Stick a fork in "American Idol" ... it's done -- at least according to former champ Kris Allen, who strongly insinuated the show has run its course.

Kris -- who beat out Adam Lambert to win Season 8 -- was in LA yesterday when we asked if he caught the "Idol" finale Wednesday night. But like millions of former "Idol" fans across the country, Kris said he did NOT.

In fact, Kris said it might be time to pull the plug on "Idol" ... for good.

But it could be a case of "Bitter, party of one." Kris' latest album is only projected to sell a measly 15-20k in it's first week ... and there are rumblings that he will be dropped from his record label.

So we gotta ask ...

New York Knicks star J.R. Smith was arrested in South Beach last night ... after cops discovered the 26-year-old was a wanted man.

According to reports, Smith was pulled over on a routine traffic stop ... when the officers noticed an active warrant out for Smith's arrest stemming from his failure to address a ticket for driving without a valid license.

Smith was booked into Miami-Dade County jail shortly before midnight. He was released a short time later on bond.

Calls to J.R.'s agent have not been returned.

7:27 AM PDT -- Law enforcement officials say Jenna sustained minor injuries in the crash ... but refused medical treatment. 

Cops say Jenna has been released from custody.


Jenna Jameson was arrested on suspicion of DUI early this morning ... TMZ has learned. 

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the porn queen was involved in a single car accident at around 1:30 AM after her car struck a light pole. 

According to our sources, Jameson showed signs of possibly being under the influence of alcohol and was given a field sobriety test . We're told she was subsequently arrested for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI.

She is currently in custody and she will be cited and released.

Charlie Sheen tells TMZ ... he is NOT the mystery buyer who dropped $230k on Lawrence Taylor's Super Bowl ring ... despite widespread media reports to the contrary.

LT had gifted the Super Bowl XXV ring to his son TJ ... who decided to put the ring up for auction without asking his father for permission first.  It sold for $230,401 ... and LT's agent told various media outlets he believed Sheen was the buyer.

According to Sheen ... LT's agent was wrong.

“As much as I would be honored to own such an important artifact, I had nothing to do with the acquisition" ... Sheen tells us.

It's not a crazy rumor ... considering Sheen is a bigtime sports memorabilia collector who already owns Babe Ruth's 1927 World Series ring.

No word if the REAL buyer plans to reveal his or her identity any time soon.

TMZ has obtained Amber Portwood's newest mug shot ... taken moments after she surrendered to police in Indiana yesterday.

We broke the story ... the MTV "Teen Mom" star was taken into custody after she told the judge she would rather serve hard time in prison than finish out the rest of her court-ordered drug rehab program.

Amber is currently at the Madison County jail ... where she will remain until a hearing is set. A judge will then decide how long Amber will stay behind bars.

A WWE event in Brazil came to a screeching halt Thursday evening ... when local law enforcement stopped a live match and threatened to arrest Chris Jericho for desecrating the Brazilian flag.

It all went down during a match between Jericho and C.M. Punk -- who was proudly waving the flag in the ring. Jericho took the flag away, crumpled it up and kicked the flag out of the ring ... and that's when police stepped in and put a stop to the event.


We're told Jericho was informed that desecrating the national flag is a crime in Brazil ... punishable by incarceration.

Cops gave Jericho an option -- apologize to the arena ... or go to jail. Chris chose the former ...  grabbing the mic and telling the crowd he immediately regretted his actions. Cops allowed the event to continue.

Sources connected to the WWE tell TMZ ... the flag stunt was NOT planned or approved by WWE officials.

The WWE has just released an official statement saying, "Chris Jericho has been suspended indefinitely  due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE event in Sao Paulo on May 24. The WWE has apologized to the citizens and the government of Brazil for this incident."


6:34 AM PDT -- Jericho has tweeted about the incident ... saying, " Just for the record I love Brazil and wish we could've spent more time here. Beautiful country!"

"Teen Mom" train wreck Amber Portwood was handcuffed and taken into custody yesterday -- after asking a judge to lock her up in prison -- and TMZ has obtained photos of her final moments as a free woman.

Amber appeared emotionless on her way into an Indiana courtroom -- where she showed up for a weekly drug court hearing -- and as we reported, she threw in the towel on the entire rehab thing.

Amber told the judge she hadn't stayed clean since he sentenced her to the rehab program following her December drug arrest ... and will always be a "bad girl" -- so she'd rather just face the 5-year prison sentence the judge originally gave her.

It was shocking, but Amber left the judge with no choice -- so he remanded her into custody.

Amber will remain in custody until her sentencing in a few weeks.

Britney Spears walked off the set of "X Factor" moments ago ... and according to several people in the audience, she was upset after a contestant butchered her song, "Hold It Against Me."

Britney did not come back immediately ... and four contestants auditioned in front of the remaining judges ... and an empty seat.

Someone connected with the show tells us Britney was not upset over the song -- and that she "Just took a short break."

The show is currently on a break -- so we don't know if or when she will return to her seat.

Kim Kardashian is telling friends she's totally klean ... and God help the tabloids that say she's a pill popper.

Our Kardashian sources tell us Kim is furious over a report in an Australian mag claiming she takes Valium and sleeping pills in dangerous amounts, and the family is alarmed. Based on what we're told, it appears Kim is not only Rx free, but she barely touches alcohol.


We've learned Kim has summoned her lawyers, who are about to fire off letters to the media outlets that report or pick up the Australian story ... saying they'll do so at their own peril.

BTW, the article also say Khloe has given her an ultimatum -- either stop taking pills within 3 weeks or she'll tell Kris Jenner and Kanye. Our Khloe sources say it's totally false.

Wilmer Valderrama is either a loud, obnoxious, inconsiderate home owner ... or his neighbor is a crotchety pain in the ass ... this according to a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ.

The former "70s Show" star is being sued by his next door neighbor Baruch Eichenbaum ... who claims Wilmer has been throwing RAGERS at his L.A. home for years ... and the noise is unbearable.

In the suit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, the neighbor says he's bothered by "ongoing and continuing loud and disturbing noises from the property" ... from parties at all hours of the day and night.

Baruch also complains about constant noise from barking dogs.

Now here's the rub -- the neighbor says he's fired off at least 7 letters to Wilmer and has made dozens of phone calls to the actor to no avail. Baruch says he's also called the police on several occasions ... and even contacted animal control about the dog barking.

But Wilmer's parties don't stop ... allegedly ... and Baruch claims the shindigs interfere with his sleep. 

Baruch wants a judge for order WIlmer to pipe down ...AND he wants unspecified monetary damages. A rep for Wilmer had no comment.

Now that she's done terribly portraying Bella Swan in "Twilight," Kristen Stewart enjoyed attempting a smile to pose for pics with her "On the Road" co-star Kirsten Dunst in Cannes this week.

Question is ...

Britney Spears' first day as an 'X Factor' judge is NOT a total disaster ... in fact, the pop star has been articulate, encouraging and even funny at times.

Audio has emerged from the first round of auditions in Austin, TX ... where Britney has been dishing out criticism from the judge's table with Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Demi Lovato.

It didn't take long for Britney to clash with Demi ... they disagreed with each other on the very first contestant -- one person LOVED it ... the other, not so much.
