NFL's Malcolm Jenkins Kaepernick Was Invited to Meeting ... Didn't Show

10/17/2017 12:44 PM PDT

1:08 PM PT -- Kaepernick's lawyer, Mark Geragos, says his client was NOT officially invited to the meeting by team or league officials, but is "open to future participation on these important discussions."

Colin Kaepernick was invited to NFL headquarters to talk about social issues with team owners ... but decided not to show up to the meeting, Malcolm Jenkins told the media on Tuesday.

Several players sat down with owners in Manhattan today to discuss ways to promote positive change ... and both sides agreed it was a step in the right direction, but there's more work to do.

"Those conversations will continue. That dialogue will continue," Jenkins said.

"As players, we'll continue to do the work in our communities. We feel like that's the most American thing to do is to use your platform to influence with the stage that we have."

As for the national anthem demonstrations ... Jenkins says it wasn't the focus of the meeting.

Wu-Tang's Raekwon Sign Kaepernick to Replace Rodgers

10/17/2017 7:28 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Colin Kaepernick ain't exactly hurtin' for cash, but the Packers should absolutely show him the money -- so says Wu-Tang rapper Raekwon

We got the huge Packers fan at LAX ... and asked him about the prospect of Kaep replacing Rodgers while the star QB heals up.

"That'd be dope," Raekwon told TMZ Sports. "Kaepernick can hold the fort down ... as a starter."

The emcee gets why Kaep hasn't been picked up yet -- "it's a serious situation for the NFL" -- but at the same time, says he's got mad respect for his movement.

Whether he gets paid or not, Raekwon told us Kaep should be good -- 'cause he's made PLENTY of money playin' for the 49ers.

$43.4 MILLION, reportedly ... to be exact.

Jermichael Finley Packers Should Call Brett Favre ... Not Colin Kaepernick!

10/17/2017 12:45 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Ex-Packers star Jermichael Finley says Colin Kaepernick is NOT the answer to the Green Bay Packers QB problem, but knows a guy who could be ... Brett Favre

Finley used to be one of Aaron Rodgers' top targets ... so we got him to weigh in on who should take the job now that A-Rod might be (most likely is) done for the season.

Jermichael straight up blew up the Kaepernick option, saying there's no way it's possible, because cheesehead land is just too conservative to embrace the controversial QB.

"That would never happen in the state of Wisconsin," Finley told TMZ Sports.

But when we brought up Brett, Finley's eyes lit up, and he told us the 48-year-old gunslinger is actually the perfect guy to step in and steady the ship.

"He looks really good, he knows the playbook, he knows the city. I think Brett would be a better fit then Colin Kaepernick. Brett Farve is the best decision for the Packers."

FYI, we talked to Brett earlier this year, and he told us he definitely feels like he could still play, but has no interest in taking NFL hits again.

Olympian John Carlos Kaep Won't Play in the NFL Again But He's Beyond That Now

10/16/2017 2:58 PM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

One of the Olympians who iconically raised his fist at the 1968 games says Colin Kaepernick will not play in the NFL again, but adds ... it won't impact his legacy.

John Carlos -- who, along with Tommie Smith, made the most memorable Olympic demonstration -- says Kaep's now waded into social justice territory ... not only by kneeling, but by filing his grievance against the NFL for collusion.

John says it's likely Colin put the last nail in the coffin of his NFL career by attacking the league so directly. Not that there's anything wrong with that -- according to John, Kaepernick now has a duty to right the wrongs he feels were done. For himself and others.

Fun fact: Today marks the 49th anniversary of John and Tommie's powerful gesture.

Aaron Rodgers More Valuable Than Tom Brady ... Says Greg Jennings

10/16/2017 1:34 PM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Aaron Rodgers means more to his team than any other football player in the NFL ... and that includes the arguable G.O.A.T. QB, Tom Brady ... so says former Packers WR Greg Jennings.

We asked Jennings -- a 2x Pro Bowler who was teammates with Rodgers -- turned Fox Sports analyst how crippling the loss of A.R. is to the 4-2 Packers.

"He means more to his team than any other player in this league."

More than 5x Super Bowl champ Tom Brady?

"Absolutely."

There's 1 ray of hope for Green Bay ... if Rodgers' broken collarbone heals up and he gets back on the field this season, Jennings believes the Packers gunslinger can still lead 'em to the Super Bowl.

No pressure.

D.L. Hughley Colin Kaepernick Is More Hated Than O.J.

10/16/2017 11:42 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

D.L. Hughley says there's someone America hates MORE than O.J. Simpson, and that man is Colin Kaepernick ... who Hughley thinks is getting the major shaft from NFL owners, and the American public.

As we previously reported, Kaep is gearing up to file a grievance against the NFL, alleging collusion by the NFL owners to keep him out of the league following his national anthem protest.

We got Hughley at LAX, and he told our guy he agrees 100% the NFL honchos are blackballing Colin -- and he has a reason.

"If Kaepernick had gotten an opportunity to try out for a squad and not made it, then this whole thing wouldn't have merit." Later adding, "If he's incapable of playing how come they've never let him prove it on the field?"

D.L. wasn't finished, saying in his opinion Kaep is one of the three most hated black men in America along with Obama and the aforementioned double murderer. But in his opinion, Colin has it worse.

"They hate Colin Kaepernick right now more than they hate O.J."

Al Michaels My Bad ... Harvey Weinstein Joke Wasn't Cool

10/16/2017 6:12 AM PDT
Breaking News

Al Michaels thought it'd be funny to compare the NY Giants sucking to Harvey Weinstein's sexual harassment/assault allegations on NBC's "Sunday Night Football."

