0730-omri-casspi-facebookSacramento Kings player Omri Casspi visited Israeli soldiers ... and brought basketballs.

Casspi explained, "Visiting heroic soldiers in Tel HaShomer."

The Israeli-born athlete -- a 1st round pick in the 2009 NBA Draft -- is currently back in his home country ... and has said he's been living in and out of bomb shelters since the fighting intensified a few weeks ago.

The 26-year-old has been pretty outspoken about his feelings on the conflict -- in fact, when his former Houston Rockets teammate Dwight Howard tweeted #FreePalestine recently, Omri shot back with a message of his own:

"600 missiles been fired from GAZA by Hamas in last 4 days. NUMBERS DON’T LIE. STOP LYING."

Good he brought basketballs. Maybe now Israel can launch them at schools instead of rockets.
