Transgender B. Scott

Loses Discrimination Battle with BET

4/17/2014 12:02 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

BET can dress its hosts however the hell it wants -- even if that means forcing a transgender person to dress like a man -- and that's why the judge threw out B. Scott's discrimination lawsuit.

TMZ broke the story, Scott sued the network, claiming it humiliated him during the BET Awards last year by forcing him to change from women's clothes into men's clothes ... and then yanking him off the show entirely.

But the judge in the case just ruled in the network's favor, dismissing the lawsuit.

The judge ruled BET has the 1st Amendment right to run its shows the way it wants ... and that includes ordering Scott to change from women's to men's clothes ... and that's that.

Scott tells TMZ, "It disheartens me that the message sent today wasn't a message of acceptance, but rather it's acceptable to discriminate against transgender individuals on the basis of their gender identity and expression."

Scott's attorney has said he plans to appeal the decision.

trannies are delusional, how dare a tv show tell a person how to dress um hello it is their show. Also sorry but this he/she or it or whatever scott is has no more career. Who would hire it when it sued its last employer. Oh well I hear Harvey is hiring.

Yes, I'm glad BET won! BET has every right to choose how they want to their spokes people to dress for THEIR events! This tranny does not run the show!

Ok, so let me get this straight...So, B.Scott alleges that it's not fair for BET to force him to dress as a MAN for THEIR event that they are PAYING him for but it's fair for him to force them to accept him dressed as a woman and PAY for it??!! It's BET's party, they can do whatever the heck they want at their party and if he doesn't like it, he can leave. I don't have a problem with the LGBT community but I do have a problem with someone who is basically an employee trying to force their employer to allow them to do as they CHOOSE.

BET needs to ask to be reimbursed for their lawyers cost if the he/she appeals this. Employers have the right to enforce dress codes.

If BET had something against BScott's gender identity they wouldn't of hired him in the first place. BScott was digging for attention when he choose to sue, then decided to make it like its a discrimination towards ALL gay and transgenders people. I hate when people do that. I hope that this doesn't ruin him getting hired at other gigs but BScott should be ashamed of himself for making this bigger than what it was. One thing everyone must accept is that not everyone is going to like or accept you, and you can't always think that you can change their mind. That's their right.
