Prince's Sound Engineer Makes 8-Figure Offer For Massive Music Vault

8/24/2017 1:00 AM PDT

Prince's former sound engineer is claiming victory over the estate in their battle over song rights, at the same time the engineer made an 8-figure offer to own Prince's enormously valuable music vault.

George Boxill claims the late singer gave him the masters and the rights to a number of Prince's published songs, which Boxill also claims he co-wrote.

The songs have been the subject of prolonged litigation, but Boxill says the estate recently admitted in open court he did indeed have the right to release the tracks and profit from them. This is a dramatic turn, since the estate actually got an injunction that derailed Boxill from releasing all but one song. Boxill is aggressively trying to get the injunction overturned.

Now here's where it gets good. Sources connected to Boxill tell TMZ, Boxill and his music label, RMA, recently made a $10 million offer to the cash-strapped estate for the entire vault of unreleased music, but our sources say they were turned down flat.

There were reports Jay-Z offered $40 mil but we're told it was way less and was for the entire catalog. Universal actually made a $31 mil offer for the entire catalog but the deal fell apart.

We reached out to various lawyers for the estate ... so far, no word back.

Charlottesville Riots White Supremacist Chris Cantwell Turns Himself In

8/23/2017 9:00 PM PDT

White supremacist and one of the organizers of the Charlottesville Riots Chris Cantwell has turned himself in to police.

Cantwell turned himself in Wednesday after the University of Virginia Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest earlier in the week. The warrants were for two counts of illegal use of tear gas and one count of malicious bodily injury with a caustic substance.

Cantwell was profiled in a piece by Vice about the August 11 riots that took the life of Heather Heyer, who was hit by a car driven through a crowd by 20-year-old James Alex Fields.

Cantwell is currently being held in Lynchburg, VA and awaiting transport to Charlottesville.

'Blacks for Trump' Guy Former Cult Wants Nothing to Do with Him

8/24/2017 12:50 AM PDT

The guy with the "Blacks for Trump" t-shirt who sat behind President Trump is so out there ... his former cohorts in a cult, accused of murdering a bunch of people, want nothing to do with him.

Members of the cult Yahweh ben Yahweh were tried for conspiracy to commit murder in the '90s. The guy in the t-shirt, Maurice Symonette, was also charged but was eventually acquitted.

Famed attorney Jayne Weintraub, who repped not only cult leader Hulon Mitchell, Jr. but also Symonette, tells TMZ the cult has absolutely no affiliation with Symonette anymore, nor do they want any.

Weintraub says, "Mr. Symonette's voice is his own personal views and should not be a reflection or associated with the Nation of Yahweh."

That's when you know you're super unpopular.

Aaron Carter Someone Tried to Bust into My Home And I'm Getting Harassed

8/24/2017 12:40 AM PDT

Aaron Carter got a 2-for-1 deal when he called cops to report harassment and hate-filled texts ... 'cause they also found evidence of someone trying to burglarize his home ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Aaron called cops early Wednesday in St. Petersburg, FL because he was getting bombarded with texts and phone calls. Sources close to Aaron say multiple people tied to his inner circle are behind the harassment campaign.

Cops say while they were at his home, Aaron also told them about an attempted break-in while he was out of town -- and sure enough, they found signs someone tried to get in his back door.

Police say they're investigating the harassment and the attempted burglary. Aaron's rep had no comment.

There's a lot that sucks about Aaron's life lately. Just ask him ...

'Purge' Producer Dog Walker's Threatening My Wife & Pup Over Matt & Ben Meeting

8/24/2017 12:30 AM PDT

One of the guys behind 'The Purge' movies had to purge his dog walker because she allegedly threatened to kill his pup ... all over a creepy obsession with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

Brad Fuller -- who also produced "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" -- says this horror story started in May when the dog walker accosted his wife, demanding to meet Matt and/or Ben. According to legal docs, obtained by TMZ, she said "many lives would be lost" unless she got the intro.

Brad fired her and changed his locks, but says the woman started texting his wife 150 times a day ... and threatened to poison their dog. He says they reported her to LAPD, but after a detective went to her home ... she texted his wife, "I will make sure you never walk again."

Brad says the woman was put on an involuntary 72-hour hold at UCLA Medical following the incident. The court granted him a restraining order, which also protects his wife and their Rottweiler, Duke.

Duke easily wins the big head competition!

'Gays for Trump' Prez Defends 'Blacks for Trump' Guy

8/24/2017 12:20 AM PDT

The president of "Gays for Trump" believes Trump and his team allowed the bizarre black guy to sit behind him because they liked the message on his t-shirt and sign but never dug further.

Peter Boykin -- who runs the pro-Trump LGBT group -- essentially says, "What's a President to do?" You see a cool tee and you run with it.

Here's the problem ... had Trump's people simply logged on to (which was written on the damn sign), they would have seen all the craziness ... comparing Cherokees to the KKK, calling Oprah the devil, and putting Hillary and ISIS in the same boat.

