Rev. Jesse Jackson Calls Out NFL Owners Get Some Courage, Sign Kaepernick!!

8/22/2017 9:22 AM PDT
Breaking News

Rev. Jesse Jackson is making a public plea to NFL owners -- do the right thing and sign Colin Kaepernick already!!

Jackson addressed the NFL's handling of the controversial free agent quarterback in an interview with BSO's Robert Littal ... and says Kaep is being wrongfully ignored by the league and its owners.

Jackson thinks the NFL is being hypocritical and treating players with criminal records better than Kaep ... but says it's not too late to make things right.

"Kaepernick should be playing football this fall of 2017 for somebody. Some owner should have the courage to do the right thing ... and get a good ball player at the same time."

Jackson also talks about Michael Bennett and Cleveland Browns players joining the protest against social injustices ... and he hopes to see more athletes use their platform to stand up for their beliefs.

White CLE Browns Player 'I Kneeled to Support My African American Teammates'

8/22/2017 7:15 AM PDT
Breaking News

Cleveland Browns tight end Seth DeValve -- the first white NFL player to kneel during the national anthem -- says he demonstrated on Monday night to support his African American teammates.

12 Browns players in total knelt in a circle before Cleveland took on the NY Giants -- the players included stars like Jabrill Peppers, Calvin Pryor, Isaiah Crowell, Kenny Britt and Duke Johnson

But DeValve made the biggest splash ... just days after Michael Bennett said a white player kneeling would make the protest more effective.

DeValve -- who's married to a black woman -- heard Bennett loud and clear and heeded the call.

After the game, the Browns protesters explained their demonstration -- saying they wanted to come together as men to combat all the hate and injustice in the world.

LaDainian Tomlinson Fantasy Football's Lock? Pump the Brakes on Odell

8/22/2017 6:37 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

LaDainian Tomlinson loves him some Odell Beckham -- loves -- but tells fantasy football owners he's got some real concerns about the WR after that scary-looking injury Monday night.

LT was leaving Craig's in West Hollywood when we asked for his 3 MUST-HAVES on his FF team.

After busting out 3 top names who weren't NY Giants, the Hall of Famer explained why the ankle injury is raising some red flags.

For the record, Beckham was optimistic about the injury after the game and seemed to be in good spirits.

There's more ... LT also reacts to news articles comparing his HOF speech to Obama (he's blown away) and tells us what he's been doing with that brand new gold jacket (it's cute).

Odell Beckham I'm Spider-Man! ... Crashes Kids Bday Party!

8/21/2017 11:10 AM PDT
Exclusive Details

If your Odey senses were tingling at a trampoline park in NJ this weekend ... it's because #13 was there in a full Spider-Man costume -- and the story is pretty great!

The NY Giants superstar caught wind that his teammate, Jonathan Casillas, was throwing a party for his 6-year-old daughter, Jade, who happens to be a big Odell Beckham fan.

We're told Odell wanted to surprise Jade -- so he got a black Spider-Man costume (with a full mask covering his face) and kicked it with the kids ... who had no idea Spidey was really a huge NFL star.

Odell eventually unmasked himself and the video is awesome. We're told Jade (and her mom) loved the surprise ... they had no idea!

As for the costume ... we debated if it was actually a Venom suit but ultimately decided it was more like the black Spidey suit from "Spider-Man 3."

Venom doesn't typically have webs on the suit.

Yeah, we're dorks. Whatever.

Antonio Brown Trainer Quits 'I Had To Remove Myself From the BS'

8/21/2017 9:30 AM PDT
Breaking News

Antonio Brown's longtime personal trainer has completely cut ties with the Steelers superstar ... saying working with A.B. is "bad business."

A.B. and Florida-based fitness expert Bo Smith were inseparable for years ... and the duo had documented their intense workouts on social media.

But that's all come to an end ... with Smith sharing news of the messy breakup on Instagram, saying "I had to walk away & remove myself from the bulls**t! Be a MAN of your WORD and own up to your WRONGS as a MAN should, Communication is KEY!"

He added ... "I've learned to walk away from anything or anyone that THREATENS my PEACE of MIND, SELF-RESPECT, VALUES, MORALS or SELF WORTH."

Unclear exactly what caused the rift -- but it doesn't sound good.

The situation sounds similar to Brown's split with his personal chef -- who split from the NFL star last year in a public, bitter breakup.

Smith should be able to rebound -- he's trained a laundry list of big athletes including Chad Johnson and Geno Smith

NFL's Dante Fowler Charged with Battery, Theft Over Alleged Parking Lot Beatdown

8/21/2017 7:43 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler has been formally charged with 3 misdemeanors for allegedly roughing up a dude in an apartment parking lot last month ... TMZ Sports has learned.

According to court docs, obtained by TMZ Sports, Fowler has been charged with 1st degree misdemeanor battery, criminal mischief and petty theft.

As we previously reported, Fowler was initially arrested after cops say he got into an altercation with a man who criticized his driving -- and proceeded to hit the man, knock off his glasses, stepped on them ... and then grabbed the man's bag of newly purchased liquor and threw it in a nearby lake.

If convicted on all counts, Fowler faces about a year behind bars.

Fowler has since apologized for the incident -- telling Jaguars fans, "I'm a better person than that."

Oakland Raiders Coach Sean Smith was Defending His Sister

8/21/2017 6:06 AM PDT
Breaking News

Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio has Sean Smith's back -- sorta.

Del Rio was asked about Smith's arrest over an alleged July 4 beatdown of his sister's boyfriend and produced a possible defense for the cornerback.

"He was defending his sister," Del Rio told SFGate.com ... "Obviously, things occurred that were taken issue with, so he’s having to defend himself right now.”

