Katy Perry SuedKaty Perry Stole Black Horse

Katy Perry
blatantly stole a song from a Christian hip-hop singer and then tarnished it with witchcraft, paganism and black magic ... at least that's the claim in a new lawsuit.

According to the suit -- obtained by TMZ -- Perry's hit song "Dark Horse" is a rip-off of an award-winning Christian gospel song called "Joyful Noise" ... that was released 5 years before Perry's track.

The suit was filed by an artist known as Flame -- along with other singers. They say Perry not only hijacked their religious music ... she also destroyed their reputation in the Christian music world ... because they're now associated with the anti-Christian witchcraft and imagery that appears in the "Dark Horse" music video.

They're suing for damages ... and want Perry to stop using any form of their music ... stat.

So we gotta ask ...

The background is basically the same. It's a tad slower, and a bit lower in pitch, but the same. Maybe the rumors are true after all: Perry sold her soul to the Devil to become famous.

She definitely stole their song. This isn't her first theft.

My daughter loves Dark Horse, which really upsets my mom because the rap part says "eat your heart out like Geoffrey Dahmer". Lol. My daughter doesn't even know who that guy is. Lol. My mom is offended by a Katy Perry song.

Ha Ha Ha! What a joke. The only thing that sounds at all similar are those cheesy synthetic 8 beats that a 3 year old could put together. He put it on repeat using his $49 Electronic Keyboard. He's claiming that. HA HA HA.

crappy 3 chord progressions that you can find in thousands of songs... both songs' rhythm start with the same 2 chords but end with a different one, I know because I'm a graduate from MIT (masturbation institute of teleprompters), I reject the claim and order both songs to be flushed down the toilet into poop oblivion

Bottom line SAME beat.... You can not STEAL another persons beat and not expect to be sued ... All songs have someone who writes the lyrics and someone who creates the beats and if you did not write the lyrics or create the beat you can not use it without permission! Some producers take in hundreds and thousands of dollars just for the BEAT!

The only people that should be suing is the group Art of Noise because their song Moments in Love is clearly heard in Katy Perry's Dark Horse song.

I always wonder if these popular musicians don't just go through youtube to rip off others' songs but I can't stand her shriekey voice enough to compare.

the so called "original" track.. has a lame low quality instrumental, probably produced by themselves in their mothers bedroom ... now someone else used the same notes in their song and they go after them with a lawsuit ? ... so today's key to success is:
"If you can't make it yourself, sue someone who did and claim that they plagiarised your song"
