Willie Roaf Manziel To The Saints Is Great ... If He Can Handle New Orleans

3/24/2017 3:05 PM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Saints Hall of Famer Willie Roaf says he's all for Johnny Manziel taking his talents to the Bayou ... as long as he's ready for the nonstop party that is New Orleans.

There are reports Manziel has been in contact with Saints coach Sean Payton recently, leading some to wonder if there are plans for JM to be the heir apparent to Drew Brees.

Roaf was an 11-time Pro Bowler for the Saints, and when we talked to him about Manziel possibly ending up there, Roaf was in favor of the second chance, but not without warning.

"I think the kid is still young. He has a lot of potential. Hopefully he has his issues under control ... New Orleans is a tough city, it's a lotta nightlife, a lotta drinking."

Roaf goes on to say he believes Johnny can be successful as a Saint, as long as the staff keeps a tight leash on him.

As for what Willie is doing these days -- he told us all about the AWESOME company he's starting with some fellow NFL greats now that their playing days are over.

But Peyton put the senator talk to bed during the Adobe Summit in Vegas this week.

"I have no idea where that comes from. A few weeks ago I was gonna go run a team. Last week, I was gonna go be in the Senate ... next week, I'll probably be an astronaut."

To be clear, Manning added, "I have no interest in getting into the political world" ... but said he does want to continue to serve and give back to the communities.

He added, "Be careful what you believe."

Pats owner Robert Kraft was actually happy to see the FBI -- because they forked over Tom Brady's missing Super Bowl jerseys!!!

The Bureau posted this photo shot at Gillette Stadium Thursday ... where the QB's Super Bowl 49 and 51 jerseys were returned from Mexico. The recovery was the result of a massive international jersey hunt that led to a reporter in Mexico whom authorities say was the thief.

Kraft said, "We want to thank the FBI, the Mexican authorities and the many different local agencies that were involved in the investigation and ultimate recovery of Tom Brady's Super Bowl LI jersey."

He added, "Working along with the Patriots and NFL security, those agencies collectively coordinated an investigation that also led to the recovery of Tom's missing Super Bowl XLIX jersey."

Nicely done!

3/23/2017 11:52 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

47-year-old Brett Favre says he KNOWS he still has the arm to compete in the NFL ... but he just doesn't wanna get hit anymore.

The ex-NFL star says he's flattered by ATL Falcons CB Robert Alford -- who strongly feels Favre could make a comeback after their workout in Louisiana this week ... but it ain't happening.

"I could still make the throws," Favre tells TMZ Sports ... "If they promise they won't hit me, I'll play."

There's more ... Favre says he's far more concerned about the longterm effects of concussions and is invested in multiple companies -- including Prevacus and Brock USA -- in the hopes of preventing and treating brain injuries.

Favre says he feels it's his "duty" to try and make the game better and safer for future NFL players and he's touring around with Sqor Sports in hopes of doing just that.

But, when it comes to his own family members playing the game he loves, Brett says he would "strongly discourage" his grandsons from playing football based on the medical information he has today.

"Yeah, you may make a good salary ... but what happens in the end if you have enough concussions? It may be a tragic end."

3/22/2017 4:20 PM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Brett Favre fired up his laser rocket arm for a training session with Atlanta Falcons cornerback Robert Alford Wednesday ... and the guy tells us Favre STILL has the tools to play in the NFL.

Alford -- who famously picked off Tom Brady for a TD in the Super Bowl -- tells TMZ Sports he was at the Traction Sports Performance center in Louisiana when Brett stopped by.

Alford says Favre didn't even warm up ... he just grabbed a ball and started rifling away -- "throwing lasers on the dot."

Alford says he's 100% convinced the 47-year-old could seriously compete in the NFL -- as long as he had an offensive line that could allow him to sit back and sling it.

He even has a message for all the teams still looking for a QB ... "GO GET [FAVRE]."

King says the fact we got Brady's jersey back sends a strong message to people with ill-gotten Super Bowl stuff everywhere ... we're coming for you!

He even refers to Putin as a "thief."

Sarah Palin Removes Kaepernick Article from Website ... 'Not Her Opinion'

3/22/2017 8:48 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

0322-palin-kaepernick-gettySarah Palin has removed an article from her website criticizing Colin Kaepernick's $50,000 donation to Meals on Wheels ... and we're told the post is NOT in line with the former governor's beliefs.

