Ashley Greene

Torched Apt Sells for a Million

After Amazing Makeover

7/9/2014 12:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0708_ashley_greene_condo_fire_photo_launchAshley Greene's ex landlord finally unloaded the Sunset Strip apartment the 'Twilight' star set on fire last year -- for $1.1 million -- but Ashley could still be on the hook, financially, for the blaze.

The 2-bedroom, 1,800 square-foot Hollywood apartment had to be completely remodeled -- the photos show the transformation -- after it was burnt to a crisp back in March 2013. Our real estate sources tell us the repairs cost $303,000 ... and the building's HOA insurance ended up footing the bill.

As we previously reported -- Ashley, her brother, a friend and her 2 dogs were inside the apartment when a lit candle started the fire. One of the dogs died.

By law, the new owners had to be told about the fire and the dog.

Ashley's still dealing with lawsuits from her old landlord, the building owner, several neighbors, and even the doorman -- and the HOA is still trying to get her insurance to reimburse the $303K.

I think you are turning into Homes and Gardens of the Rich and Famous and it's pathetic but your perennial dating-site commenters don't seem to have a view either way.

TMZ you should link to the video of her going into Chick Fil-A during the height of the Prop 8 furor. She's a gay hater and shouldn't even live in WeHo.

You don't get $303K just because that is what it cost to remodel. It is like hitting a 2002 Toyota, and expecting to get $40K for a brand new one.
You get the value of the items that were damaged at the time they were damaged. It was probably pretty nice before, but I am betting that apartment is a lot nicer now.

Bottom line, what a stupid story. The fire was an ACCIDENT and the insurance covered the damages as it should. Why else do you buy insurance? Must be a really slow or TMZ is just trying to stir up s#it where none exists.

She needs to pay up...its her responsibility especially in an apt with a HOA. She's probably trying to make a buck off the insurance money...cause her career isn't exactly raking her in tons of cash!!
