They're 5'6" and 125 lbs ... but the WWE's Bella Twins are a helluva lot stronger than they look -- and they've got the numbers to back it up.

TMZ Sports shot Brie (white top) and Nikki (looooow top) out in NYC yesterday when we asked what kind of weight they're pushing around in the gym.

When it comes to deadlifting, Nikki's a beast -- dropping a number that's close to TWICE her own body weight.

It makes sense, considering her BF is John Cena -- who's known for being a beast himself in the gym.
