Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla, announced the birth on his FB page with a heartfelt letter to their newborn. In it, they say she gives hope for the future, a future they hope includes "advancing human potential and promoting equality."

To do his part, Mark and Priscilla pledged to give away 99% of their FB stock -- worth $45 billion right now -- over the course of their lives. He doesn't specify who will get the dough, but says it'll go to people who improve "this world for the next generation."

It's no empty promise either ... Zuck informed the Securities and Exchange Commission that he'll be unloading the stock, so it's legit.

Jean Jullien, a 27-year-old visual artist tells TMZ when news of the attacks started to spread last night, he needed a way to express himself. He says his first reaction was to draw the symbol of peace and share it as a sign of solidarity ... with the tower serving as an image the world could relate to.

Since then, the image is everywhere ... becoming an unofficial symbol for support. Jullien's first tweet of the drawing has already been shared by almost 50 thousand people and celebs have helped that number grow even bigger.

Fortunately, Jullien's friends and family members are all safe ... he says, "this is an image for everyone, this is a message of peace."

'Cholos Try Vegan' Star I'm So Famous a Cop Let Me Skate!

11/11/2015 12:40 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

One of the stars of "Cholos Try Vegan Food" got a taste of celebrity early Tuesday morning when he was stopped by a cop who recognized him and sent him on his merry way.

Fabian Alomar was heading home from the Staples Center when cops pulled him and a female friend over for a blown out headlight. Fabian says he was expecting the worst after cops ordered them to put their hands up.

Fabian almost blew it by pulling the "Do you know who I am?" card with the first cop, who was not impressed. But the second cop was a Latina who saw the video, and she was clearly impressed and ultimately let him go with a warning to get his light fixed.

Fact is ... cops have discretion and often don't write motorists up with blown out lights, but when you watch the video Fabian's newfound fame clearly didn't hurt.

If you haven't seen it, the video is HILARIOUS ....  the Cholos mistake kale chips for bud and kombucha for a tribe of ancient warriors.

0918-facebook-post-no-no-getty-tmz-01A third year law student is taking on Facebook in court, claiming the social network made him look like a sex-crazed maniac.

Franco Caraccioli claims someone created a fake profile under the name Franco Caracciolijerkingman and packed it with pornographic images.

Franco says he caught wind when the fake account blasted him and all his buddies with friend requests.

He says he was super embarrassed and contacted Facebook, demanding they 86 it. Facebook sent him an email saying they found nothing wrong with the profile because it's in-line with Facebook community standards.

According to Franco, it was belatedly taken down, but only after he threatened legal action.

But that's not enough for Franco. He's suing Facebook for more than $1 million, and he's repping himself.

Great practice for the bar exam.

4/18/2015 12:15 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Aaron Hernandez's jail I.D. has been rejected again -- with Cragslist banning the sale of the item ... so now the seller is trying his luck on Mark Zuckerberg's turf.

As we previously reported ... the guy who currently has the I.D. says he happened to come across the item during his stint at Suffolk County Jail, where Hernandez arrived in July 2014.

He tried selling it on eBay, but the site killed the auction. Then he moved it to Craigslist, which also shut him down. So, now he's moved to Facebook ... where he's upped the asking price to $6,000.

His sales pitch -- "Act fast who knows how long this may be posted up."

Lindsey Vonn TIGER DIDN'T LIE About Missing Tooth Story

1/20/2015 5:21 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news
0120-lindsey-vonn-tmz-01Another bizarre twist in the Tiger Woods missing tooth mystery -- his GF Lindsey Vonn is backing his "camera smacked me in the mouth" story ... despite eye witnesses who claim it's all BS.

Vonn just went to Facebook to back up Tiger's story about why he was pictured without a front tooth at the World Cup skiing event in Italy this weekend -- saying:

"I feel terrible that his tooth got knocked out though. When he was in the finish area a camera man accidentally knocked into him and took out his front tooth. He was still in great spirits though and didn’t complain once or ask for any special assistance or security."

Problem is ... event officials have gone on the record and said no such accident ever occurred and if it had, there would have been witnesses or video of the incident.

One official told TMZ Sports that Tiger never even showed signs of pain ... signs that you'd expect someone to have after losing a tooth.

But Lindsey came up with an explanation when talking to USA Today -- saying, "This pain is really nothing when he has had as many injuries as he's had. It's not a big deal. He was in good spirits."

NFL Threatens Businesses Over Social Media Pics There's a 6-Player Limit

1/9/2015 12:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The days of using NFL players to promote your products for free on social media are over – so says the NFL which is now warning businesses, if they post pictures of 6 or more players using their products on social media … they better pay up!

TMZ Sports has obtained a letter sent by the league to Orefici Watches ... demanding the company immediately stop posting pictures of NFL stars wearing their jewelry on its various websites and social media pages.

But the explanation is the interesting part -- in the letter, the NFL says the league "has the exclusive right to license the names, likenesses, images" and more of nearly all NFL players for commercial products and promotions involving six or more players.

The NFL demanded Orefici remove the images ASAP or else it would take further legal action against the company. We're told Orefici complied.

FYI -- after the company received the letter, DeMarco Murray contacted the company and bought 22 watches for various teammates ... though pics of the players sporting the watches are noticeably absent from Orefici's social media.
