Aldon Smith Checks Into Rehab

7/29/2016 11:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0729-aldon-smith-GETTY-01Aldon Smith has entered a treatment center ... multiple sources connected to the NFL star confirm to TMZ Sports.

Unclear exactly what Smith is seeking treatment for -- but the move comes days after the Oakland Raiders star denied being in a video that appeared to show him with a blunt.

The video surfaced over the weekend -- and while you NEVER see the man's face in the footage -- you can hear a voice that sounds like Smith ... talking about a "fire up session."

At one point in the video, you hear the man's voice say, "They don't know it's me. It's not like I put 'Aldon Smith.'"

Smith has been to rehab before -- completing a stint in 2013 following two DUI arrests.

7/25/2016 12:20 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0722_andy_dick_soba_recovery_tmzAndy Dick has come so far from the depths of his addiction -- when he was getting arrested all the time -- that he's now doing extensive work for a recovery center.

TMZ has learned Andy is a spokesperson for SOBA ... where he's been getting outpatient treatment for 18 months.

SOBA's Founder and CEO, Greg Hannley, says Andy's become an unofficial staff member, promoting the center on local TV appearances, in magazines and he even has one-on-one meetings with other patients ... who tend to open up to him.

The gig doesn't pay -- Hannley says it's simply Dick's way of paying it forward.

Andy tells us this is the first time he's been excited about sobriety and he's never felt better. SOBA was his 20th rehab stint.

WWE Hall of Famer Sunny 90 Days Sober ... And I Feel Great!

6/19/2016 12:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0617-sunny-at-facility-tmzWWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch -- aka Sunny -- says she's been booze-free for 90 DAYS and loves the feeling of being clean so much, she doesn't want to leave rehab!

As we previously reported, the first WWE Diva entered rehab back in March following a string of DUI arrests.

We spoke with Tammy who says she knew she was in a bad place -- both mentally and physically -- and needed help. So, with the help of the WWE, she checked into rehab ... where she's been recovering for the past 3 months.

Tammy says it's the best decision she's ever made -- her days are filled with counseling, self-reflection and various physical activities including rock climbing, camping and ropes courses.

We're told the rehab runs about $40k per month -- and the WWE has covered the past 2 months for Sytch ... and she's incredibly grateful.

"They've been awesome. They just want to see me get better."

As for her plans once she leaves rehab, Sytch says she's still open to working with Vivid (the porn company) ... but says one thing's for sure -- SHE'S DONE WITH ALCOHOL.

Good luck!

Lamar Odom New Rehab Tactic No Confrontation ... It's All Love

6/4/2016 12:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0603-lamar-odom-TMZ-01Lamar Odom flatly rejected the "tough love" intervention, so his other family is trying a different approach ... TLC.

We're told Lamar's aunt, cousin and other New York family members spoke with Lamar Friday, telling him they have faith in him and love him. They say they're trying to boost his self-esteem and open him up to joining a rehab program.

As we reported, Khloe, members of her family and Lamar's L.A. friend have tried several interventions without success.

We're told the family has contacted both in and outpatient facilities -- in Malibu and other areas -- hoping he'll agree. So far he has not.

The family knows an outpatient facility is dicey, and most doctors say it won't work with addiction at his level.

TMZ broke the story ... Lamar appears to be in a full tailspin after drug paraphernalia -- including crack pipes -- were recently found at his home.

Lamar Odom Crack Pipes In Home Friends Confront Him Over Alleged Drug Use

6/3/2016 1:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0602_lamar_odom_tmzLamar Odom's family and friends believe he's back on hard drugs -- and tell us they recently confronted the NBA star and questioned him about crack pipes in his home.

Odom's history with crack is well-documented -- but people close to him thought he'd been scared straight after he overdosed at a Nevada brothel back in October.

But multiple sources close to Odom -- hoping to get through to the NBA star -- tell us he's been acting very strange lately. His friends are convinced he's off the wagon, and for the last few weeks they've been trying to get through to him.

