Early Stages of Parkinson's Disease

Robin Williams' wife says he was in the early stages of Parkinson's disease at the time of his death -- but she says he wanted to keep that battle under wraps.

Susan Schneider just released a statement, saying ... "Robin's sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson's Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly."

Susan does not draw a connection between the Parkinson's and Robin's suicide.

She added, "It is our hope in the wake of Robin’s tragic passing, that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid.”

bahhh

I do not know much about Parkinson's, but isn't that what Michael J. Fox has, also..? Funny (as in ironic) that both had drinking problems..As I said, I am not familiar with Parkinson's, but wondering if alcohol may contribute to it..Just lost my mom to Alzheimer's, she was a smoker, and there is no concrete proof, but some suggest smoking might contribute to Alzheimer's..

Unfortunately his parkinson's was not far advanced. Otherwise he couldn't have hanged himself! SAD!

It is very sad how he suffered and how he died but enough on Robin Williams. Let the man rest in peace.

You know...if we was on ropinirole for early stage Parkinson's...that medication is a dopamine agonist and can more often than not increase suicidal ideations, especially in someone already depressed.

Too many conflicting stories. He had Parkinson's, he fell off the wagon, If his sobriety was in tact, why had he gone to rehab? blah blah blah.... Just let his soul rest in peace.
