Lamar Odom Apologizes to Khloe for Drug Benders ... Vows to Get Her Back

1/17/2017 11:41 AM PST
Breaking News

Lamar Odom says he's grateful to Khloe Kardashian for staying by his side through his drug addiction and recovery ... and he wants her back.

Odom opened up about his battle with drugs on "The Doctors" -- and after completing a 30 day stint in rehab, he says one thing is perfectly clear ... "I want my wife back."

"Khloe is important to me," Lamar said ... "She's been through all of this with me and she stood right by my side so I just wanna repay her."

The issue, of course, is that Khloe not only filed for divorce ... and got it finalized ... she's already moved on to another NBA star, Tristan Thompson.

Still, Odom says he has a message for Khloe and the other family members he cares about.

"I just want to tell them I'm sorry for all that wasted time and wasted energy ... that in my addiction I didn't know who I was ... so I couldn't take care of myself. I damn sure couldn't take care of anybody else."

Breaking News

Lamar Odom says he was in a "dark place" before his 2015 drug overdose in Nevada ... and admits his addiction was so bad he was "basically committing suicide."

Odom opened up about his past on "The Doctors" ... saying, "I wasn't in a good place mentally before that incident happened."

He even referenced Khloe Kardashian.

"My wife at the time ... we were going through some things and I was in a dark place."

The show tracked Odom's journey through a 30 day stint at rehab -- where he addressed his demons head on.

Before the stint, Odom was asked if he was ashamed of some of the choices he's made.

"Hell yeah. They were despicable. I was basically committing suicide."

Odom says he "conquered" the treatment and insists he's a changed man ... saying, "I want to get high off of life now."

Breaking News

0117-steph-curry-shoes-in-game-getty-02Yes he can.

Steph Curry paid tribute to his favorite president Monday night ... rockin' a special pair of Obama-themed Curry 3 sneakers to play the Cavs ... complete with #44's signature on the bottom!

Steph and Barack have been tight for years -- and the Golden State Warriors star felt MLK Day was the perfect occasion to honor the first African-American POTUS.

The shoes are dope -- red, white and blue in color with the presidential seal and #44 on the tongue ... along with the words, "Back2Back."

It seems to be a reference to the 2 terms B.O. served as Commander-In-Chief.

Curry also tweeted about the kicks, "Honoring our President Barack Obama today on court! He embodies the inspiration, faith & hope Dr. King stood for! We R Forever Grateful! #44."

FYI, Curry dropped 20 in the Warriors 126-91 domination of LeBron James and the Cavs.

Gilbert Arenas Sues Laura Govan Your Lawyer Brought Up Old STD Stuff Again!

1/11/2017 6:05 PM PST

0111_gilbert_arenas_laura_govan_tmzGilbert Arenas is gunning for his ex-wife in court for repeating an STD claim about him that already cost her $110k ... TMZ has learned.

The ex-NBA star filed a defamation lawsuit against Laura Govan, as well as her attorney, Maya Shulman, over a December blog post about the longstanding war between the exes. In the post, Shulman said Laura was "stating a fact" when she accused Gilbert of giving her an STD.

As we reported, Gilbert won a hefty defamation judgement against Laura over that very allegation. In the new suit, he says Laura and her attorney clearly didn't learn their lesson -- and the December comment constitutes another instance of smearing his good name.

He says Shulman dug her own grave when she issued a retraction -- in the comments section of the blog -- admitting she doesn't "know any 'fact' that supports" Laura's STD claims. Gilbert says it proves she knowingly made a false statement.

He adds the retraction didn't come until 2 weeks later, and was NOT prominent on the site. He's suing both women for damages.

We reached out to Shulman, but haven't heard back.

Allen Iverson Michael Jordan Is Too Old ... For 3-On-3 League

1/11/2017 12:25 PM PST

Michael Jordan is too old to compete in Ice Cube's new 3-on-3 league for retired NBA players ... so says Allen Iverson, who tells TMZ Sports MJ's teeth are a little too long to still get it in on the court.

