Mark Wahlberg Takes Back Offer To Give Conor Piece of UFC

6/13/2018 4:15 PM PDT

Mark Wahlberg says his offer to give Conor McGregor a piece of his UFC ownership stake has expired ... telling TMZ Sports, the dude has already been compensated enough!

Mark -- along with a bunch of other big stars like Sylvester Stallone, Tom Brady and Ben Affleck -- got a piece of the UFC back in 2016.

And right after Conor had defeated Nate Diaz and Eddie Alvarez, Mark offered to sell him part of his ownership stake after McGregor had griped that he wasn't getting paid enough.

But that was BEFORE Conor made $100 MILLION fighting Floyd Mayweather in August 2017 ... and apparently, that has changed the circumstances for Wahlberg.

Don't feel bad for either guy ... they're both gonna be fine.

By the way, Wahlberg also weighs in on all of the New England Patriots drama and why everyone HOPES there's a rift between the top guys in Pats Nation.

Johnny Manziel Crushed Beers & Partied With Gronk Before Pats Pre-Draft Visit

Breaking News

Johnny Manziel did just what you'd expect him to before his pre-draft visit with the Patriots -- he raged with Gronk and trashed his hotel room with wine!!

The now-CFL QB gave a play-by-play of the incident leading up to his meeting with the Pats back in 2014 ... saying he intended on chilling and watching a movie ... but then had a major accident that resulted in a bottle of wine spraying all over his hotel room.

Then, he got a FaceTime call from Gronk ... and THAT'S when the fun started.

"He's like, 'yeah, I just got out of practice. You want to hang out?' That escalated probably a little bit more than just having a bottle of wine in the hotel room," Johnny said on his "Comeback SZN" podcast with Barstool Sports.

"But for as big as he is, that guy can actually play some ping pong. I was really surprised. And maybe drank a couple beers."

Of course, Johnny went on to get drafted by the Browns with the 22nd overall pick ... not the Pats.

Baker Mayfield The Next Great Pats Quarterback!! ... Says Mark Wahlberg

6/11/2018 6:25 AM PDT

The future of the Patriots is currently a Cleveland Brown ... so says Mark Wahlberg, who tells TMZ Sports Baker Mayfield is Tom Brady's successor!!

Marky Mark was leaving Catch in WeHo on Friday when he gave us his State of the Patriots address ... from Brady and Rob Gronkowski's absense from OTAs and Julian Edelman's failed PED test.

Wahlberg goes down the list of rumors and reassures he's confident the team is doing just fine ... saying Edelman's an innocent man ... and there's no way TB12 is hanging it up anytime soon.

But, when he DOES retire ... Wahlberg says the Browns' no.1 overall pick is destined for Foxborough one way or another.

Julian Edelman Apologizes for PED Test 'I Don't Know What Happened'

Breaking News

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman is breaking his silence about his positive PED test ... saying, "I am very sorry."

"I don't know what happened," Edelman said in a statement.

"I've taken many, many tests obviously over the course of my career, and nothing like this has ever happened."

"I apologize to the Kraft family, my coaches, teammate and fans. As this matter is being appealed, I can’t say anymore but no matter what, I will be ready to play and pursue another championship with our team and for Patriots fans around the world."

Edelman is facing a 4-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy. No word on what Edelman allegedly tested positive for.

Bill Belichick Shuts Down Trump Questions ... Praises Tom Brady

6/5/2018 9:14 AM PDT
Breaking News

Bill Belichick sure as hell doesn't want to talk about his good friend, Donald Trump -- and shut down reporters when he was asked about the drama surrounding the Eagles' White House visit.

Remember, Belichick and Trump are tight ... in fact, Trump just appointed him to the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

Plus, Belichick famously wrote Trump a congratulatory letter right before the election -- a letter Trump read onstage at a major event.

So, when Belichick faced reporters at Patriots training camp on Tuesday ... the media wanted to know how he felt about the way Trump was handling the Eagles situation and the NFL's new national anthem rules

Guess what ... Belichick deflected and deflected.

He did sorta address the Tom Brady drama after his QB blew off Pats voluntary workouts.

"I've always had a good relationship with Tom," Belichick insisted.

He also insisted everyone's on the same page -- they're all focused on winning.

Tom Brady & Rob Gronkowski Hey, Patriots Fans ... We're back!!

6/4/2018 10:20 AM PDT
Breaking News

OK, so it's not exactly Patriots practice ... but Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are back at Gillette!

The two showed up at Patriots Fantasy Camp -- in which team members put paying fans through the paces of a regular day in the life of a Pats player. The money raised goes to charity.

