah maybe it was genetic, and yeah maybe long term stereo use when he was younger had ill effects now..doesnt change the fact that he was and always will be a legendary wrestler in the WWE and for the fans.

I'm pretty sure his heart was super enlarged too. When you do steroids it enlarges all the muscle in your body including you heart. I wonder if he would do the same thing to himself if given a second chance?...

I love all the amateur medical examiners on here .... poor diet and family history of heart disease kill people every day in America and and a huge % have never lifted a weight.... and you all think he died from roid abuse for sure. Ignorance reigns supreme

I was around guys that shot drugs (Venice CA scene).

Professionals.

On one hand they can't compete without them.

On the other hand there's no future/longevity.

Early death.

My thoughts with his people and family.

Congratulations on a great career.

Ultimate Warrior BECAME Someone -

Took guts to make the decisions/choices he made.

Let's also not forget about all the hard gym work.

The weights, the early mornings, the injuries.

He'd agree right now it was all worth it.

There are going to be some muscular worms after they feed on his roid infested body.

I think everyone already knew what the cause of his passing away was (Including the fact that his past use of steroids most likely results in him having a bad heart).

Gotta love the morons that post on the pro wrestling "news stories". The Warrior HASN'T wrestled professionally in ages. Before he got into wrestling he was a known "gym rat" and a very health conscious person. When the Warrior got into the WWF he was an instant success, as the Warrior character. That's what's so funny about the morons talking trash, they're the ones that actually believe Jim Hellwig walked around in face paint 24/7 grunting and body slamming people. The man treated wrestling as a business and the Warrior character was a role that he played successfully. When he stopped wrestling DECADES ago it was on his terms and he never went back. He had plenty of money, he didn't have to go around posing for Polaroids at VFW halls for $10 a picture. He was an artist and he made a living licensing his character and painting. Those aren't jobs that require steroids or a muscles up frame. Warrior wasn't on steroids this past twenty years or more.