We got Iverson out in NYC at the official news conference for the BIG3 summer league (AI's gonna be playing and coaching) and wanted to know if we could look forward to Michael Jordan showing up.

Why ask Iverson? Allen made his NBA bones against MJ back in '97 crossing over His Airness in a moment most saw as Iverson's arrival, and the beginning of Jordan's departure.

Iverson says Jordan won't get his shot at revenge ...  because at 53 he thinks Father Time is playing lockdown defense on MJ.

Thank you, Iverson ... if Michael wasn't thinking about playing before ... we GUARANTEE he is now.

Kenyon Martin 'George Karl's a Clown ... I Don't Want to Talk to Him'

1/11/2017 11:36 AM PST

There will be no Kenyon Martin/George Karl peace summit ... the ex-NBA star says the guy is a "clown" and his explanation he gave for the hurtful things he said in his book is BS.

Kenyon was out in NYC hyping up BIG3 when we asked for his thoughts on Karl. He told TMZ Sports he regretted the way he spoke about Kenyon's father situation in his new book.

It's clear Martin isn't even close to forgiving Karl and has absolutely no desire to work things out with his former coach.

Rajon Rondo Didn't Take Team Bus to Game ... Here's Why

1/11/2017 9:36 AM PST

Rajon Rondo didn't get on the team bus with the rest of the Chicago Bulls to travel from the hotel in D.C. to the Verizon Center Tuesday ... but the team insists it has NOTHING to do with his beef with head coach Fred Hoiberg.

TMZ Sports spotted Rondo getting into a private car at his hotel before the Bulls played the Wizards -- while the team bus was parked right outside.

The timing is interesting since Rondo has voiced serious displeasure with Hoiberg over his recent 5 game benching.

But a rep for the Bulls tells TMZ Sports there's a perfectly good explanation for Rondo traveling solo.

"On game days, Rajon often goes to the arena early before the team bus departs the hotel. We have few players who will do this when they want to get in extra work pregame."

Rondo played 27 minutes in the Bulls' loss to the Wizards but went off on Hoiberg after the game -- saying his benching was "bulls**t."

Maybe it's best they travel separately ...

Boosie Badazz Meets Metta World Peace 'I Was In Lockdown When You Hit That 3!'

1/10/2017 4:06 PM PST

Cool moment in the TMZ offices when Boosie Badazz met Metta World Peace -- and bro'd out right on the "TMZ Sports" TV show

Turns out, the Louisiana rap legend is a HUGE Lakers fan -- and told Metta he remembers watching him hit that famous 3 pointer in Game 7 of the '10 NBA Finals while he was locked up in prison.

At the time, Boosie was locked up in the Louisiana State Penitentiary on drug charges ... and says Metta's shot was a bright spot during his incarceration.

Metta was equally stoked to meet Boosie ... saying the Lakers are always bumping his music in the locker room. Metta also told Boosie he was a "champion" for turning his life around after prison.

There's A LOT more on the "TMZ Sports" show Tuesday night on FS1 -- including Metta's take on the new George Karl video, Lamar Odom's possible coaching move and Mike Tyson's diss track.

Check out "TMZ Sports" weeknights on FS1.

George Karl Admits Book Screwup Handled Kenyon & Carmelo the 'Wrong Way'

1/10/2017 1:33 PM PST

George Karl is finally expressing remorse about the controversial comments he made about Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin ... saying, "I think I said that the wrong way."

Karl came under fire for a passage in his new book that said guys like Melo and Kenyon didn't know how to act like men because they didn't have fathers in their lives growing up.

Kenyon blasted Karl as a coward and terrible person.

We saw the ex-NBA coach in NYC moments ago and asked if he regretted what he wrote. He wouldn't go as far to say, "Yes" ... but he doesn't exactly defend his work either.

Karl also has a message for Carmelo.
