The man who threatened to kill
Michael Jackson believed he was married to
Janet Jackson -- and law enforcement sources tell TMZ it was Janet that the man was obsessed over.
A law enforcement source tells TMZ the man also made threats to kill Janet and even showed up at the Jackson family home in Encino.
In his rambling letters, the man --
Frank Paul Jones -- says "The situation ... is centered around her confused sexuality." He goes on to say if she does not "overcome" her issue over sexuality, "I'm gonna try to kill every homosexual on the face of the earth. If I can't save my wife, they can't be saved."

The person who threatened to kill
Michael Jackson unless he got money also threatened to slaughter people at a Michael Jackson concert, according to documents just released by the
FBI .. and it all appears to be a scheme to get a woman to notice him.
The person who wrote the threatening letters says, "I'll commit mass murder at a Michael Jackson concert if necessary, in an attempt to murder Michael, then you will have to deal with my situation in the public eye."
It appears from the letters the writer wants mobster
John Gotti to fork over money and if he doesn't ... the writer threatens to kill Michael.
The person who wrote the letters appears to be obsessed with a woman and is making these threats to get her attention. Some of the letters were written to newspapers. He says, "I'm 33 years old and never had a real relationship in my life. I can't even slow dance."
The man was arrested on May 22, 1992 outside the White House. He was released on June 4, 1992, and one day later made threats to kill Michael Jackson.

Someone threatened to kill
Michael Jackson, and then-President
George H.W. Bush, according to FBI documents just released.
Someone wrote a letter on July 6, 1992, that the FBI obtained, stating, "I decided that because nobody is taking me serious, and I can't handle my state of mind, that I am going to Washington D.C. to threaten to kill the President of the United States, George Bush."
It goes on ..."Michael [Jackson] I will personally attempt to kill, if he doesn't pay me my money."
One of the documents, written by the L.A. City Attorney's office, indicated on June 22, 1992, the author of the letter "arrives in Calif at Jackson's . Threatens to kill."
The FBI says the person who wrote the letter was charged with extortion, pled guilty and was sentenced to prison in 1993.

The
FBI will not release
Michael Jackson documents relating to the molestation investigations as well as extortion attempts -- at least not today.
The 333 pages of formerly-classified documents were supposed to be released today but the snow in Washington D.C. has caused a delay of at least one day.
As for what's in the documents ... sources tell TMZ during the 1993 Michael Jackson child molestation investigation, the late great
Johnnie Cochran contacted the FBI, claiming the accuser's family was trying to extort money from Jackson with false allegations. It's likely Cochran's contact with the agency will show up when the documents are released.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation will release 333 pages of
Michael Jackson's formerly-classified file on Monday morning. Can we interest you in a little light reading?
The documents will relate to his 1993 and 2004 child molestation cases -- as well as any case Michael Jackson was the victim of ... including threats and extortion attempts. Nothing about Dr. Conrad Murray or Michael's death will be in the files.
Our guess -- the extortion attempts will be the most interesting.
The FBI did a similar thing back in October concerning files involving
Anna Nicole Smith and a
possible plot to kill the son of her 89-year-old husband,
J. Howard Marshall II.

He's made a career out of stopping super-villains like Sabretooth, and Magneto -- but
Wolverine needed the help of the FBI to catch a dude who allegedly violated his rights on the Internet.
Some 47-year-old dude from The Bronx named
Gilberto Sanchez was arrested this morning after federal agents claim he ripped a copy of "
X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and uploaded it to a website back in March.
Sanchez has been charged with unlawfully distributing a pirated copy of the movie -- which could land him three years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine ... bub.
Speaking of photos that could harm one's reputation ...

TMZ has obtained the mug shots of the two people who were arrested for allegedly trying to extort
John Stamos for $680,000 over photographs that were taken of the actor at a party back in 2004 ... apparently the duo thought the pics were compromising but we're hearing it's a lot about nothing.
Allison Coss and
Scott Sippola were arrested on December 2 at a Michigan airport during an FBI sting operation.
Erin Andrews' alleged stalker may have another creepy Internet alias --
Breastboy -- which he allegedly used to upload
Peeping Tom videos on the Web for all to see.
The FBI served search warrants on
Yahoo and
Google yesterday, asking the Internet giants to turn over every bit of information about a Flickr.com account associated with the perverted username "
Breastboy."
The Breastboy account was allegedly accessed by someone with the equally perverted Yahoo username "
Handsfouryou"
-- which Feds think is suspect
Michael David Barrett.
One of the major items the FBI wants Yahoo to turn over: a 42-second video entitled "
Hot Blonde Out of Shower" uploaded on June 28, 2009 -- which appeared to be shot through the same type of hotel room peephole Erin fell victim to.
In the docs, it says the video was viewed 2,956 times ... and "49 people called this video a favorite."
The FBI wants the video -- along with "all messages, sent messages, deleted messages and messages maintained in trash and other folders" connected to Barrett's alleged accounts.
Barrett has already pled not guilty to interstate stalking.
Some of the most violent, drug-dealing gang members have been rounded up in a lightning-fast raid yesterday in an operation named after one of
Sublime's most famous songs.

Operation "
40 Ounces to Freedom" went down in L.A. in which 47 members of the Rollin' 40s street gang were taken into custody by
LAPD officers and
FBI agents. The gang reportedly deals crack cocaine in 40-ounce increments ... the band wrote the song about boozin' in 40 ounce increments.
No word on whether officials are considering using the name "Operation Smoke Two Joints" anytime soon.
We just spoke with the guy who triggered the murder-for-hire investigation into
Anna Nicole Smith -- and he says she repeatedly asked him to kill the son of her late husband,
J. Howard Marshall II.
Mark "Hollywood" Hatten, Anna's ex-BF, says a drug-addled Smith was continually "begging with me to kill
E. Pierce Marshall" claiming after her husband died, Pierce was "standing in the way of her money."
Hatten says he told Pierce's lawyer about the alleged plot. Mark claims he was then interviewed by the FBI twice about the matter while he was in jail for an unrelated crime.
TMZ sources confirm that when Anna and
Howard K. Stern met with the FBI, an agent told them Hatten was the one who made the claim. We're also told the agent didn't believe Hatten's story.
Ultimately, the FBI determined there was "insufficient evidence to establish that there was a murder-for-hire plot."
Anna Nicole Smith was investigated by the FBI over a possible plot to kill the son of
J. Howard Marshall II -- the 89-year-old oil tycoon she married when she was 26, this according to newly released documents.
The investigation took place between 2000 - 2001 -- after J. Howard's death -- when his son,
E. Pierce Marshall, was trying to keep Anna Nicole from getting a chunk of his father's wealth ... valued in the hundreds of millions.
According to FBI documents obtained by the Associated Press, authorities confiscated a couple of weapons from Anna's home during the investigation -- including a .357 revolver and a 3.5 inch stainless steel knife.
On July 3, 2000, Smith was questioned by the FBI, but according to the docs Anna, "began crying and denied ever making such plans."
Feds ultimately decided there was "insufficient evidence to establish that there was a murder-for-hire plot by Ms. Smith to kill Pierce Marshall."
Pierce died in 2006 from an infection.
