Mel Gibson Divorce - Goodbye, But Not Farewell

With all the strife in celebrity marriages these days, our sources say the marriage between Mel Gibson and Robyn is coming to a very amicable end ... but in reality the pair will be in business long after the divorce is final.

We're told Mel and Robyn have agreed on pretty much every big issue. In fact, it's so smooth, a judge isn't even involved yet. Instead, Mel and Robyn are using lawyers, accountants and business managers to hash out a settlement.

There is one complicating factor: The large majority of the couple's assets are in the form of houses and other non-liquid property. Robyn will get roughly half in the property settlement. The problem is -- property doesn't pay the bills month to month, and it's a bad time to sell.

Nevertheless ... the suits are busy valuing the assets, and we're told everything should be settled in the next two months.

But the divorce won't be the end of their relationship. We're told Mel doesn't have the ready cash to buy Robyn out of Icon Productions, his film company. So the plan is for both of them to stay in business together after the marriage ends.

So it is possible to end a long marriage without going to court every five minutes.

Nicollette Sheridan Expects Smear Campaign

Nicollette Sheridan won't be surprised if ABC and "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry team up to paint her as a difficult diva who is making up claims she was physically abused by Cherry.

TMZ broke the story Nicollette is suing ABC and Cherry for more than $20 mil, claiming Cherry actually struck her in the face in anger, ultimately firing her.

Nicollette's rep tells TMZ the actress was "a model employee" and Cherry's behavior toward her was "abusive and appalling."

The rep says Nicollette asked ABC for "help and protection" from ABC, to no avail, adding she did not want to file suit but felt "compelled" to do it to stand up for her rights.

The rep says, "It will not be a surprise if ABC and Mr. Cherry try to depict Nicollette to be something other than a team player and long-standing industry professional."

Girlfriend Fears 'Inglourious Basterds' Star

The actor who plays the British Lieutenant in "Inglourious Basterds" allegedly broke his ex-girlfriend's nose after a night of heavy boozing ... and now she wants protection from a judge, and stat.

Michael Fassbender
's ex -- Sunawin Andrews -- filed a petition for a restraining order against him earlier this month in L.A. County Superior Court.

In the documents, Andrews claims Michael hit the bottle hard during a film festival in July of 2009 -- and after he woke up in a puddle of his own urine, he became violent and "threw me over a chair breaking my nose."

Andrews also says Michael allegedly dragged her alongside their car one night after they had an argument about one of her ex-boyfriends ... causing her to twist her left ankle, blow out her left knee cap and burst an ovarian cyst.

Andrews says she fears for her life and wants to keep Michael 100 yards away from herself and her two children -- and wants over $20,000 to help her pay her medical bills from the injuries he allegedly caused.

Repeated attempts to reach Michael's agent were unsuccessful.

Kid Rock's Wallet Takes Hit in Fight Lawsuit

Kid Rock'Kid Rock has to pay three guys who sued him over an alleged fight last year a total of $35,000 ... not bad considering they originally demanded $15 million.

The three men filed the lawsuit last year, claiming Rock and three members of the Boo-Yaa Tribe hip-hop group assaulted them outside of an L.A. hotel in 2006.

The jury in the case reached the verdict moments ago in L.A. County Superior Court -- and ordered Rock to fork over $35k for the three guys to split.

Doesn't sound bad until you realize they weren't awarded any attorneys fees ... which means a nice chunk of that will be handed over to their lawyers.