So, a group of people went to his home to convince him to enter rehab -- but Odom scoffed ... telling the group he doesn't need any help. It sounds just like the failed intervention attempt from 2013

During the confrontation, which took place at Odom's home in Calabasas, we're told his friends noticed drug paraphernalia scattered all over the place ... including crack pipes, baggies and roaches.

We're told the fear is that Odom believes he's invincible -- as evidenced by the fact he's been hitting bars and drinking while still recovering from the damage he suffered from the overdose

We reached out to Odom for comment -- so far, no word back.

NOFX's Fat Mike I Detoxed But I'm Going Back to Drugs and Booze

5/29/2016 12:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0525_Fat-Mike_tmzNOFX frontman Fat Mike entered -- and quickly exited -- a detox facility this week.

Reports surfaced Monday that Mike entered rehab to get sober -- but sources close to him say that's only half true.

What really went down is Mike voluntarily checked into an L.A. facility to ween himself off a 2x daily Percocet habit after experiencing prolonged stomach pain -- docs treated, then released him 6 days later.

We're told the punk legend says he has no intention to tone down the punkness. He's not sobering up ... it's just a "mini break" for the sake of his health ... then back to the drugs and booze.

Fat Mike's been open about his vices -- his band just released 'Hepatitis Bathtub,' a book about drug abuse.

Johnny Manziel's Agent Get Treatment Or You're Fired

Breaking News

0413-manziel-rosenhaus-tmz-01

Johnny Manziel has gotten an ultimatum from his agent -- go to rehab ... or find a new agent.

After TMZ Sports broke the story that Manziel was the passenger in an alleged hit-and-run incident over the weekend, Manziel's agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter he's laid down the gauntlet with the QB.

"I have terminated the standard representation with Johnny Manziel in the hopes of helping him get the treatment I believe he needs," Rosenhaus said.

"I have informed him that if he takes the immediate steps I have outlined for him that I will rescind the termination and continue to represent him. Otherwise the termination will become permanent."

"There is a five-day window for me to rescind the termination. I’m hoping he takes the necessary steps to get his life back on track."

Manziel was dropped by his previous agent Erik Burkhardt for similar reasons. Manziel did get treatment last year for an unspecified issue -- but later insisted he did NOT have a drinking problem.

Tom Arnold Offers to Mentor Johnny Manziel ... 'Let's Have Lunch'

4/8/2016 10:35 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Tom Arnold knows firsthand about the dangers of alcohol -- and says he wants to speak with Johnny Manziel to make sure the QB doesn't make the same mistakes he did.

"I'd like to have lunch with him," Arnold said ... "He needs to get a mentor."

Arnold -- who's been very open about his own battle with substance abuse -- is clearly concerned about Manziel but says ... "maybe he's fine, but I'd love to sit down and talk with him."

As for Johnny -- he sought treatment for an undisclosed condition last year -- but says he's currently not drinking and "staying on track."

Lamar Odom Khloe Demanding Trip to Rehab ... He's Saying No, No, No!

3/30/2016 1:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

032916-khole-kardashian-lamar-odom-tmz-02Lamar Odom's drinking has reached crisis level for Khloe Kardashian, and we've learned she desperately wants him to get help NOW ... but Lamar's digging in his heels.

Sources close to the still married duo tell us Khloe's doing everything she can to convince him to get treatment for addiction. We're told LO's happy to go to physical rehab, but refuses to deal with his drug demons.

We're told Khloe's even suggested an outpatient program, but Odom remains defiant.

Odom's own family members are also striking out. According to our sources, they've tried to convince him by pointing out several relatives, including his father, have addiction issues.

We're told Lamar's been communicating with his 2 kids in NY recently, but seeing him in a bar makes even them worry dad will fall back out of their lives.

Bottom line: No one close to Lamar believes he can "casually" drink without opening the door to renewed drug abuse.