As we previously reported, a story went up on SarahPalin.com Wednesday morning titled, "SERIOUSLY? Colin Kaepernick Just Pulled ANOTHER Political Stunt."

The article was NOT written by Palin -- but it was posted on Sarah's official Facebook page with a comment saying, "And he wonders why he can't find a job."

Now, we're told Sarah did NOT have a personal role in greenlighting the story, posting it on her site or Facebook page, or adding the additional comment.

One source familiar with the situation tells us, "This is not a view that Governor Palin holds. She has a long history of volunteering for Meals on Wheels and donating to them."

"This was an opinion by a contributor to sarahpalin.com and as has since been removed."

We're told comments that Palin personally writes are signed with her initials.

Sarah Palin Kaepernick's Meals On Wheels Donation Is Shameless 'Political Stunt'

3/22/2017 6:29 AM PDT
Breaking News

0322-sarah-pailin-colin-kaepernick-tmz-gettySarah Palin ain't impressed with Colin Kaepernick's $50,000 donation to Meals on Wheels ... labeling the move as a cheap "political stunt."

The former Alaska governor just put her seal of approval on an anti-Kaep article posted on her website, SarahPalin.com titled, "SERIOUSLY? Colin Kaepernick Just Pulled ANOTHER Political Stunt."

The article, written by Mary Kate Knorr, essentially calls BS on reports Donald Trump is defunding the charity -- before getting back to why she thinks Colin sucks.

"His last stunt cost him the respect of most NFL officials, as teams across the country have chosen not to offer Kaepernick a contract following his kneeling-during-the-National-Anthem stunt last year."

Sarah commented on the article on her Facebook page ... saying, "And he wonders why he can’t find a job."

As for Colin, he has not commented on the donation ... but it was confirmed by Meals on Wheels.

NFL's Eric Davis Trump's Wrong NFL Owners NOT Afraid You

3/22/2017 6:05 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

Donald Trump is WAYYYYYY off if he thinks NFL owners are blacklisting Colin Kaepernick out of fear of a presidential Twitter backlash ... so says ex-NFL star Eric Davis

The former 49ers cornerback says NFL owners are too rich and too powerful to be swayed  by a TWEET from the president ... despite claims Trump made in Kentucky earlier this week.

As for whether Kaepernick deserves a shot in the NFL this season, Eric has pretty strong opinion on that.

Greg Hardy Coke Arrest Video 'He's a Cowboys Player, Don't Stir Anything Up'

3/22/2017 12:55 AM PDT
EXCLUSIVE

TMZ Sports has obtained the Greg Hardy cocaine arrest video which shows cops warning each other that he's a big, strong, Dallas Cowboys player ... so "we have to not stir anything up."

Hardy was arrested in Dallas back in September after officers found cocaine in his wallet during a routine traffic stop.

In the video, Hardy is with a female passenger and is extremely polite to the officers. The officers are also acting carefully. One whispers to another, "He's very big and fit."

FYI, Hardy is 6'4", 280.

When the cops find a purple baggy filled with coke in Hardy's wallet (which was in his car), his explanation is bizarre.

"I just got a job, I play football. I was at a party. I got drunk. Literally last night. I was at a mixer with NFL guys trying to do an interview. Like I said, I don’t know what happened between me and him, he could’ve slipped stuff in my pocket. Some people offered me some stuff. I literally don’t know what is in that. Whatever it is. I haven’t even seen it. I thought that I had nothing in the car."

He added, "I just came from a date. I was just trying to get a date in before I go and try to get a job to play ball."

So, two things ...

1) Hardy is convinced someone connected to the NFL planted drugs on him.

2) At the time, Hardy (a free agent) was convinced he was going to sign with a new team. That never came to fruition. He didn't play in 2016.

As for the arrest, Hardy eventually struck a plea deal and got 2 years probation.

Long story short ... Millen is convinced Kaepernick still has the talent to play winning football and says NFL teams know it.

Millen also says teams are also weighing Kaep's off-the-field controversies when considering the QB -- but he's certain there are teams that will take a chance on him anyway.
