Street artist Retna got arrested for busting out his best spray paint on a ritzy furniture store ... since they didn't hire him to do so.
Retna, who created Justin Bieber's "Purpose" album art, got busted last week at HD Buttercup in downtown L.A. Law enforcement sources tell us he tried to pull a Banksy, tagging the famous store after dark.
Of course, Banksy doesn't get caught.
Retna's had a few other famous arrests, but avoided serious jail time. He's been charged with felony vandalism, and could get 3 years behind bars if convicted.