Khloe's telling friends and family there will come a point when "she has to stop trying" to save Lamar.

Josh Duggar Out of Rehab ... But Damaged Goods for Family's TV Gigs

3/12/2016 12:50 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0310-josh-duggar-GETTY-01Josh Duggar's rehab stint isn't enough to get him back to work ... on TV, anyway -- he won't be back on camera for any of the Duggar programs.

Sources connected with production for the Duggars tell us TLC will NOT feature Josh on his own show, on family specials, or on his sisters' new series. We're told the family is focused on rebuilding their brand after his molestation scandal -- and trying to move forward without rehashing the past.

Not everyone is persona non grata though ... we're told Josh's wife, Anna, will appear on "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," because she and Josh's children are actively involved with ongoing family story lines.

The Duggars released a statement after Josh left rehab for undisclosed therapy ... saying he will continue counseling and focus on rebuilding the relationships with his family now that he's back in Arkansas.

Robert Downey Jr.'s Son Judge Dismisses Cocaine Case

3/8/2016 1:54 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0308-indio-downey-arriving-to-court-GETTY-02Robert Downey Jr.'s son has followed in his footsteps, getting his drug record wiped clean.

Indio Downey showed up at an L.A. courthouse Tuesday morning, where a judge dismissed his cocaine case, after he submitted proof he had successfully completed a drug diversion program.

The dismissal comes 2 months after California Governor Jerry Brown gave Robert Downey Jr. a full pardon for his drug convictions.

Indio spoke to Judge Lauren Weis Birnstein in open court, saying, "I would like to say I am truly grateful for the experience I had over the last 20 months in recovery." He went on, "I'm so blessed to have my life back. I hope to be an inspiration to work with others in the future."

Indio was arrested in June 2014 in West Hollywood when cops drove alongside the vehicle in which he was riding and noticed he was smoking something out of a pipe. Cops found coke on the actor's son.

The dismissal erases the entire criminal case ... it's as if Indio was never even arrested.

Johnny Manziel's Dad He Needs Help Or He'll Die Before 24th Bday

2/5/2016 7:59 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
Breaking News

1124-johnny-manziel-benched-GETTY-01Johnny Manziel's father says he's tried to get his son into rehab TWICE in the past week -- but Johnny refuses -- and now he's concerned he could die if he doesn't get help, asap.

Paul Manziel spoke with the Dallas Morning News and said, "I truly believe if they can't get him help, he won't live to see his 24th birthday."

Paul told DMN his family first tried to admit 23-year-old Johnny to the Enterhealth Ranch addiction facility in Van Alstyne on Saturday (after the incident with Colleen Crowley) -- but he refused to stay.

On Tuesday, Paul Manziel said he tried a second time ... begging his son to enter the Carrollton Springs Hospital ... which specializes in treating patients who suffer from mental illness and/or addiction.

Again, Johnny refused to stay ... Paul says.

We spoke with Manziel Thursday ... and he insisted, "I'm completely stable. I'm safe and secure."

Chris Brown & Scott Disick We're Keeping Each Other Sober

12/27/2015 12:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
Exclusive Details

1220-chris-brown-scott-disck-1-OAK-SPLASH-01Scott Disick and Chris Brown seem like a bad combo ... they've both struggled with substance abuse yet they've been hanging out ... but they claim they've actually become each other's support system.

We're told the 2 have become fast friends and have bonded over water ... and lots of it. Scott and Chris both insist that's all they drank when they went clubbing together a few days back at 1OAK.

They actually have a lot in common.  Both of their baby mamas have called them out for drugs and/or booze and have threatened to get a judge to yank access to the kids.

We're told Chris has pulled back in a big way since Mia Guzman put him under under the microscope, and Scott's faced the same issues with Kourtney.  It sounds weird and maybe it's a pipe dream, but they both think each can help the other stay strong and sober.

There's a side benefit for Chris ... the more time he spends with Scott and his crew, the less time his has for gangbangers.

The little things in life ...