Boykin says he's met the "Blacks for Trump" dude, Maurice Symonette, and says he's a good guy. BTW, we found out he was tried but acquitted of conspiracy to commit murder back in the '90s.

Boykin has nearly 70,000 Twitter followers, though it's unclear how many are members of "Gays for Trump."

Guess Who This Polka Dot Kid Turned Into!

Before this matching girl was spotted in Hollywood, she was just another fashionable youngster growing up in England. Can you guess who she is?

Mariah Carey I'm Making French's Hook 'Unforgettable'

8/23/2017 5:59 PM PDT

French Montana's hit, "Unforgettable," is about to be just that -- or even more so -- now that Mariah Carey is adding her vocals to a remix.

TMZ got this clip of the new version, which drops Thursday morning, and Mimi's taking over the hook. She drops the lines, "It's not good enough for me since I been with you. It's not gonna work for you. Nobody can equal me ... I know."

Almost like it was written for her in the first place ... right?

Swae Lee did it on the original, and he's still on it too ... just mixed with Mariah's smooth vocals.

Floyd's Dad to Bieber Just Cause You Changed Doesn't Mean Floyd Should!

8/23/2017 5:48 PM PDT

Floyd Mayweather Sr. has his son's back in his beef with Justin Bieber -- saying the pop star unfairly kicked Floyd to the curb just because he found God.

As we previously reported, Floyd Jr. is furious with his former friend -- who's been distancing himself after some counseling from his church. Bieber even decided to unfollow Floyd on Instagram as part of a bigger plan to back away from people who don't share the same Christian values.

Enter Floyd Sr. ... who says he doesn't really know if the two will ever be able to bury the hatchet.

He also said Justin needs to be true to himself -- but just because he's a godly man now doesn't mean Floyd has to change.

The message is essentially ... Floyd's still the same guy who had your back in the past -- you shouldn't push him away now.

But will Bieber get an invite to the Mayweather vs. McGregor after-party?

"He might," Floyd says ... "It's a maybe."

Breaking News

Hundreds of people rallied in support of Colin Kaepernick in NYC Wednesday -- including Susan Sarandon -- who said proudly, "I'm With Kaep."

The "United We Stand" rally went down in front of the NFL headquarters in New York -- stars like Kurtis Blow, ex-NFL player Willie Colon and rapper Mysonne were all there.

Sarandon tweeted about the rally -- saying, "Together we win. I stand with Colin."

Members of Kaepernick's college fraternity -- Kappa Alpha Psi (a historically black fraternity) -- were also marching for the QB.

Several people gave speeches applauding Kaep for taking a stand -- and imploring NFL owners to sign him.

Rihanna Snaps Up New Crib In Same Hood Kendall Left

8/23/2017 3:59 PM PDT

Kendall Jenner's WeHo hood is Rihanna's future hang ... 'cause she just closed on a mansion right near the house KJ fled.

Sources close to the deal tell TMZ ... Rihanna recently purchased the crib above the Sunset Strip for a cool $6.8 million. It's got 6 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and just over 7,000 square feet of space. There's also a movie theater inside, a fully equipped gym, a fireplace, a billiard room and a guest house ... plus a pool and a huge yard.

It's also gated ... which could come in handy around those parts. As we reported, Kendall recently unloaded her WeHo home after about a year of grief -- which included a stalker encounter and a high dollar theft.

No sign of concern from Rihanna just yet, though. Just a moving truck.

Akon 'Blacks for Trump' Guy's a Sellout ... Just Like the GOP

8/23/2017 2:20 PM PDT

Akon thinks the guy holding the "Blacks for Trump" sign at his Phoenix rally has sold himself -- and the black community -- out for a quick buck ... not unlike the rest of the GOP.

We got the singer at LAX, and he gave us his 2 cents on Maurice Symonette ... the lone black dude behind Trump on Tuesday ... and he thinks it's a case of sell-your-soul ... a game he also believes is being played by other Republicans to protect Trump.

It doesn't sound like Akon knows about Symonette's past -- or his current political philosophies -- and it's interesting that he tries painting him as someone who only supports Trump for an alleged payoff.

Still, he makes a good point about what the country is looking like these days -- a state of affairs he usually sees outside our borders.

Floyd Mayweather I Can Take Conor's 'Bombs' ... Can He Handle Mine??

8/23/2017 1:06 PM PDT
Breaking News

Even when Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather were trying to keep things business-like days before the fight, there were still insults flying at their final news conference.

Conor dropped the B word -- again -- vowing to "f**k this boy up" come Saturday night. He said it way more calmly this time around, but still didn't back off using the racially charged term.

For his part, Floyd complimented Conor -- calling him a tremendous fighter -- but reminded him of the the long list of boxing greats he'd defeated on the path to 49-0. As Floyd put it ... Pacquiao, Canelo and Mosley all had "had bombs" too.

During the pose off ... Floyd got a face full of Conor's breath. Hope his breath was, at least, minty fresh.
