UFC Fighter Luke Rockhold

I'm Sorry For Cupping Tiger Testicles

8/27/2014 7:53 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0827-ufc-luke-rockhold-instagramUFC fighter Luke Rockhold worked on his grip Tuesday in Thailand ... and by that, we mean he grabbed a tiger by the balls -- and now the UFC fighter is apologizing.

The 29-year old middleweight posted a pic of the impromptu animal physical online ... only to issue an apology a short time later.

Rockhold tweeted, "For those of u who think it was disrespectful I'm sorry.  Was so minor just joking around.  I was way too scared and would never do anything harmful to any animal."

Believe it or not ... there are several tiger parks all over Thailand ... and taking pics with the giant cats is a super popular thing to do.

Cupping their balls however, is not.

There's a problem here

If you really want to be a man, next time offer your balls to the tiger.

I don't think it's "disrespectful" but it is kinda weird...who goes around groping tiger balls? Does he feel the same urges when he sees them in the locker room?

Tiger parks may be popular in Thailand, but that doesn't make them right. Even the tamest of tiger is dangerous. Their strong jaws and large, sharp teeth and claws can tear flesh, shred arteries, and crush bones. You never know what they're thinking, and the slightest wrong move could be interpreted badly by the tiger, and you could lose a body part or even your life, because it can happen too quickly for you to escape.

They are beautiful creatures that need our help to avoid extinction, but they must be respected in that there needs to be a secure barrier between us and them. Unfortunately, there are an estimated 5000 - 10000 tigers in captivity in the USA, more than the number in the wild, many in terrible conditions, and many bred (overbred, inbred, and cross-subspecies bred) for the exotic pet trade, and they'll never be fit for wild release because of sketchy genetics, inferior hunting skills, and familiarity with humans.

The tiger doesn't seem to mind - unless it's drugged?

They drug those tigers constantly for the whole day so people can pet them. Thailand is a pos country.