It wasn't ... but at least he apologized for it (and in record time!!).

"I mean, let's face it -- the Giants are coming off a worse week than Harvey Weinstein, and they're up 14 points,” Michaels said in the 3rd quarter of Giants vs. Broncos.

FYI -- the Giants lost Odell Beckham Jr. for the year to a nasty injury, a player was suspended, and just about everything else went wrong.

The legendary sports announcer ended up apologizing early in the 4th, telling viewers it was "not meant in that manner."

The Giants won, 23-10. As for Weinstein ... his situation is very different.

Colin Kaepernick Files Grievance Against NFL ... For Alleged Collusion

10/15/2017 3:28 PM PDT
Breaking News

4:56 PM PT -- Colin's lawyer, Mark Geragos, released a statement saying ... "We can confirm that this morning we filed a grievance under the CBA on behalf of Colin Kaepernick. This was done only after pursuing ever possible avenue with all NFL teams and their executives." The statement goes on to say Colin shouldn't be punished for his peaceful protest, and that he just wants to get back to playing.

Colin Kaepernick has filed a grievance against the NFL alleging the league colluded to keep him out because of his National Anthem protests ... according to a new court filing.

The filing, obtained by ABC News, alleges the league's owners "colluded to deprive Mr. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick's leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice."

Kaepernick has also hired celeb attorney Mark Geragos for representation as opposed to going through the NFL Players Association.

As we reported ... Kaep's protest has ignited a national debate about kneeling for the flag.

Pro Football Hall of Fame Plants 300 U.S. Flags ... On Front Lawn

10/15/2017 12:35 AM PDT
Exclusive Details

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is clearly trying to send a message when it comes to the flag -- the more, the better.

TMZ Sports has learned ... organizers at the HOF in Canton, OH recently planted more than 300 U.S. flags on the lawn as part of a campaign called "Huddle Up, America."

The HOF says the flags are "a sign of unity to bring all Americans together" -- and the campaign was designed to help the football community "work through issues that are important to our families, community and country."

Guessing Trump approves.

Jay Glazer Kaepernick Will Play in NFL This Year ... Here's Why

10/14/2017 12:05 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Colin Kaepernick will make it back to the NFL, and it's gonna happen THIS SEASON -- so says NFL Insider Jay Glazer

Jay tells TMZ Sports signing Kaep comes down to a simple formula -- "skill versus circus" -- and that right now, the QB's abilities outweigh the media attention he'd get for his kneeling protests.

"Because of his level of play, yeah -- somebody's gonna have to (sign him)."

But Glazer says Colin can't just sit around ... and urges the QB to help his own cause.

"You gotta go above and beyond so you can get signed."

"If you ever want to talk about politics? Fine. ... But if he wants to be a football player, TALK FOOTBALL."

G-Eazy Hey Eminem, I'm With Kap Too!!!

10/13/2017 2:17 PM PDT

Colin Kaepernick is having a great week with white rappers, 'cause days after Eminem pledged allegiance to the embattled QB, hip-hop star G-Eazy has followed suit.

The "Me, Myself & I" rapper posed for a photo with the QB while proudly displaying an "I'm With Kap" shirt -- and sent a message to Colin saying, "Thank you for bringing awareness and attention to injustices that are happening all over our country and the world."

He added, "Thank you for sparking a movement that's creating a desperately needed dialogue about these issues."

Eazy ended with a POTUS diss -- "F*ck Donald Trump straight up."

Jerry Jones: Ezekiel Elliott Is Getting Screwed

10/13/2017 10:03 AM PDT
Breaking News

Jerry Jones thinks Ezekiel Elliott is getting a raw deal -- saying the 6-game suspension is simply unfair.

The Dallas Cowboys owner called in to "G-Bag Nation" on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas early Friday morning and said, "I'm very familiar with all of the facts and the details of this case. Very familiar ... Zeke did not get treated fairly here."

As we previously reported, a federal appeals court issued a ruling essentially clearing the way for the NFL to enforce the 6-game suspension it handed to Elliott as a result of a domestic violence investigation

Elliott was never charged with a crime -- but the NFL's private investigators believe Elliott did, in fact, attack his girlfriend back in 2016.  Zeke denies all wrongdoing and Jones clearly believes him.

"Zeke and his team and the Cowboys do not think [the NFL's suspension and punishment process] was done in a fair way. We are trying to get that looked at, and we got a setback yesterday."

As for Elliott, his lawyer says the RB is exploring his legal options.

Tom Arnold Trump vs. NFL Ain't About the Flag ... It's an Old Grudge

10/13/2017 9:22 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Tom Arnold is DESTROYING Donald Trump for his war on the NFL ... and tells TMZ Sports he knows the real reason POTUS is going after the league and its players.

Tom says Trump's still pissed about a failed attempt to buy the Dallas Cowboys back in the day ... a business move that could've meant billions.

"He's mad because they wouldn't give him a franchise.”

"They wouldn’t let him do it and he holds resentment ... and it’s ridiculous.”

Arnold wasn’t done there – telling us Trump’s a “stupid idiot” for pitting his cult of "morons" against national anthem protests. Tom also called B.S. on Mike Pence ditching the 49ers-Colts game.

But the former 'Best Damn Sports Show' host says it’ll be OK – 'cause football's gonna outlast 'em.

"The NFL's gonna survive. The NFL's gonna be here a lot longer than Donald Trump."
