Michael Jace

Extreme Physical Violence

Against Ex-Wife

5/20/2014 11:22 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

Michael Jace Domestic Violence

Michael Jace was a violent, abusive husband who choked his wife in front of their kid ... this according to legal docs from his prior divorce.

Jace -- who was booked Tuesday morning for allegedly murdering his wife April -- went through a divorce in 1997.  In the docs -- obtained by TMZ -- a friend of Jennifer Bitterman claims she personally witnessed Jace choking and slamming Jennifer against a wall ... as his 6-month-old son screamed in his crib next to them.

The friend says he was raging and out of control and "seeing the extent of his anger was one of the most terrifying things I have ever seen."

The friend continues ... there were multiple physical assaults on the ex-wife.

It's republicans fault. In fact, if you follow the trail far enough, it's W's fault.

Probably he was mentally and emotionally abuse for his wife. Words hurt more than punches. ! The man was under emotional abuse and each man had some limits. It's a story that repeat over and over....women need to know where shut your mouth. SHUT YOUR MOUTH !

Sorry she's dead. And mostly so so sorry innocent young lives saw what they saw. But as a woman, I can not understand women subjecting themselves and their children to this type of d-bag.

This is such a sad story that happens all too often. Breaks my heart for this woman's family and especially her children. Sadly, may she now finally be at peace.

One thing to be noted about domestic violence: it NEVER starts with a murder. It is insidious, and progressive and begins with usually, verbal abuse and moves up to pushing, slapping, kicking, choking. Likely, he threatened his wife with shooting her well before he acted on it. Men like this should be locked up.

There is trend of men getting violent with "ex"s. Authorities should look into the cause. I put the blame on her.

Wonder how old April was? 25-34? Homicide is the fourth leading cause of death for black females in the United States.

Yes, but judges don't care and seem to give men the royal treatment and assume innocence. No matter how many witness's you bring in. If they were not arrested it's like it never happened.

TO ALL THE DUMB "LOSERS" THAT BELIEVE THAT IT'S THE WOMEN FAULT!!!!!!

Abusers choose to behave violently to get what they want and gain control. Their behaviour often originates from a sense of entitlement which is often supported by sexist, racist, homophobic and other discriminatory attitudes.

Domestic violence against women by men is 'caused' by the misuse of power and control within a context of male privilege. Male privilege operates on an individual and societal level to maintain a situation of male dominance, where men have power over women and children. Perpetrators of domestic violence choose to behave abusively to get what they want and gain control. Their behaviour often originates from a sense of entitlement which is often supported by sexist, racist, homophobic and other discriminatory attitudes. In this way, domestic violence by men against women can be seen as a consequence of the inequalities between men and women, rooted in patriarchal traditions that encourage men to believe they are entitled to power and control over their partners.

I once broke up with a guy for changing the channel. So I'd be hot damn if I stay with one that yells, let alone hit me. I do blame the women, in addition to the abuser, because an abused woman has a multitude of 'outs' (police, shelters, advocacy groups, hospital liaison, etc) to escape an abusive relationship. I'm not blaming the dead woman in this situation, clearly she was no match for a gun. But the Ex wife left for a reason. I'm just saying...

I've seen elsewhere that Jace and his first wife divorced in 2002. Does TMZ even research anything before they write articles?