TMZ Sports broke the story ... Smith -- who signed a $40 MILLION contract last year -- was arrested for felony battery in Pasadena after cops said he beat and stomped the man so badly he was hospitalized in critical condition.

Smith's lawyer says his client is innocent and will fight the charges -- but Del Rio's comments essentially confirm he did get physical with the other man. So, the "It Wasn't Me" defense is out the window.

But even if Smith was "defending his sister" -- the law only affords someone the right to use "reasonable force" to stop an imminent attack.

Based on the injuries the man suffered -- multiple broken bones, unconscious when police arrived, critical condition -- it sounds like officials believe Smith exceeded that standard.

Smith's due back in court next month.

Green Beret Nate Boyer I Fought So Marshawn Can Sit But I Disagree With Protest

8/19/2017 12:25 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Nate Boyer -- the former Army Green Beret who played briefly with the Seahawks -- says he doesn't exactly agree with Marshawn Lynch's national anthem protest ... but he fought for his right to do it!

Boyer's story is legendary ... he served 6 years with the U.S. military doing multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan before returning and walking on to the University of Texas football team.

After college, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2015 -- and went through camp with Marshawn and Michael Bennett ... guys he really likes and respects.

So, we figured he was the perfect guy to talk to about Marshawn and Bennett both sitting for the anthem during the NFL pre-season games.

"They have every right to do what they're doing. I don't necessarily agree with it but it's their right and it's the right that I fought for."

He continued ... "They're not hurting anybody. They're not hitting women like some of these people in the league are doing."

Boyer -- who also consulted Colin Kaepernick about his controversial protest last season -- says what's more problematic to him is the state of the country.

"I think as a service member, it's more upsetting for me to come back from fighting for my country overseas to see how divided we are and how angry we are at each other as a country, I'm more hurt by that than somebody sitting down during the anthem."

James Harrison I Never Threatened Anthem Protesters

8/18/2017 10:14 AM PDT
Breaking News

Pittsburgh Steelers badass James Harrison is opening up about how he REALLY feels about national anthem protesters ... in the wake of a fake threat attributed to him last week.

The false quote whizzed around social media -- claiming Harrison said, "Anyone on my team sits for the anthem, they better be in a wheelchair."

He never said it. It was completely made up.

But now, Harrison is telling The MMQB how he would feel if his teammates decided to follow guys like Marshawn Lynch and Michael Bennett

"That’s up to the individual ... if they feel like that’s something they want to do, that’s their right."

Deebo was victimized by a similar fake news post last season ... when a different account said he'd break any teammate's leg for following Colin Kaepernick's anthem protests.

Sean Smith's Victim Hospitalized In Critical Condition ... Cops Say

8/18/2017 7:37 AM PDT
Exclusive Details

Oakland Raiders cornerback Sean Smith allegedly beat his sister's boyfriend so badly during a July 4 attack, the guy was hospitalized in critical condition with multiple broken bones in his face, TMZ Sports has learned.

Law enforcement tells us ... officers responded to calls of an unconscious male on the streets of Pasadena and when help arrived they found him bloody and beaten on the sidewalk.

We're told it was obvious the man had multiple facial fractures.

Cops previously said Smith beat the man and then stomped his head.

Investigators spoke with multiple witnesses -- and fingered Smith as the assailant.

Smith -- who signed a 4-year, $38 million contract in 2016 -- was arrested for felony assault. He posted $80,000 bond and is due back in court to be arraigned in September.

For his part, Smith has denied any wrongdoing and has vowed to fight the case.

The NFL has launched its own investigation into the incident.

So far, no comment from the Raiders.

Raiders' Sean Smith Charged with Felony Assault ... Over July 4th Beatdown

8/17/2017 5:27 PM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Oakland Raiders cornerback Sean Smith -- who signed a $40 million contract last year -- was arrested Thursday and charged with felony assault, TMZ Sports has learned.

Officials say Smith attacked his sister's boyfriend on July 4 -- beat and stomped on his head in Pasadena in the early hours.

He's been charged with felony assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury.

If convicted, Smith faces up to 7 years in state prison.

It's not Smith's first brush with the law -- he was convicted of DUI stemming from a 2014 car crash in which he smashed into a light pole.

We've reached out to the Raiders for comment -- so far, no word back.

Smith's attorney, Daniel Rosenberg, says Smith maintains his innocence and vows to fight the charges.

Marshawn Lynch Flips Metaphorical Finger at Anthem Protest Questions

8/17/2017 3:22 PM PDT
Breaking News

Oakland Raiders star Marshawn Lynch was asked point-blank by the media about his national anthem protest -- but by the way he bobbed, weaved and clowned the questions, you'd think he was Floyd Mayweather

When asked to address the "elephant in the room" ... Beast Mode responded with an elephant metaphor -- something about how elephants are scared of mice.

When asked how he felt about the way Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio responded to the anthem protest, he slithered out of that one, too.

Bottom line -- he's just here so he won't get fined.

Mike Vick Responds to Charlottesville Virginia Will 'Get it Right'

8/17/2017 2:41 PM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Mike Vick says his home state of Virginia WILL overcome the politically charged violence in Charlottesville ... telling TMZ Sports he has faith in the people of the commonwealth.

"Virginia's home -- I love Virginia," the QB told us outside Mastro's in L.A. "We'll get it right, trust me."

President Trump's been under fire for his reaction to the events in Virginia, and we asked Vick about 45's response, but Mike chose to stay mum on that topic.

He did however weigh in on the whole Ezekiel Elliott situation, showing a little bit of support for the embattled Dallas Cowboys star.