Nobody really knew if Brady and Gronk would show up -- since they've been absent from New England's voluntary workouts the past couple weeks ... leading Bill Belichick to throw some not-so-subtle shade on his Hall of Fame QB.

But, when the event began Monday morning, the two most famous players were there.

Both players are expected to return for mandatory minicamp on Tuesday ... and their attendance at Monday's annual Patriots Fantasy Camp is a good sign that'll actually happen.

Happy now, Bill??

Deion Sanders Tom Brady Doesn't Need OTAs ... To Win a Super Bowl

5/24/2018 3:15 PM PDT

Deion Sanders has a message for people worried about Tom Brady skipping organized team activities (OTAs) this week ...

TMZ Sports asked Primetime -- who claims to have only attended OTAs twice during his Hall of Fame career -- about TB12 no-showing at the voluntary practices ... and he says it's NBD because Brady's already proven what he can do.

ICYMI -- Bill Belichick seemed pissed about Tom's absence from Patriots OTAs ... telling reporters, "I'm not gonna talk about the people who aren't here," on Tuesday.

Sanders ain't looking into that either ... saying that's always how the coach acts.

Bottom line -- Sanders says it's inevitable Brady and Co. are headed for Super Bowl 53 in ATL this year ... and no rumored beef is gonna keep the Patriots from making it happen.

Mark Wahlberg I See Bill Belichick In Brad Stevens

5/17/2018 4:28 PM PDT

Brad Stevens might be the best young coach in the NBA ... but is he on the level of Bill Belichick?

He's certainly on the way ... according to Celtics and Patriots superfan Mark Wahlberg ... who told us "that's a very, very good comparison."

TMZ Sports saw Wahlberg in L.A. ... and asked if the Celts head coach was "the new Belichick of Boston."

(Yeah, we know Boston is a part of New England -- but you get the point.)

It's high praise for a guy who's only been on the job for a few years ... considering B.B. has 5 'chips and is believed by some to be the best damn football coach ever.

But, Mark says there is still 1 thing Stevens has left to do.

Win 5 rings.

Donald Trump Appointing Bill Belichick ... to Fitness Council

5/4/2018 6:13 AM PDT
Breaking News

His relationship with Tom Brady might be over, but Donald Trump's still cool with Bill Belichick -- with POTUS appointing the Patriots coach to his new Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

Trump will be appointing a handful of his pals to the council including Herschel Walker, golfer Natalie Gulbis, beach volleyball star Misty May-Treanor and Mariano Rivera ... according to Axios

Remember, Belichick has been friends with Trump for years and famously wrote him a letter back in 2016 congratulating him on a "tremendous campaign."

Gulbis and Walker have both appeared on "Celebrity Apprentice" with Trump.

The point of the council is to help find ways to motivate kids to be more active.

Belichick spoke about the new position, saying "The Council's mission aligns with my beliefs and several of the Bill Belichick Foundation's goals and values as they relate to sports, youth athletics and personal health and wellness."

"The physical fitness of children in our country is an apolitical issue that is extremely important to our future. When I was contacted by Ivanka Trump and asked to participate, I was humbled to be asked and honored to accept, as I would have done for any administration."

"I know that a lot of great leaders have participated on the Council over the past half century, some who are personal inspirations to me, and I am eager to lend any assistance I can to its ongoing mission."

5/1/2018 6:29 AM PDT

Here's a couple of VERY rich guys hanging out -- Patriots owner Robert Kraft taking in the Boston Celtics game Monday night with team owner Wyc Grousbeck

Kraft and Grousbeck have been hanging out a lot lately -- they were also together at the Celtics game Saturday night with another member of the Boston Billionaire's Club ... Red Sox owner John Henry

The Celtics beat the 76ers on Monday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals -- Kraft and Grousbeck were high-fiving on the court during the end of the game.

So, who's got the biggest bank between the three? According to Forbes, Kraft's worth $6.2 billion and John Henry's valued at $2.5 billion ... but Grousbeck's net worth isn't listed.

With the Celtics valued at more than $2 billion, he ain't poor either.

Brady says football players are ultimately entertainers and watching the sport should help make fans get away from their real-world problems.

Gronk ain't done with the Patriots just yet!!

After months of speculation, Rob Gronkowski just officially announced he's returning to the New England Patriots for the 2018 season ... and NOT retiring.

"I met with coach today and informed him I will be back for the 2018 season with the Pats," Gronk said.

"I have been working out, staying in shape and feel great. Looking forward to another championship run. #bandsamakeherdance."

Remember, Gronk said he was going to contemplate his NFL future after the Pats lost the Super Bowl to the Eagles back in February.
